  1. Risky move by him— but I kind of agree. He is well positioned for a 1- or 2-year deal, and then could really cash in when the cap goes up.
  2. I don't think his injuries will play any role in his market. Maybe if he was coming off a torn achilles, or something devasating. But teams aren't going to discount him for getting banged up for a few games here and there every year. That has been the case for a lot of similar players like him. So, the question really is: regardless of health, what sort of contract is justified by his pure talent? I am not entirely sure, but the sportrac estimate of 3 years/$41M seems like a contract teams will be willing to offer him.
  3. I would go with more fulsome sideburns.
  4. Would you all Pay Milano 3 years/$40M? That seems reasonable And feasible, and what sportrac in the OP’s article Estimated in terms of his market value.
  5. I figured he would go out there and try to make the most of any MLB in the league, and take the best offer he could get. To me, that’s not an unreasonable approach.
  6. for real. This guy just smooshes people.
  7. Agree. I would be more worried if he said, “nah— looking for a mediocre deal in free agency.” isn’t the goal of free agency to maximize your contract?
  8. I absolutely love that line-up, and the substitutions you suggest. The strength, size, and length would actually allow us to field a competitively athletic team in the ACC. Better defenders; better on the glass; Griffin and Guerrier are good enough from the outside to keep defenses honest too. I also think that gives them the ability to see if Buddy or JG get hot, and then can feed the hot hand. I guess the main concern is how much Sidibe Will be able to play, and how rusty he is. edit: I also read JB may work Newton back in. Don’t understand how he hasn’t gotten more PT. He seems like he could really help.
  9. A few thoughts on the NC State game: 1) I will echo what you all have said re Kadary. The looks we get are so much better when you can get a guy that can drive and then score or kick. 2) Griffin is maddening. The guy can get hot and shoot, and then just has stretches when he is so ridiculously lazy. He seriously almost blew the game with just lazy dribbling. I feel like a lot of guys are at fault for the defensive woes— but he has been terrible at times on D Too. 3) I just don’t get why the interior D is so awful. Maybe with Sidibe back and Dolejaz can shift to the 4, it will get better. But I am Not holding my breath. Teams can get whatever they want inside.
  10. This story is getting better. He didn’t veto Certain teams, including New England. He said he would go to ANY team, except New England. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/01/31/report-matthew-stafford-was-willing-to-go-anywhere-but-new-england/
  11. i agree. But this article is pure trash. They are trying to spin it mostly about the weapons in New England, etc. The likely reality— he just experienced several years of the insufferable Bellichick Jr. He isn’t going to New England for the real thing.
  12. pretty fascinating thread. Had No idea about Beane’s Comments re Barkley’s wife. there were probably multiple reasons why the Bills did so well with covid this year, and I am sure family buy-in was one of them. Can’t underestimate the influence of building and extending the team culture to players’ family members.
  13. They have already mortgaged their future with all those contracts and trades. Very strange. I feel like they have a 2-year window.
  14. What you say makes sense. I actually didn’t realize he liked Knox so much. I mentioned Knox as a trade asset only because I think a lot of teams probably love his ceiling.
  15. I like it! You could make it half as long, and tweak the rules to minimize injuries (no kickoff returns; no punting). The winner of the third place game gets the higher/better draft slot in next year’s draft.
  16. I think he said something similar last year. He will Be actively pursuing some guys, if I had to guess. Something to bolster the front 7 on defense. in terms of draft-day type moves, I could see them trading Dawson Knox for like a 4th round pick.
  17. I am willing to bet that they keep but possibly restructure every single guy on there, Except possibly Morse. And the only reason I am unsure about Morse is because they were weird about him during the season.
  18. Not a great post-season for him. But I also have to say that the Bills didn’t help him out either. They barely give him any touches and when they did, the missed blocks doomed the running plays. And if they had him running more off of read options, he probably looks way more effective. He needs to play better. The team though needs to play better around him. The knee-jerk reactions based solely on the last two games are really amazing.
  19. Too expensive. My gut too is that the Chargers will re-sign him before he hits the market— I think he is too valuable to what they do.
  20. it was seriously so obvious. People like to rip on Singletary. Maybe give the guy more than 5 carries before we see what he can do. Against that defense, if he committed to the run, we would have had success.
  21. You may be right. But Knox only has been in the NFL for 2 years, and, as I recall, was a bit more of a raw prospect coming out of college. Do you give up on him, or give him another 1-2 years to see what his ceiling is? In terms of his size, speed, and athleticism, there is no question that he is elite. Can we significantly improve his hands, route running, blocking, and feel?
  22. in hindsight, maybe you activate Kroft, and have more Lee smith and Kroft sets out there, and just force those guys out of their dime packages. I know the tradition run game wasn’t great, but the read options running was absolutely there. The very few times we tried it, it was successful. I suspect the Daboll and company would re-do their entire gameplan if given another chance. For a OC who prides himself on tailoring the gameplan and being unpredictable, our game plan was very predictable— and it allowed the chiefs D to dictate the game.
  23. I haven’t studied all of these guys’ route running. But it seems to me from watching game highlights of Ertz and Kelce, their bread and butter is to go straight out about 7 yards and just sit down in the zone. That seems easy enough for Knox to do, and I have seen him do it. Maybe running deeper routes or getting behind the LB’s— yeah, ertz and Kelce may be far superior. But I have this sneaking suspicion that Knox can do that too. He has the size, speed, athleticism of ertz and Kelce. I just wonder if they made him more of a focal point, he would be more of a threat and produce a lot more.
