    They are going to trade Kumerow to GB. I don’t think he is that good and the overhype is probably meant to generate a little leverage.

    it’s the new college basketball! The teams that can recruit these guys with a solid “marketing” plan are going to land the best players. It’s going to take a whole different type of recruiting strategy.

    Finally was able to watch the Bears game. Haack had sort of an odd punting style— real forced and punchy. Almost like someone taking a 3/4 swing with a golf iron. I am not sure that is intentional or not.

    Honestly, not a bad move by Lands. I don’t think he even visited Syracuse. I’d rather him made a fully informed decision and have no regrets, as opposed to pulling a last-second Bazley type move.

    Agreed. He has poor instincts on the catch. Even some of his best returns have been near bobbles. Sort of weird, because he otherwise has good hands as a receiver. I’d rather McKenzie be a WR and a backup returner to use in a jam. That said, I’m not super excited about a rookie like Stevenson being the main guy either.

    That’s what I am thinking too. Norman will be re-signed if they have space, or are in a jam during the season. As I recall, you can sign people after week 1 and then their salaries don’t become guaranteed. So maybe they sign him then?

    16 years. But I got it free last season and so figured there was no chance I would get it two years in a row. Never had it free before last year— but usually got it at least 50% off.

    I was getting ready for the dance, and all the usual back and forth. She just shocked me into total silence. In fact, when I started the call, I did my usual slow wind-up about high fees and my wife being mad, and she was like, “I’m sorry but I am confused. What do you want?” I was like, “I want to pay less for Sunday ticket.” And 10 seconds later—done.

    In what can only be described as a festivus miracle, I called directv, asking what they can do for me. They pulled my account and said, “looks like it is already free. Oh, and it’s max this year.” What in the?!
