  1. haha— I will say that I am loving cobra Kai for the nostalgia. I have ingrained in my brain every aspect of the original karate kid movies. So all the references (some very subtle) to the original movies have brought be down memory lane. by the way, if you think season 1 is over the top, you should see season 2. The end of season 2 is nuclear.
  2. i have always thought Godfather II was better than Godfather I. Maybe the only time a sequel has actually bettered the original. by the way in terms of terrible sequels, as you all may have guessed I would say, “the next karate kid” starring Hillary Swank was terrible. I won’t even mention the Karate Kid re-boot starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, which I believe should be banned in the United States.
  3. Haha. sadly, I asked my wife whether it was Thursday two different times this week— both times on Monday. I saw someone on here posting about the game “tomorrow”— that was on Wednesday.
  4. A few articles on throwing the ball in high winds. Bottom line: 1) Can’t loft the ball— need to throw on a line. 2) need to focus on intermediate and short routes. 3) wind shouldn’t be a problem 0-15 MPH. Over 20 MPH is where you see QB’s stats start to drop off. https://www.sportsrec.com/throw-football-bad-weather-conditions-4546297.html https://towardsdatascience.com/football-weather-diving-into-the-effects-of-weather-on-nfl-qb-performance-f0edb420623d
  5. I am going with a shotgun snap about 5 feet over Lamar’s head, recovered by the Bills for a TD. I believe that is a pretty common first play.
  6. re Allen against the Blitz, I do hope the Bills come out with some better options against cover zero. I think they default to that WR screen— which has worked well a few times, but I feel like has failed the last few times and has been kind of sniffed out by defenses. I think Allen does the best against the heavier blitzes when we can figure out the protections and he can find the favorable 1 on 1 matchups.
  7. man, I really am praying for the wind to be pretty calm. It would royally backfire to have gotten home field advantage to only be done in by the Buffalo weather.
  8. I think what we will find will happen is that the weather will impact both teams the same. Both sides will be stacking the box, and trying to run and with some play action or short passing stuff. The team to hit on a few big plays will win. I still like our chances.
  9. This is great stuff! My theory on this is maybe too simplistic. Bills did a nice job stopping Taylor and the run game the entire day. When they got gouged was when the colts were down in the game and in obvious passing downs. The Bills were playing pass, and the colts kept running (mostly through shotgun draws). Those were when they gave up all of those long runs. That also supports my theory that the Bills can basically do one thing well on D. They can key into either the pass or run. I think that bodes well this week, where I think they are going to just look to stop the run and force Jackson to beat them throwing.
  10. Good move for him. Pretty low stress job given no talent and no fans and no meaningful expectation. So win or lose, hopefully he will be healthy and stress free.
  11. Mahomes and Watson. Both guys racked up some good yardage.
  12. I agree. My only thought with playing Taron Johnson a bit more is that he may give us more speed sideline to sideline on any outside read-option runs— and he is actually pretty good against the run for a DB.
  13. I have been up and down on Taron Johnson all year. But he is the one guy I watch pretty closely. He is remarkably good against the run for a CB. Gets right in there and fills the hole, and is a good tackler. His best play last week was stopping Taylor on that 3rd down and goal pitch. i was thinking we would see more Klein this week to beef up the interior defense, but maybe the staff likes what Johnson can bring and how he has been playing against the run.
  14. Dobbins is probably the best RB I have ever seen play at Ohio State. I would put him slightly ahead of even Eddie George, and definitely ahead of Zeke. I don’t follow the pre-draft stuff enough though to know why he was only a second round pick and Zeke was a top 5 pick.
  15. I agree. But if that job is gone, I still think Daboll would take any other HC opening available (assuming he wants to be a HC). The rest of the openings are not so glaringly bad that you would say “no” to them.
  16. agreed. I think we were all sweating bullets re Edmunds and Oliver mostly. Beasley is going to play through his injury.
  17. Same. People on here are suggesting he will stay as an OC here over going to the Jets-- that is not going to happen. If he wants to be a HC, he will take the Jets job. It is a good job.
  18. Because they are “buddies,” from what I have heard. Something tells me that whole coaching staff got really comfortable; which you can, when you have a HOF QB who masks all your problems probably. Cant rely solely on Big Ben’s arm and athleticism like they could in the past.
  19. Josh Allen victory in snow at Wyoming against Colorado State: https://www.si.com/college/wyoming/football/wyoming-cowboys-dramatic-16-13-border-war-victory-in-the-snow-in-laramie-in-2017-featured-on-cowboy-classics
  20. if Yeldon doesn’t play well, we are blaming you!! 😃
  21. i think you are probably right. But if the scheme is going to be a bit more run heavy, then I think we may see Taiwan being the odd man out. Maybe that is wishful thinking on my part though.
  22. About time. He was reason no. 1 why they were so awful. The offense looked a million times better when they go no huddle and Ben just calls his own plays. Fichtner always reminded me of a state department bureaucrat. He was the under-secretary to Guam, and slowly got promoted through the ranks and found himself to be Secretary of State through the sheer machinations of organizational restructuring and bureaucracy.
  23. Yeldon being brought up. No word on whether Williams too.
  24. Good point re grabby corners; the officiating crew we drew calls a boatload of penalties. Do you think you all will blitz as much as has been suggested? The reality is that the best way to play pass D against Josh Allen (and pretty much every good QB in the league) is to pressure with only 4 and drop a bunch of guys into zone coverage.
