Not finding a QB who can lead and win games with his arm.
Being a bottom 1/3 spender in relation to salary cap ceiling.
Having coaches who aren't capable of beating quality teams / coaches on the road.
Not stopping the run. We've been terrible in this regard.
I agree. However Mike Mularkey & Gregg Williams & Dick Jauron & Chan Gailey were not the guys who were going to bring us back to contention.
I feel with Marrone we at least have an identity on offense, & our defense has been staffed with great coordinators who have a good scheme of what it takes to be successful. The only thing that makes me scratch my head is retaining Danny Crossman.
The Alamo Dome was built in 1993 seats 65,000 & cost $314 million in today's dollars. Populous was the architect. That seems a bit low, when we keep hearing $1 billion for a new Bills stadium.
Manuel's only hope is to emulate the early days of Big Ben. That would be high teens for touchdowns and under 10 interceptions. Limit the turnovers and 3 and outs, while improving redzone touchdown % and we have a chance.
The second reviewer was much more descriptive.
The parts that concerned me in 2013 & today were slow reads, shuts down when taking hard coaching, doesn't have natural leadership skills.
"We've basically found it in every population we've looked at. If we tested Africans, we think we'd find it in them, too."
Apparently they haven't tested Africans. I volunteer Cordy. I wouldn't have taken Beerball as the type to post from NPR, maybe the NRA, so I'm impressed.
Speculate all what you want about the source, it seems to me that he could be a "defender" of the CFL as a recent article posited an NFL team in Toronto would spell the end of the CFL.
Tebow should have heeded Kurt Warner's advice and gone to the arena league. Warner said his game was molded by the league & having to make quick decisions and fit passes into tight windows.
I like the name "The Predator". Hear me out, Sammy's got the frame, incredible athletcism, power, agility, speed, and to top it off the cool predator-like dread locks.
There's a good chance that EJ will develop into a better QB this year. Whether that translates into W's remains to be seen.
As others have said Nick Foles & Russell Wilson were far from "sure fire" picks in 2012. They ended up with offensive geniuses for coaches and had time to develop, with Foles sitting the majority of 2012, and Wilson being asked to throw on average 24.5 times per game. In his 10 starts in 2013 EJ threw 30.6 times per game.
As for EJ in 2013, it seems to me that EJ could be more effective if our defense can force more 3 and outs and give our offense better field position. I like the continued focus on developing a bigger OLine that can engulf defense's front 7's in the run game. Adding Watkins as a relief valve was huge, as will be the addition of Mike Williams who has more athleticism than Stevie Johnson.
The better question is why does an independent football analyst who is paid to be a reporter by ESPN, sound like a rah-rah cheerleader when talking about the JBJ group?
Yeah turns 27 in Sept. I find it odd that they would jettison their Mike LB who is in the prime of his career. This could be more of personality clash with Belichick as rumors indicated they feuded off and on throughout his tenure in Cheatriots land.
