I think the quick twitch injuries (Achilles, calf, hamstring, groin) can be avoided with a much better flexibility and stretching program. These guys also need to better understand their bodies and how to avoid some of these.
his calves are probably way too tight and he maybe didn’t stretch enough. These pass rushers should basically be stretching those calves constantly throughout the entire game!
AJE also basically slammed him down once, landing on his shoulder with all his weight. I thought that would be a possible separated shoulder and a roughing call for sure.
Agreed. But I think they had a ton of success on first down. Chiefs definitely stiffened up in the second half and we did get into second and long a few times. But more often than not, we were getting 3-5 yards on 1st down.
I think there is a direct correlation between that commitment to the run and Josh ending up with basically 2-3 incompletions all game.
I will defend Brady a little bit here. It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to stick to the run like that. Maybe they could have mixed up their running plays. But the commitment to the run was impressive. Allowed us to control the clock, and get us in 3rd and manageable.
