  1. I don’t think anyone is disappointed. But I think there is some concern that what the colts did can be replicated, and we want to know how the Bills will respond to a similar game plan.
  2. I was thinking of posting something similar yesterday. He had an absolutely dreadful game. Especially, in coverage— he was getting schooled by the TE’s on very basic routes.
  3. Notable tidbit from Indy Star— didn’t realize we did so poorly against TE’s: Buffalo’s defense gave up 993 yards to tight ends this season, the second-most in the NFL, and Indianapolis got back into Saturday’s game by exploiting the Bills’ weakness. Jack Doyle exploded for seven catches, 70 yards and a touchdown; Mo Alie-Cox made four grabs for 32 yards; and Trey Burton picked up 34 yards on three grabs, piling up a total of 14 catches for 136 yards.
  4. You are right. I am sure there was no offensive holding. When have you ever seen a game where there hasn’t been an offensive hold?
  5. I was re-watching some of the game and looking at The colts LT. He had hands to the defender’s face on numerous passings plays. Apparently, the refs aren’t calling that anymore either.
  6. this is spot on. Also, to your point, very weird how McDermott had one of his best coaching days today in terms of game tactics (going for it, challenges, timeouts, etc.), but the coordinators’ gameplans were wonky.
  7. We love you too, Harkins!!
  8. yeah, I think this is what’s going to happen. I think Gentry is the odd man out.
  9. That ankle must have been worse than than we thought.
  10. Re the defense more generally, they did a nice job on Taylor. Amazingly, it was Hines who gashed them late on those draws. Hines was an impressively slippery back— was really impressed by him.
  11. If the weather next week is rough, we are going to need a power back. Yeldon gets knocked over usually by a stiff breeze. i think suiting either guy up and giving them touches is going to be a risk. So, if we are rolling the dice either way, I would rather see those touches go to Williams. What I hope happens is both Williams and Yeldon get activated, and Taiwan Jones is inactive. May hurt our ST unit— but we can’t go into a bad weather game next week without some insurance behind Devin and a power runner. Yeldon gives us some insurance to fill in for Devin, and Williams can maybe get some hard runs if we need them.
  12. I am with you. McDermott won this game.
  13. This may sound like sour grapes— But not calling any holds really hurt our pass rush. They were getting mugged, including some pretty blatant holds when we blitzed. maybe our guys were holding too. But still. There wasn’t a single offensive hold called that entire game on either team. (Note: one hold on a kickoff— that’s it, as I recall).
  14. is this a typo? Jan 15th is a Friday? They must mean the 16th or 17th, right?
  15. well, obviously I am just Spit balling here. But I do think refs don’t like “deciding games late.”
  16. Agreed. But I don’t think that was the refs’ thinking. Boomer made a good comment after the game— it was a heads-up play by Poyer. He intentionally waited for Pascal to get up. So you penalized that good play. I feel like the refs saw it more like it would be a gift to the Bills to rule That a fumble— I think that subconsciously at least played a role.
  17. Moss is a rookie!
  18. i would like to know whether Josh checked to any of those runs or QB draws.
  19. you can defend every call that Reich made as spot on. But in the end, McD outcoached him. The defensive adjustment when he called a TO at the very end too was brilliant. It ended the game basically.
  20. Let’s call a spade, a spade. The officials didn’t want to be the ones to decide the game. That’s why they let them “play on.”
  21. i think that is why we reverted to JA runs so much. I think the LBs dropped back into a zone and just clogged the middle of the field. I believe the runs were meant to force the LBs up more.
  22. if Titans win the early one, I am rooting for the browns to win. I think we match up way better against Tennessee, and am worried we will see Big Ben come to life, like Rivers did today.
  23. the TD to Diggs looked like play action.
  24. its a joke. It’s why we can’t send blitzers.
  25. you wonder if they need to play man here. I think they are getting crushed by this cover 2.
