  1. I always find the announcers that played sports to overall be more knowledgeable in calling the games. They have a better feel of knowing what the emphasize and what to prod the color commentator on. Just my two cents.
  2. yeah, I don’t get it. She is solid, and probably about 10x more knowledgeable than any other play by play announcer. She was a high school and college athlete. I always used to like when she called college hoops games.
  3. but what about OJ?!
  4. Isn’t that grounding? Extraordinarily Dumb move to go for it.
  5. Agreed. That was really textbook coverage. His back arm was touching the receiver’s back, but didn’t move the receiver. You have to reward that, not penalize it.
  6. Panthers through a bad 4th down call And some basic game mismanagement have let the Texans right back in this game— despite outplaying them the entire game.
  7. have you ever seen a panthers game that isn’t horrible? It’s like the ghost of Kerry Collins cursed this franchise to play 20 years of mostly boring football.
  8. Panthers need to understand who they are playing. Kick FG’s; get some points; no turnovers, etc. You can beat a team like this 20-3. They just let the Texans hang around.
  9. I seriously can’t believe Lovie Smith is still kicking around! And looks like Santa!
  10. Interesting. I hadn’t heard that about him. My theories on this guy too seem to change daily. At one point, I thought the parents might have mentioned the reserve to lead the authorities off of his actual trail.
  11. I actually think you want to kick a FG there. Being up 10 or 14 at this point has the same impact on the Texans.
  12. reminds me of the great Merton Hanks!!
  13. good call. I have my doubts though that he is alive at this point.
  14. Thanks for sharing this! I have little memory of this game beyond the leap. Watching the highlights, you can see the flashed from Josh Allen. I am mostly amazed at how “lean” we were at the skill positions. Chris Ivory, Rae Rae, Croom, Kelvin Benjamin, Andre Holmes. None of those guys were more than replacement level players.
  15. This is some serious sleuthing. Great find.
  16. I watched his highlights/ all passes of his first two games. In game 1, he had maybe 1 downfield attempt, and had 2 in week 2. By downfield, I mean about 20 yards. He seems to Do a nice job at throwing short screens, curls, and dump downs. I suspect the way you confuse him is to run a lot of zone and take away a lot of the underneath stuff, and mix in a lot of confusing pressure looks. re pressure, he beat the blitz pretty well against Miami, by basically throwing quick dump offs. When the jets blitzed, the pats ran a lot of screens. I don’t know how he will develop, but I suspect that like any young QB, you can really rattle Him and throw him off his game.
  17. True— that is the middle mediocre “meh” way. Floor is Trent Edwards though, for sure.
  18. it’s a smart way to develop Him. But from this, it can go either of two ways: 1) Future Tom Brady, or 2) Future Trent Edwards.
  19. This is pretty much the highest praise: “I’ve seen a renewed commitment to the process” -Sean McDermott on AJ Epenesa’s growth
  20. great point. It is strange how the police had been so hands off with him. Even with this search, they looked hard, but then they sort of called it off. Now they may be back to looking.
  21. Lot of sort of semi-amateur bloggers and podcast hosts are going to be losing money here if they don’t roll out the all-22….
  22. i think you are right. Just go out to get lost and die in gator infested swamps. Just a messed up situation all around.
  23. he has at least one other block that is not counted because the ball technically went like 1 yard pass the line of scrimmage
