Leonard Fournette suspended one game
IDBillzFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't believe how dumb he was. He was literally their entire offense yesterday. -
Embarrassing sports admissions
IDBillzFan replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in Off the Wall Archives
May not be what you're after, but... A few years back I coached a youth flag football team. It wasn't a league in which you tried out. You just got put on a team. Our team was terrible, but everyone got to be involved and get hands on the ball as a running back or receiver. We had one kid who was meant to keep the water chilled. Jumbo and simply unable to understand his role in any capacity. We always gave him a running play, and his flag inevitably was pulled at the moment he realized a football was in his hand. Our last game of the season, after calling Jumbo's number in a running play, the coach from the other team came over and said to run the play again and his guys would give Jumbo a chance to, y'know, feel like he could play. So we run the play, Jumbo lumbered up the middle like Fat Albert on meth, and the entire opposing team turn into the keystone cops as Jumbo ran the length of the field for a TD. Everyone cheered and celebrated and high-fived, and it was just one of those feel good moments to end the season. At the post-game party, Jumbo's mom came up and wanted know why we didn't realize how good Jumbo was and waited until the last game to let him show his stuff. I thought she was joking. She wasn't. I shouldn't have laughed, but I did, and when I realized she was serious, well...y'know...kind of embarrassing. -
Andy Dalton Out for the Season with a Thumb Injury
IDBillzFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, if we were just patient, we could have traded them Peterman for a pick. I am SO done with the clown car that is the Bills front office. -
The people marching to the boarder ???
IDBillzFan replied to mead107's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know. I mean, the evidence is overwhelmingly clear. If you're conscious enough to post on a message board, you should be conscious enough to know staged photos. -
Maybe it was me, but watching Lawson in the tunnel after the fight, being held back like he wanted to go at Fournette again, made me somehow think of Dr. Evil on Jerry Springer.

I have to imagine it's hard to dump a guy who got you one game away from the SB just one year ago.

Just saw Dalton is done for the year with a broken thumb. Kinda sucks for Cincy fans.

GM Cutting Over Fourteen Thousand Jobs
IDBillzFan replied to Warren Zevon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The downside is that so many people are about to lose their jobs. The upside is that the rest of the country is hiring and wages keep increasing. Sounds like an opportunity for 15,000 people. -
The people marching to the boarder ???
IDBillzFan replied to mead107's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
One of the more embarrassing parts of this is how everyone on the left just ignores how staged this all is. It's genuinely embarrassing. People like Tibs and Peace out and TH3 should be calling out this garbage because their cause is lost when it's so blatantly faked, and all it does is support the Trump narrative of "Fake News." But no. They accept how fake this all is because Orange Man Bad. The greater good. Or something equally embarrassing. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Get Aboard the Josh Allen Train”
IDBillzFan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First, thanks for your excellent write-up. Second, I hope those convinced that the process sucks and that the coaches suck and Allen is mediocre at best will take a moment to reflect on how many times in the past that the series of events above would send a Bills team spiraling. This was the moment, most Bills fans would agree, that the Jags would score, the Bills would stumble, and the game would be lost for lack of focus and composure. These are the moments I look at to see what kind of team is being built by McBeane, and suffice it to say, if you still hate what McBeane is doing after yesterday's game, you may want to look inward for the problem. That is all. Oh, please. It was better than most anything I'm going to read at BN or that other sports website that took all the BN people. You can open the thread, look, close and move on. Give it a try. -
Nice game but Allen needs to pass
IDBillzFan replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's progressing, which is all anyone can expect or hope for this year. Go into the offseason knowing you have your quarterback, and the cap room/picks for next year can be for OL, WR, etc. -

I'll never understand why some people measure a quarterback's success by how many 300 yard games he has. Having big breasts doesn't make you pretty. -
There is no way we will beat the Jaguars

No need. I'm a lot of things around here, but you'll never find me here after a win trying to temper anyone's enthusiasm. I leave that to the Cheerios Pisser Brigade.
-
Relax. I was just bustin' on PearlHowardman. If you don't like Josh Allen, you have other things on your mind.
-
Correction: He was the 'average' heart and soul of the offense. Raise your standards!

History will not judge him well. Even with Obama.org and a Netflix production team. People will look back on him in 20 years and his resume will start with "First black president" and end with "FUBAR'ed US health care." If he's lucky, they'll forget the Fruit Loops in the bath interview.

Like I said, I represent what you hate, and you hate it because it wrecks the part of your follow-the-herd thinking that says people like me accomplished things exclusively because of white male privilege. You're nothing more than an "I'm with Her" sticker on a Bernie Bros bumper on an Obama cash for clunker being driven off a cliff by an Ocasio-Cortez explanation of how government should work. What I think is we make our own path, and choose to crawl, walk or run on it. My toughest journey took place in the 60s-80s. I can point to specific people who helped me, not because of my gender or skin color, but because they saw me trying and gave a hand up. In spite of my efforts, along the way I lost jobs to blacks and women. I've been hired by blacks and women. I still lose jobs to blacks and women because my company is neither minority- nor female-owned (though it easily could be), so when I bid projects, I'm already at a disadvantage by the times bids are submitted. Here is the truth that is constantly snuffed out: what makes life difficult for people is much less about gender or skin color and much more about who raises you. My father was a terrible father of six who married a woman with four other kids a month after my mother died because he was too selfish to think otherwise. But people in my life -- white, black, female, you name it -- saw what happened, and stepped in to help me along the way. And they kept helping me up because I kept trying to climb. If I refused to climb, they likely would have put their efforts elsewhere. Lastly, I've argued for years that Barack Obama missed his opportunity to be the single most influential black man, surpassing even Martin Luther King. In a country where 72% of black children are born to single moms, Obama chose identity politics. He could have worked the neighborhoods, showing young black kids what a purposeful effort looks like. Challenged black men to be fathers to their kids. Explained how excuses and yelling "I'm a victim!" is a waste of time. He missed it and it's too bad. In the end, banging the 'white male privilege' drum is the work of a simple mind. It does nothing to help. It only excuses. Which is why I find people like Paulus to be part of the problem. He judges on what he expects, not what he knows. Simple and lazy. Which is why I could never be a Democrat.
-
My favorite part of this is watching people get in such a frenzy about how we treat black people, that they realize the only way to stop it is to segregate blacks from whites so the white man will learn his lesson once and for all. You can't pay for that kind of entertainment.

You judgmental little prick. I'm a 3rd gen Italian who looked every bit the part growing up. I was kicked out of my house at 16 by an abusive father and drunk step-mother. I lived in a pool supply-shed turned into a bedroom at a motel run by one of my high school teachers until I graduated high school, working after school at the motel during school and working fair concessions all over the NE during the summers. I worked three jobs to put myself through college, making sure at least one of them was in the food industry so I could eat. Everything I have came from working my ass off and making sure I kept stupidity to a minimum. And it came not because I was white and not because I had a penis because I never stopped trying to better my situation. I took jobs that sucked, moved to cities I hated, worked for people I didn't respect, all with an eye on improving my lot in life. In fact, I represent everything a leftist like you hates: hard working, self-sufficient and self-accountable. You need victims, not success stories. And I'm not victim of anything but my own decisions. So put your embarrassing, predictable charade of "happy white male" life on mute because you literally have no idea what you the f8ck you're talking about.

Who recalls this game from Thanksgiving in 1976?
IDBillzFan replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only Bills Thanksgiving game I can really remember was against the Lions in 1994. Flea flicker by backup Kreig on the second play pretty much set the tone. Such a crappy game. -
The problem is that you're standing in judgement of others based on what YOU think should be acceptable, and when it's not in alignment with your thinking, it's considered not healthy and the sign of a 'sick society.' Likewise, you say that only the ignorant or daft would think their job was good enough to warrant working overtime when offered. The moment I first realized the benefits of working overtime, I couldn't get enough. The effort to go from straight time to time-and-a-half and double-time was nominal relative to the benefits. My brother just retired from the postal service and he took every hour he could get to pay off his house, put his kids through school, and not have his wife have to take a job. Yet he was home when he wanted and needed to be, and is in a great place in his life. Not to mention, working extra hours when possible always set me up for a promotion. Always. 8-5'ers were always 8-5'ers. You may not agree with people working the holidays or shopping for deals, but to suggest it's odd because you wouldn't do it says more about you than it does about the people eager to work and shop.

Why should it come back to that question? It makes no sense. The questions has always been "Who wants to earn extra cash today? or "Who wants to save a few bucks on a TV?" It doesn't need to be anything other than a day ending with a "Y" to have people raise their hands for either. Sometimes...most of the times, in fact...it's just people who like either of those. I have an employee who can't wait to battle at Best Buy when it opens. I have friends whose would gladly earn double time to work Thanksgiving. None of them are desperate. If you want to see desperate, drive through downtown LA this morning. That's desperate.
