  1. Baseball. I was a pretty terrible little leaguer. I could never really judge a fly ball, was always afraid of getting hit while at bat, developed chuck knoblock throwing errors when playing 2nd base, and at best hit a single to right here and there. that said, playing little league was also probably one of the most important developmental experiences of my life. Taught me that there are some things in life that I am definitely going to be bad at, but I still need to work hard and have a positive attitude and deal with it.
  2. Here’s some free golf advice. i have noticed the main problem former baseball players have with playing golf is they grip the golf club too tightly, and they swing with too much tension in their forearms arms. Relax those arms and your grip, and I bet you the slicing works its way out.
  3. Probably one of my favorite bills is McGee! I feel like I watch highlights of him still every month or so.
  4. I am not a huge hockey guy, though my favorite player is Crosby. I will say that it is weird how Ovi, for all the goals, has so few assists. It’s a real statistical anomaly, given how often the puck is on his stick.
  5. i felt the same. I knew Clayton would make some big shots at the end, and he did. Had that big 3, and two “and one’s” down the stretch. the thing that annoyed me though about Houston was their second half offensive sets. Those high ball screens and handoffs way out by half court were a total mess. They got away from what worked— just spread the floor and get it inside to your Bigs. Also, 21 on Houston (sharp) was a total train wreck all game. Then he made two colossal errors at the end. Tried too hard on an off night and played hero ball.
  6. agreed. Those Houston bricks were wild. Some were like a full 3 feet off mark. And multiple guys were missing wildly like that!
  7. What the heck did I just watch? Brick city — wow!
  8. I am going to be glad when all these covid kids run out of eligibility and stop ruining college basketball!
  9. isn’t he like 30 years old by now?!
  10. after posting about this a few days ago and basically taking 3 months off of watching it, I started it back up. Just plowing through the rest of season 4 now. it started out so great! The twists now though are just way too much.
  11. it honestly should go down as one of the biggest choke jobs of all time, especially considering the talent Duke had out on the floor. I do think Flagg’s last shot was not a smart play. That’s a play you run with 3 seconds left, and you have only one option. Duke had 17 seconds left and could have easily just run their normal set and looked for an open shot. They made no contested outside shots all game— so they think suddenly Flagg is going to hit his first pressure shot of the year one on one, fading away with a hand in his face? Low odds.
  12. Wow— sort of an epic choke job by Duke. Up by 7 points with a minute left, and they lose the game. Brutal FT miss, trouble on the inbounds, and suspect over the back call. i will say I didn’t care for Duke’s last shot. Flagg is being guarded by their center. Blow by him! Get to the rim! Sort of settled for a 15-foot fade away there.
  13. wow— seems like a great get. I have to think we are upping our NIL money.
  14. speaking of Lost, I finally decided in the last few months to watch that show after never having seen it ever before. Made it through middle of season 4, and have gotten pretty tired of the twists. Not sure I can finish it!
  15. I have probably seen articles from about 15 teams’ beat writers all saying that their team should be taking Kenneth grant from Michigan. Everyone in the 15-30 range seems to think he is their guy!
  16. Can’t believe I am saying this, but the cowboys take some solid calculated risks at the backup QB position. There is a lot of upside to go getting younger, talented raw prospects (Milton) or high-upside reclamation projects (lance) at backup QB.
  17. Milton is an absolute stud. Doesn’t matter that we had backups and a vanilla defense. His poise and accuracy and throws on the run were elite in that game. To get a guy with that upside for a 5th, is a steal. No risk for the cowboys.
  18. Can’t wait! just going to need to buy Netflix, YouTube TV, Amazon prime, peacock, paramount plus, Hulu, disney, and espn plus. Piece of cake. (Oh, and then odds are, the games will be on major holidays anyway, and so I won’t be able to see them).
  19. Fred McGriff supports Tom Emanski’s defensive drill skill videos, which produced back to back to back AAU national championship teams!
  20. NFL already ruined Christmas for the Steelers last year with the chiefs/steelers game on Christmas Day. I suspect we will see another team.
  21. I won’t watch this. But we actually should have won that game. Recall that horrible blindside block call on Dion near the end? I think that knocked us out of FG range.
  22. not only that, I found most of the games to be really sloppy. The MSU-Auburn game was unwatchable. my theory is that college bball now is all about these big rugged 23-year old transfers. At least, Houston, Texas Tech, and Auburn are built that way. There is a premium on physical defense and offensive rebounding. It sort of ends up drowning out a lot of the great athletic skill play. The athletic play is still there, but it’s sort of taken a back seat. Duke seems to be the exception this year, but that’s because they have three man-child freshmen that have the physicality of 23-year olds.
  23. I was totally against signing this guy last year. A mid receiver that looks good in a shanahan offense. Now, after an ACL… Most of these San Fran skill players are pretty mediocre if you take them out of that offense. No, thanks.
  24. i despise basketball reviews. They need to get rid of them all. The NBA is the worst. I hadn’t realized it had trickled down to the NCAA.
