Midterm Election Gameday Thread
IDBillzFan replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
We do absentee ballots, but drop them off at our polling place on election day. Early voting always seems like a bad idea, much like picking a football team's W/L record during mini-camp. But the absentee is cool because I can sit and review each vote with purpose, then tell my b*tch wife to vote just like me or I'll put her in a handsmaid outfit, right before her brother calls and tells her how to vote, just before her father calls her and tells her how to vote, because b8tches ain't smart enough to do anything but make me a sammich. At least that's what Hillary says. -

White female Senator worth $10M warns America we must not let people with money corrupt politics. Ezra Klein worries what will happen if the Dems win the popular vote, but not the majority. -

One thing I think we can all agree on: the left does not believe in mirrors. -

Nice family you have there. Be a shame if you didn't vote this year... -

The people marching to the boarder ???

Seriously. It's ridiculous. Why is it that the only way to view the team is through the lens of misery? Badol and the rest simply must be miserable. They must hate the team. They must mock everything, including the owners, who literally were the one firewall keeping the team in Buffalo. So much stupidity. But it's the reason I keep my Timmah Graham avatar. They love to hate the team and picking on Timmah to them is like picking on Obama to a socialist. One of the things I was trying to explain to some of them last week is that when someone posts bad stats on Twitter, it's means to piss off the fans and get clicks. So someone will post on Twitter something like "The Greater Macungie Pony Flag Football team threw more touchdown passes last night than the Buffalo Bills have all year." People flip out. I counter with, essentially, "Look, the only choice you have in this gig is whether to follow the team or not. You're not getting anyone fired. You're not smarter than Terry Pegula. You're not a better GM than Beane. You're a frustrated fan, and your frustration is the only thing you can control." Which pulls chuckleheads like Badol out of the basement to let everyone know that I'm just a homer who even supported Tom Donahoe. Jeez, man, I support everyone at OBD because I have no intention of not following the team. Common sense is simply lost on them. -

The death of BBMB caused a wicked infestation over there, and it's almost like reading leftist political posts: they hate everything about everything, but have no basic, simple ability to understand that no one is making them follow the team. They believe we're two years into a rebuild and should have things fixed by now. And heaven forbid you voice something like "Yes, the team sucks, but what did you expect?" They trash you for being a homer, and never admitting the team has problems, and they know better than you because they successfully predict failure in the NFL, which is literally the single easiest thing a fan can do. -

Go to TBD and follow Badol. They kind of run neck and neck with really bad posts. -

I have no idea who the hell that guy is, but I was somehow reminded I haven't watched "The Lost Boys" in a while. -
It's unfortunate I can't post over here without you jumping in every time to piss on whatever I write. You do it because...well....I can only imagine you do it so I'll stop posting here. So that's what I'll do for a while. Enjoy.

Paul Krugman goes full retard. -
It's always interesting to me how desperately some of you hate everything to do with this team, to the extent that you'll make really long lists of everything wrong, then yell at people who don't need the long list, then explain how the entire franchise is a piece of schitt, right before you watch the team again on Sunday. Says more about you than it will ever say about the team. Let me do this more slowly and more simply so you might be able to comprehend it. I know the team sucks. There is nothing I can do about it other than follow or not follow. I choose to follow. Which means being a whiny little b*tch who has to list stats to prove a point the whole sports world knows is not my cup of tea. But you, on the other hand, are damn good at. Keep up the good work.

That's my area. Held by Ed Royce for years. The dude running against her, Gil Cisneros, is a real piece of work, but he'll likely beat her. You can only receive so many flyers of "Kim will kill children" before people start believing it. -
Way long before. But you haven't missed anything. He's like your great-grandmother's music box. No matter how old it is, when you wind it up and open the top, he continually pops up dressed in a tutu, twirling to the same song over and over and over. But he loves me for some reason because whenever I post something, he comes out of the woodwork twirling around as if no one has heard his song before, mumbles something about Donahoe and then climbs back into his box.

I agree with all of this. In the end, my issue is with people coming to the board demanding everyone be fired after a loss. It's just tiresome. I understand the frustration, but as I mentioned elsewhere, if a fan's plan is to stay around and just be miserable week in and week out, why bother? And if you are going to bother, why bother everyone else with the same dribble? That's all, really. It's tough to be a Bills fan. We get it. When you're in a room with a bunch of hungry people, the one you want to throw out is the one who keeps yelling, "Oh, I'm soooooooooo hungry!" No schitt. We're all hungry. Shut up and be hungry, or if you're going to say something, have a solution. For what it's worth, the best way to really see the futility is, inadvertently, through a Twitter account @BillsTouchdown. They post a Bills TD a day, usually against the team the Bills are playing in the current week. At first it was fun because they really go into the vaults, but after a while, you start to sense a terrible pattern. Doug Flutie QB sneak Kelly to Lofton EJ Manual end around JP Losman to Josh Reed Kelly Holcomb to Eric Moulds Trent Edwards to Fred Jackson Peterman to Benjamin Tyrod to Percy Harvin Carale Jones to Jarrett Boykin Fitzpatrick to Stevie Johnson To Peerless Orton to Sammy Bledsoe to Peerless Jeff Tuel to Da'Rick Rogers Gibran Hamdan to Shawn Nelson The number of QBs this team has chewed through is mind-boggling. I remain cautiously optimistic for Allen and the staff in place. But in no way is there enough evidence to gut everything again.

Yeah, let's screw with battered women. Brilliant move. F off you nutbags. -
Why are you embarrassed? Is your identity so tied to the team that the state of the team makes it difficult for you to go out in public? Do women scorn you because of your team? Do you find yourself unable to work because of your team? Why are you embarrassed? Then again, ask yourself three questions. Can you change it? No. Can you live with it? If the answer is no, then the third question is "Why are you still here? It's your choice. No one is holding a gun to your head." If the answer is yes, then you live with it, enjoy what you can, dismiss what you can't, and move along. I'm not ashamed to say one of my absolute favorite Bills memories of all times -- and I've been following the team for over 40 years -- was the locker room video after the Miami game. I'd gladly go through this season knowing there will be another moment like that one day. And there will. And look on the bright side. At least you don't return here after every week demanding every be fired. Because man, that's just tired, right coach?
-
You keep mumbling, but all I hear is "Daddy, I want an oompa loompa NOW!" Here's the deal...real simply. Any thinking person knew the team was not going to be good this year. Yes, the offense is worse than expected. Yes, it can be embarrassing. Will it stay like this forever? No. You watch with an eye on progress. You hope to get Allen more reps and hope the game slows down for him. You hope the cap space and picks next year bolster the OL and get a decent #1 receiver who wants to play. But in the end, in any situation like this, whether it's a bad sports team or a even a bad job or a bad boss, if you're honest with yourself, you only have to ask yourself a few simple questions. (1) Can you change it? (2) Can you live with it? How you answer those two questions determines if there is a third question. Think about it. But stop whining about people who aren't as critical as you want them to be. It's ridiculous and accomplishes nothing, unless you come here to vent instead of kick your dog, in which case, stop kicking your dog.

Did I read that right? She came in through Kamala Harris' office, right? The same Kamala Harris who edited a video of Kavanaugh and tried to pass it off as Kavanaugh lying? That chick is some shicttbag piece of work. At least you have to respect her campaign: Harris For US Senate: "Who do I have to blow to get a Senate seat around here?"
-
Oh, please. What are you, 12? I never said anything like that, and yet you somehow felt the need to go full-goose-bozo extreme to make a ridiculously sarcastic point that barely registers as a complete thought. Riling up fans on a losing team is one of the easiest things you can do. Half the sports writers covering the BIlls make a living at it. That was my point. Can we not try a little harder around here? Yep. I was right the first time. You're 12. Neither Augie nor I said anything of the sort. Grow the hell up or at least think before you post.
