  1. All good points. I just think in Young’s rookie season, we saw everything that justifies him being an elite pass rusher. I would give him a pass on the last two years due to injuries. And even if he busts, the risk isn’t that high— an extra year. If he returns to form though next year, the free agent price tag for an elite DE is super high. That said, I don’t follow WFT closely, and so can’t speak to his character or effort.
  2. Spot on. I guess “drought” was the perfect word. We got thirstier and thirstier all the while.
  3. This would be super dumb of the Redskins to not pick up that 5th year.
  4. Amazingly, I think the drought years hardened my resolve and made me more invested and addicted to the team. I sometimes wonder if had we had more success whether I might be more apathetic as a fan.
  5. yeah, you could be right. I am going to call DTV here to see if I can squeeze them for a deal for a few months, and then see about switching over in the summer.
  6. Had to miss this one. For some reason, I no longer get ESPN-U. So they looked good?
  7. I would feel better if they could pinpoint the cause a little more, but that may be impossible.
  8. My gut instinct is that you all are switching too soon. YouTube may have a sweetener for Sunday ticket next summer— ie, sign up for YouTube and get discount for ticket.
  9. agreed. What is troubling though is I felt everyone beat the drum of returning to a shorter, quick release game plan the second half of the season, and yet they never did. I just don’t get it at all.
  10. that’s the first thing I noticed too. Our offense the second half of this past season just went into bizzaro world.
  11. i just found a little highlight clip on twitter from the game, and added to my post above. Be still, my heart!
  12. if that was the year when we played the Niners in Arizona, then I agree. I absolutely loved that win. Josh was so insanely dialed in.
  13. I just got some new pro viX’s for Christmas I am going to try out this summer. I have used a few here and there with great results, but never have really sprung for a dozen before. Excited to use them. (I usually would play with refurbished Calloway’s, which I have found to be hit and miss)… though I am a mid-high handicapper, so it is probably my own poor play more than any ball.
  14. I am actually not a big John Williams fan (just because a lot of his music blends together). But this is one of his best, and some of the slower aspects of the main theme are pretty beautiful.
  15. Down year from Gabe, for sure. But you all forget some of the insanely difficult and huge catches he made this past year too. As I recall, he made some game-saving 3rd and 20 diving caches, and some really acrobatic and big play ones too (eg, both TDs in the Steelers game). Also, the loss of a true slot this year with the Crowder injury really shouldn’t be held against Gabe. There are things he can improve on, but he is a hard worker and has shown enough flashes to be our #2.
  16. I am thinking he gets like $12m or $13m per year, and not going to get a lot of years on it (like 2-4 years). Consider too the market is going to be absolutely flooded with free agent running backs this year.
  17. Whoever gets him will get him at a pretty bargain deal. No one is paying for RBs anymore.
  18. Full disclosure— I think with the exception of Dion Waiters, I thought every former Syracuse underclassman should have stayed! So I am a little biased. Good point Re his FT shooting and touch. I suspect JB doesn’t want him taking a bunch of 15-footers.
  19. really terrific game by him, including even passing and on D. I actually think today is a pretty good indicator of his potential, as it was one of the few times he wasn’t regularly doubled. He is not going to get double teamed in the pros. I still think though he could really benefit from staying and developing an outside shot, and maybe adding more beef to his frame.
  20. Given the weather too, this was the obvious gameplan. Look at what the bengals did— just very simple quick stuff and then guys made defenders miss with a move in the snow. I don’t get it, because the first few games of the year, we were all over the quick stuff. And then we added a Hines who is perfect for it also.
  21. I may wait on canceling DTV. I am hoping that YouTube has some deal with new subscribers involving Sunday ticket. Gonna wait and see.
  22. You can both draft great players and “trust the process”— ie, draft those great players that are good guys that buy into the culture and don’t have a host of baggage or off field issues. I like how this team won’t go near the Tyreek Hills, Kareem Hunts, Frank Clark’s, and Joe Mixons of the world. I am not cheering for guys that beat their pregnant girlfriends. And those are the same guys that when they aren’t winning, they are causing locker room problems.
  23. “terrible golfer” is harsh and not accurate. He is a great golfer. Yeah, he is not a pro and hitting par or under on a professional course. But I am betting he is a super low handicap based on what I have seen. He wouldn’t even be allowed to play at these pro ams if he wasn’t a single handicapper. To each his own on golf. But I can say that it is an extraordinarily difficult sport, and that’s why these pro athletes love it. It is nearly impossible to truly master— always working to get better.
