San Fran has 4th and 4, and kicks a FG in OT. You can’t do that against Mahomes. The traditional rules don’t apply when you play him. Have to assume you cannot stop him— since no one can in the clutch— and just go for the TD.

good point.
-
They absolutely cannot let Mahomes get this ball back.
-
huh? It has been filled with fumbles and special teams gaffes. Lot of unforced errors by both teams. Sloppy play. Not a clean game at all.
-
Refs aren’t going to call any offensive holds tonight on either side, apparently.
-
it was terrible up until the last 10 minutes.
-
how was that Mahomes pass over the middle not IG?
-
it seemed like it went through like 4 hands. Lucked out.
-
Josh would be shredding this defense with design runs. Sour grapes, I know!
-
two across the field lateral throws from the 20 yard line (so not really a deep threat to draw the coverage out), to get that 2-man advantage is higher risk than reward. It worked, but some luck there though.
-
that was a lucky play more than anything else, IMO. Chiefs all around CMC. Could have been a pick.

I hope you are right and I am wrong. But I think we will see Kermit easily win another with a bunch of magical plays. And Purdy will fold under the pressure.
-
I am just popping in here to say that there is zero percent chance the Niners win. No one is stopping Mahomes. going to be an easy 10-point win.

Question for all would be doctors, for my mother.

I am no doctor, but I am one of those guys that constantly googles every ache and pain I get and thinks he is a doctor! i am wondering if it is just bad neuropathy from the diabetes. That strikes me as the most plausible explanation. The other thought is sciatica. Does she have back issues at all? -
Better effort from the team today, but they get bullied too much inside. Really need Brown at the 4, and some more size at the 5, and even at the 3 when Bell isn’t shooting well.

good point. It’s like he couldn’t help himself. I get it— Wilson hasn’t lived up to expectations. But you also retained several coordinators who were basically terrible at developing him. (The fact that Hackett is still a coach in the NFL just shows you how much of a nepotism problem the NFL has). -

The trashing of Zach Wilson by the owner is so lame. That organization ruined him, and he has never said a bad word about them. I really hope a team reclaims him and he sticks it to the jets. -
I never understood how people filed so early. I feel like we don’t get half of our tax documents until like March.

Great game by Bell and I will take the win. But this team has been dreadful recently on defense and the boards now for weeks. Allowing a bad Louisville team to out-rebound you by 20 and shoot over 60%? Ugh.
-
What an enigma. I would love to know the full story on him.
-
180?! I would have guessed 250ish too! He seemed like a beast.

good post! people forget that during the patriots dynasty, teams like the broncos, colts, and Steelers would sneak by the pats here and there. A lot of times is wasn’t because those teams were better; often, some other team upset the pats, and paved the way for those teams to get to the SB. would be nice if we had some luck like that, and someone else taking care of the chiefs for us.

I am thinking of Benitez when he was that new raw guy who would come in in the 8th inning to set up John Franco. he was such an exciting player then. But I agree that when he shifted to being a closer, it was too up and down. also, how about some love for Dennis Cook?! Cookie was the ying to Wendell’s Yang. Loved those two guys!

As an aside, I used to be a die hard Mets fan, and was always a fan of Mahomes Sr. I think I was always drawn to these middle relievers for some reason— loved guys like Turk Wendell, Dennis Cook, and Armando Benitez from those late 90s Mets teams too!
