Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)

agreed. His ability to play ST means he should get on the field immediately. Also, we only need him to run some GO routes to clear some space. Just go deep! -

Good little breakdown. The easy underneath stuff is there with these receivers. -

to me, there is no material difference between shaheed and hardman. They need a guy to stretch the field. Both guys can do it. -
Imagine paying a guy $55 million, and then benching him!!

And we used to make fun of Glass Goodwin! That guy was more durable than half this team! -

Hardeman is pretty selfish. Only signing to get yet another SB Ring to add to his collection. -

Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, but that is a little misleading. When we run 12 and 13 personnel, the box is always going to be naturally stacked. I think there were three problems with our run game: 1) too much inside stuff. Where were all the outside pitches? We only ran that a few times, and it worked well when we did (and drew a penalty once). 2) the Miami LBs just did a nice job. I don’t know if it was run blitzing or just shooting the gaps, but they really did a good job at getting stops. 3) didn’t really commit to the run game and got off schedule too much.- 80 replies

Trubisky to Shavers!! Our next iteration of Kelly to Reed!!
-
I suspect last game it was Brady. This is me guessing— but I think they thought they could beat Miami’s corners with our receivers and so it was a good game to try to get our receivers going. Well, our receivers still stink, Miami’s corners outplayed them, and the bills just needed to go back to their bread and butter of heavy personnel and running. (They actually did later and it worked, but then we had the pick and fumble).

i thought our D was good most of the day. They got gassed late and gave up those big runs. Bigger issue was the O. -
same here! I think those drought years are my football formative years (my 20s and 30s). I remember guys like Keith Ellison vividly too!

are you referring to Keith Ellison?! That’s quite the flash from the past comparison!

in the past, we had the players and the style on O where if we were inconsistent, we could cover over it with some big splash plays. Not anymore. We have to execute all the little stuff at a high level with the style of offense they now want to play. -

Thinking about this more, the roster has sort of been built because of how defenses have been playing us for several years— stop all big plays. We are now built to pound the rock and win with ball control and defense. It’s actually a winning formula, but it depends on a high level of execution and patience. We can’t commit penalties, be behind the sticks, and commit turnovers. We have to be patient and innovative with the run game and using the RBs and TE’s in the passing game. Today, it was a mess because of the sloppy execution and game script.
