  1. I think if the Bills were smart, they would avoid the situation all together: do not REACH for Kelly, and try to trade down to pick up additional selections and possibly still get a receiver in the 1st round. This team is not one or two players away from winning a playoff game, they're just not.
  2. Because the secondary sucks?
  3. I'm also afraid we're going to start hearing about a rookie O.C., and a first year starter at QB, and a new system, and a new O-line coach, and possibly a rookie WR and TE, and it will be "wait until next year" again. All of these actually are very valid points. It's been that way for almost a decade.
  4. Jauron's teams typically lose.
  5. Yes, ignore the facts: Buffalo was ranked 29'th in the league against the pass in 2007. I'm sure it had nothing to do with Clements being gone either. So now we're supposed to factor in age? I'll tell you another thing right now: the Bills "hydra" GM better get it together quick, because Parcells and Miami aren't waiting for another Buffalo/Donahoe five year plan to get a team into the playoffs. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?arc...amp;Submit=Find
  6. With Youboty being buried on the depth chart, and maybe Simpson joining him, AND with the apparent reach for Whitner, the 2006 Marv Levy draft is starting to look not so hot. http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft...0&type=team There are 2 first round picks starting, for the 2nd worst D in the league in 2007, which is somewhat misleading, but I don't see McCargo or Whitner as anything near difference makers. Flame away.
  7. I would subscribe to those alliances, as well as the "don't tell me the offense is all of the sudden going to be much better alliance". Anything would be an improvment, as this offense was basically the bottom of the league for two years. I'll give the Bills 1 additional win for losing Fairchild, however need to see that D.J. is going to let the new guy actually call some plays. Oh, I almost forgot, I am also a member of the "why did Marv feel it necesssary to wildly overpay for Kelsay and Schobel" alliance.
  8. What will happen to Simpson?
  9. Horrible post. Sorry I read this.
  10. Kind of like thunder and lightning? But more like drizzle and sprinkle!
  11. LOL. That's not crazy, that's insane. Wait...., um...
  12. I also agree. Seems like a perfect spot, getting past the true blue chip players, and still high enough that someone will probably fall into that area. Seems like someone always does for one reason or another. The other thing is, unless one of the D-linemen falls, Buffalo really would have to look at trading down as the draft may be deepest in the WR spot, which most concede is Buffalo's largest are of need. If they could trade down and get decent value, pick up two WR's on the first day, I would concider that a great draft: stategically anyhow. For what it's worth, I have always felt the draft is a numbers game: get as many quality players on the first day as you can, because you are going to miss on some inevitably. Also, as the team gets better, the chance of lower round players even making the team decreases.
  13. Good points, well said. I still think the secoundary as a whole is the weak link of the current defenese. Also, if someone goes down, you're back to John Wendling, George Wilson or Ashton Youboty. Not pretty.
  14. You may want to check the stats. Against the pass, Buffalo was horrible last year. Actually, they were slightly better against the run. Teams threw and ran at will basically, however I don't believe the secoundary will hold up, and with imprved D-line and healthy front seven, this will be exposed. IMHO. P.S. I also think they are not happy with Youboty, who appears to be a bust.
  15. I also would not have a big problem drafting an O lineman or even better a D lineman, however I kind of doubt this is going to happen.
  16. Well, that's good, because they succeeded in not stopping the run.
  17. Well, yeah. Can't get much worse than 28'th in the league. But I see your point. That's why I created a poll.
  18. ??? Don't know what you are talking about. The question, is by NOT drafting a D-lineman day one and drafting a LB day one, going to improve the run from 28'th to what? Seems pretty straight forward, I actually think we need both.
  19. So, you believe drafting a stud LB to start will improve the run defense from 28'th to what?
  20. Yeah, sorry about that. I should have included an option not to draft a D-lineman at all. We do have 4 picks day one. Can't edit the poll.
  21. As do I, however that is why I wanted to do a poll. I think we may be in the minority. Just can't see this current group, even with Walker, being that much different than last year.
  22. An interior D-lineman I would expect. You really think adding Walker is going to move this unit up in the run defense area? Again, Buffalo finished 28-th in the leaugue. Where do you actually think they will be this year with the current group? Honestly? 25 - 20 in the NFL?
  23. I really think the D-line needs more help. Buffalo finished 28'th against the run last year. 140 yards / game. Adding Darwin Walker is not going to propel this unit to the top of the league in this category, or even the middle of the pack. IMO.
  24. http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/expert/brandt/cb Doesn't mention if this year is considered deep at this position. Would like to find something on that.
  25. I am starting to think you are correct, and this would be a serious error in judgement IMO. The run defense of this team is not going to improve from 28'th in the league, giving up 140 yards / game, to even anywhere near the middle of the pack adding one FA to the mix. Signing Tim Anderson was also a good indication, and a bad move I think.
