Stats are always more meaningful when you win. Thurman's 1000 yard seasons & Andre's 1000 yard seasons vs Spiller's & Johnson's seem more meaningful.

Should have said borderline #8-#5 seed. Out of playoffs or wild card. The QB position must be the fundamental building block. If you go get a guy who is 30 or older & you just make it to the playoffs it's unlikely you can sustain this level over 5 seasons. See Arizona (Warner), Bills (Bledsoe), Favre (Minnesota), Favre (Jets), Montana (Chiefs), Palmer (Oakland). With a rookie QB you get 5-8 seasons before your guy turns 30. With a team like the 49ers or Denver who made the playoffs in 2011 inspite of their QBs Smith / Tebow, then it makes sense to go get Peyton Manning. The Bills haven't proven they can get close to the playoffs with talent around a mediocre QB, so it doesn't make much sense to add a veteran QB. By the time the rest of the team would be built the QB would be well past their prime.

Lets use Drew Bledsoe for comparison. In 2001 the Bills went 3-13. In 2002 with Bledsoe as QB the Bills went 8-8. Let's say for arguments sake the Bills got a veteran QB like Phillip Rivers or Tony Romo. I think we'd have won another 3-4 games. Even a blow out like the Jets game would be in play. The problem is these guys just get you to the level of a #6 playoff seed.

Remember how analysts talked about Chris Carter? They always pointed out his boundary catching ability. SJunotres has this ability. But Stevie has an element Carter lacked: the shake-n-bake route or dare i say "the Ricky Bobby". I'd like to see more Stevie passes to the boundary like Carter. In fact Brian Billick the coach of Chris Carter & a coach who wanted the Buffalo HC job would be a good fit for Stevie. Pass catching is an art as Chris Carter once said. I feel Stevie's routes are an art to behold.
