Nice thread. I agree with you. Keep PW for a decent contract #. Also, I've read elsewhere that DT is one of a very few positions that a GOOD rookie can actually come in and start or contribute the first year. There simply are not nuances to this position that exist for many others. Especially for a run support type of player.

WR Josh Reed - $855,000 - $400,000 hit if released

Exactly. He drops and many as he catches. Well, almost. He had like 16 or 17 catches last year and about half as many drops. -

Good point. I have read that besides the obvious, they didn't want to keep Bledsoe because they are going to run a different offense better suited to Losman. What does this mean? -

Perhaps. He is a 3rd option at best. Why not take a chance with somebody who has some upside. I don't think JR is an NFL receiver and he has no speed. How many catches does he need this year to justify keeping him? -

When will he be released? Seems like the Bills could save some money or sign another 3rd wide-out that can actually catch the ball. -

I don't know. Who else was available? And what do you mean turn the team around immediately? Four years, two head coaches and three QBs later: one (1) winning season? TD should get credit for cleaning up the cap mess. -

I thought it was a good trade, however that was based on my perception that Bledsoe was a great QB. I hadn't really scouting him or done any research. -

Let's see. Travis Henry, gone. Drew Bledsoe, gone. No first round pick in 2005. Net result of TD's moves: 26-38 Spin that. -

I don't recall anyone else stepping up to STEAL him, much less trade a first round pick. Wast hindsight that NE let him go? -
Someone on nthe board will know. I can tell you one thing, I bet he is still with the team and has three rings.
-
Drew Bledsoe. Yeah, the guy who everyone wants us to stop talking about. Why isn't anyone upset about our GM giving up a first round pick for a guy who is washed up. We now have nothing to show for it. If we cut a first round pick after three years, we would be calling for TDs head. What gives? Oh, and he will probably end the career of "The Tuna" in Dallas.
-
Hey, he's been gone for what, two days. We had to watch that crap for three years and hear about "executing better" and BS about "needed to make more plays" and a whole lot more. It'll be about a work for everyone to work that mistake out of our systems. Oh yeah, we gave up a first round pick for him, remember?
-
Bledsoe sucks. He is finished. End of story.
-
Thank you. I will no longer start a thread about Bledsoe. Unless he really stinks it up in Dallas.

Wow. Had to take care of some busniess. Where is CentralVA, having a coronary? If you want $100, get a yob! What about the other stats I posted: 5 TDs is ridiculous, what about the others? I'll take $ 100 on each one, and still make out good. And hey, I'm not the one who is "shocked and angry" about being cut, and who was it that said "this is my team"? I can bash whoever I want because I buy tickets. And who posts 100 times/day?
-
Don't try to heckle me, I'm a "CARNI"!!! Seriously though, 5 TDs may be a bit low, however consider these: 1. I think our O-Line is probably better than Cowboys. 2. Dallas won't be playing the entire NFC West next year. 3. Bledsoe at LEAST has WM to run and # 80 and # 81 to catch TD passes.

Step right up LA, win a HUGE comb or a stuffed snake for the little lady. Take a shot, don't be shy.

3500 yards? Are you serious. Who is he going to throw to?
-
Wow, you're really going out on a limb!!!

I think if he starts say 14 games, we will see the following: 5 TDs 10 Picks 4 fumbles 45 sacks *** and slightly below his career 76.7 QB rating. Oddly enough, he had only four (4) seasons with a QB rating above that. 9.17 Million Dollar Cap Hit For Mike Williams...
San-O replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was # 4 overall I think when drafted. TD must have envisioned him as a starting LT at some point, which will never happen. I think this is yet another case of TD drafting a guy and hoping to turn him into something esle at the Pro level. Just doesn't seem to work. I would also be interested to know where WM falls in terms of RT salaries. -

TD should be absolutely SHOT for this if true. Where are the TD spinners now. -
Why would we ever Tag JJ. Did he make it to the Pro Bowl while I wasn't watching. Isn't he like an above average left tackle who misses several games each year. He had a nice year in 2004, a contract year. Let someone else overpay for him. You wouldn't see NE pay a player like him.
