Agreed with your counter-arguments. The hope would be to “play the odds” that multiple “critical” players wouldn’t get sick in such a way that the schedule goes into the toilet. but an alternative to my proposal would be to start this as the conference championship round, at least.

The NFL needs to consider changing their views on covid for the playoffs. Each team should be able to basically designate 2 critical players, such that if they get covid, it will require rescheduling the game to accommodate the quarantine period. No one wants to see any of these star players get covid. If any team loses its QB due to covid, their odds of winning go almost down to zero.

What to do with Dawson Knox

this is great analysis. -
They better be all in or all out. This sort of “play it by ear approach” seems like the worst way to to approach a game. To quote myself: “Daniel-san, must talk. Walk on road. Walk right side, safe. Walk left side, safe. Walk middle, sooner or later, [squish] get squish, just like grape. Here football, same thing. Either you football do, yes, or football do, no. You football do, guess so, [squish] just like grape.”

58%? That seems extremely bad. What’s a normal percentage for most TE’s in today’s NFL? -
its weird. I wonder if Beane has an inflated view of him since One of Nelson’s best games came against the panthers in 2016 (8 catches; 79 yards; 2 TD’s). the absence of pre-snap penalties is great. But the overall lack of penalties in that game isn’t too much to read into. The refs were awful— they weren’t calling anything, especially any offensive holds. Guys were getting mugged (both teams).

Aight....who's got tickets?

they better not be; we don’t need any visiting fans figuring out ways to get in when we only have 6700 seats. -
I remember at the time talking with a buddy who is best friends with one of our backup lineman back on those teams. Had nothing but negative things to say about Marrone— sounded like he has all the bad attributes of a Tom Coughlin-type, but with none of the positives I never understood what exactly Marrone brought to the table as either a head coach or even a position coach.

I don’t understand how people on here think the Fitz situation changes what we do. Fitz is the backup there— odds were slim he was going to play anyway (it would have to be a close game in which Tua was ineffective— similar to the Miami/raiders game). If we are up big or Tua is doing okay, we wouldn’t have seen Fitz anyway— and even then, I think he is being brought in as an absolute last resort. i think McD is either going to play his starters or not regardless of what anyone else is doing. Unlike with the Steelers, There’s been no indication from anyone on the Bills that the backups will be playing.

Get well, Fitz! Nothing but a class act. I do think this is a wake-up call for the Bills and other NFL teams re QB’s. I don’t like seeing Josh out there hugging opposing players after the game without a mask, etc. Really hope we up our own protocols, and the team considers doing a playoff bubble.

Could we see Jake Fromm play this Sunday?
