  1. yeah, not everyone is the same. But you would be surprised at the stats on this. This is something I just pulled up, even though it’s four years old (I would guess the numbers are even higher now): “Millennials value parental leave more than earlier generations, so much so that 83 percent of American millennials said in Ernst & Young’s global generational survey of 9,700 people that they would be more likely to join a company offering such benefits. What’s more, 38 percent even said they would move from the United States to another country with better leave policies.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2017/11/28/well/family/millennials-see-paternity-leave-as-a-priority.amp.html
  2. yeah, to each his own. My point is only that there isn’t the stigma of paternity leave there was once, or at least the fear of retribution. Millennials and pretty much non-boomers are going to take leave if they want. Amongst millennials, surveys indicate that things like work-life balance and leave policies are more valued than salary.
  3. Lot of boomers in this thread!! 😃 Times have changed. If you are a millennial or younger, you take your full paternity leave proudly. At a prior workplace, we had people leave all the time mid-maternity and mid-paternity leave to go other places. It’s pretty common. You Might irritate a few people, but with some good Messaging, I doubt it is grounds to burn bridges.
  4. Went to my 10 and 20 so far. i found my reunions to be interesting in the sense that the kids I was friends with in like 6th grade, we seemed to pick back up to when we Were at that point of time— even if we didn’t hang out at all in high school.
  5. Better get used to this heat. They are playing week 2 in Miami.
  6. I have always said that the blocked kick TD was the most important play in Bills history. That was the watershed moment that catapulted the 90s teams.
  7. just had a debate with a friend a few days ago about which candy cigarettes were better. I only liked the gum ones, which I would puff. He swears by the candy/chalk ones. In fact, he said he still buys the chalk ones. I always thought those were meh.
  8. i had a buddy in college that raved constantly about this movie, and he made us all see it. It was so ridiculously bad, and we continue to ridicule him to this day almost 25 years later.
  9. I don’t think AW will get a real chance. coaches never seem to give undrafted RB’s a fair shake. It’s only after a spate of injuries that Some of these guys get a chance, and they then end up shining (Priest Holmes, Arian Foster, Willie Parker, Fred Jackson…).
  10. Agree completely. Roberts is a guy you always give a green light too on KO returns. And re McKenzie, the major concern is his ball security and judgment in the return game. He has made a lot of bad decisions and made a lot of mistakes in the past with the Broncos and Bills on pretty limited opportunities on punts and kicks. I don’t think you can teach the instincts you need there, so color Me very worried.
  11. Devo is a total class act. Wow.
  12. I have always only caught bits and pieces of TBT games. This was the first one I saw from beginning to end. It was just a blood bath. Guys just getting decked— no fouls. Lots of turnovers and just hacking going on. That said, it was fun to see some of those old guys back out there. Sounds like both Devo and Lydon are hanging it up for good. Nice to see them go out as champs.
  13. I guess congrats to Boeheim’s Army— but that was the ugliest basketball game I probably have ever seen. That should have played at LA Fitness.
  14. Just increasing the price now, Green Bay!!
  15. yeah, if he misses a lot more time. But don’t love the sound of a “back injury” for a TE that is already new to the team.
  16. i feel like Hollister is heading to be an injury settlement cut in camp.
  17. Who is this Reese?! I have no Memory of him at BC. Dude has Been balling out.
  18. It’s all high draft pick Bias. It has happened for years with RB’s (eg, priest Holmes, willie Parker, Fred Jackson). Mediocre high draft picks start over much better undrafted RB’s. I think it’s just risky for head coaches to give the ball to guys who are your underdog sleepers.
  19. No, thanks. The people in Austin are arrogant, and everything is just an event or party there. They’d be showing up to games just to have tailgate brunches, drinking mimosas and eating breakfast tacos, and not really caring whether the team wins or loses. they just got a MLS team, and they already think that makes them extra cooler as a city.
  20. did you used to watch those Warren Miller 80s ski movies? My Buddy and I would watch them on repeat.
  21. haha— this is a great one. I bought a disc man for my sweet 1988 Chevy Celebrity, which did not have a tape player/adapter. So I had to get this radio transmitter adapter to use with the disc man, where it would pick up on a super low FM channel. Between the disc man and the radio adapter, I could barely move in that car for fear of skipping or losing the signal.
  22. did someone say Ertz?
  23. Yeah, his athleticism probably helps a lot. But even the greatest athletes struggle with golf, given how counter intuitive and highly mechanical it is. I think Poyer probably has an elite “sports IQ” more than anything. I had the good fortune of playing golf with a lot of NFL Players at charity events over the years. I think the athleticism only gets you so far. Some of these guys play many times per week (the retired ones), and they are 20 handicappers, at best, and hitting your bad slices and worm burners, etc.
  24. 9.5 handicap after playing only for a year, and with no lessons? That’s seriously nuts.
