  1. I wonder if he can go to the PS? this place wouldn’t be the same without Duke around.
  2. I am starting to get worried. If we are IRing DiMarco and trading Foster, who is left on this team that can run Go routes for those deep bombs?
  3. Hard Pass. The dynamic of having rosen in the same QB room as Allen doesn’t seem like it would be good. these guys were drafted together and on the same trajectory— I can see a sort of cold relationship there.
  4. Doug Marrone. We would eat homemade fried bologna sandwiches and he’d probably say no more than two words (one of which would be “obviously”).
  5. this never gets old! I remember the first time I ever heard of F5– it was in the epic Mario Williams thread. That was a wild ride.
  6. agree. TT seems like a solid guy. He’s no superstar, but can be serviceable and I’ll be rooting for him too.
  7. RIP. Before my time. But I have fond memories of Seaver calling Mets games on WPIX in the 80s and 90s.
  8. agreed. Even when he played last year, he was mostly hobbled. I think he played most of the season with a torn MCL. Even then, his production was remarkable for a guy going at probably 50%.
  9. I actually think Kamara is about the same and possibly even better than CMC. CMC has better production, and so deserves to get paid more. But if Kamara got the same touches and targets as CMC, his stats and his impact would probably be the same, if not better. Michael Thomas obviously takes an insane number of touches from Kamara.
  10. football is 9 days away!!?? That is nuts!! i do think the buildup hasn’t been there due to no TC and preseason, and risk of covid hanging over the season. But hopefully the normal excitement returns once they kickoff.
  11. Thanks! This phone number is like gold. I called them; asked what they could do for me; they put me on hold for like 5 minutes (checking back in with me every 90 seconds); and then gave me Sunday Ticket Max for free. I am kind of dumbfounded. I usually negotiate it down to like 30%-50% off. Amazing!
  12. Tried my annual call today and the directv phones are down!!
  13. Been saying this for a while, but it may be time to consider amputation.
  14. We will see when the games start, but you may be right. but this also shows you what a crapshoot kicker is. It’s strange— you’d think it would translate perfectly from college to the NFL. But then you have guys like Aguayo, who was one of the most accurate kickers in college history, kicked on a big stage at FSU, and then couldn’t make one in the pros. Very odd.
  15. this is exactly where I am at. Seems like kicking in the NFL is like 99% mental. lot of risk with a rookie flaming out or just taking a while to figure it out. also, to those who think we can just get another guy if Bass stinks, that free agent vet kicking carousel is a scary place. Haush is more of a known commodity than seeing if 50-year old Nick Folk still has it. that said, I really Hope Bass works out!!
  16. looks like Brian Flores just announced this. Feel terrible for Fitzy.
  17. Weird timing. He must have really stunk. Otherwise you keep him through near final cuts just in case. I am not confident going into the season with a rookie K.
  18. i just remember that that offense just seemed to flow well with Orton back there. He was chucking 300 yard games and we were scoring points and winning. We beat New England and finished 9-7. He threw for like 3000 yards in 12 games. For all the crappy years we had, that was a pretty decent one.
  19. 2014 was solid, in part, because of Kyle Orton, and also, in part, because no more Toronto games!!!
  20. I feel like we are arguing over nothing here! ? in any event, maybe we just are defining “trouble” differently. The players that the Patriots in the past have gone for have red flags (that can be trouble with the law, bad character, locker rooms problems, or bad attitude). The players I mentioned above fit that bill. You can call these guys “risky” or “troubled” or “wayward.” But in the end, the Pats mostly were able to get these guys to fall in line. I think that has to do with winning and culture— I am also not saying that their culture is “good” necessarily. But they run a tight ship; and guys have to get in line or they are out.
