  1. YUM!! by the way, my mother makes the best stuffed mushrooms, which she stuffs with clams. It’s basically a clam casino in a mushroom— Best of both worlds.
  2. I have always had a negative reaction toward the red uniforms, until the steelers game. I believe we exorcised all negative juju from the red unis during that game.
  3. We have a different controversy-- a RB controversy. Moss/Singletary or Antonio W. Harkens? Hope it doesn't fracture the team.
  4. New year’s resolution vegan diet still in effect for 3 more weeks. But I will have no appetite anyway.
  5. As I recall, Rivers had like a 90% completion rate. That’s where my Rivers fear comes from.
  6. I think it was smart letting them walk at what they were asking. But both guys are solid in their roles and it would have been great had they stayed at a lower price point. Shaq is basically a guy that sets the edge and will get you a handful of pressures and 3-4 sacks per year. He is good in that limited role— but not worth paying $30M or whatever the dolphins paid him. As others have said, Phillips has been banged up, so hard to judge his play. As between Shaq and Phillips, I really wanted to keep Phillips. But the D line has done pretty well without him as the year as progressed.
  7. I think it is actually “hearkens back”— like you need the “back” In there. also, I think the mass confusion has been caused by the combination of an antiquated word like “hearkens” (misspelled), right next to colloquial abbreviations, like “W.” and “fredEX.” But other than that, I love A Dubs. Reminds Me of the young preseason star, Lionel Gates.
  8. i thought this thread was about some guy named Antonio Harkens.
  9. How do you figure? They have played the titans (twice), bears, Steelers, browns, and ravens.
  10. Yeah, I agree that the Chargers are a better spot now given what they have on that roster. But in this thread, people think Daboll would be “brain dead” for taking the Jets job. It’s not that bad of a job. Probably better than Jax, which is a totally dead-end football and media market.
  11. I don’t get the “jets is a bad job” argument. They have on their roster a potential franchise QB and the #2 pick in the draft. Their D will be better next year with Mosley and others coming back. Plus, NY is obviously a huge media market. I suspect Dabs is competitive too, and would like going against his former teams and colleagues twice per year (Patriots, Bills, Flores in Miami).
  12. if this is true, this is a problem. He had 5 negative tests after the arguably false positive test. Imagine if this had been a key player in a playoff game. I would be interested to hear the NFL’s side of the story.
  13. i was watching some of the Colts/Steelers highlights today, and Rivers still has a nice deep ball. They have some speed at receiver too in TY and Pascal. You wonder if the play calling is overall more conservative— run, play action, short passes, etc— as opposed to Rivers being too old.
  14. The thought crossed my mind that they stashed him on the PS to bring up now; but I think it’s too risky to give him any PT in the playoffs. But I agree— great depth and maybe we will See him make the roster next year.
  15. i felt the same way, probably for the same reasons you do. Throwing a bomb up 4 TD’s isn’t a great look. BTW, re Bojo— That may have been the best punt I have ever seen from any Bills’ punter. 54 yards AND out at the 1/2 yard line?! His prior punt was a touchback, but also Hit right on the 1-yard line. He is dialed in!
  16. This is a good read from October on the Colts defensive scheme. Sounds like a lot of cover 3, similar to what we saw from the Seahawks. from what I recall (and what We did against Seattle), against this defense, the outside zones near the sidelines tend to get open. https://www.stampedeblue.com/2020/10/2/21497914/colts-scouting-journal-time-to-stop-calling-the-colts-a-cover-2-defense edit: this article is from November. More of the same. Colts defense seems to get a lot of pressure just rushing four guys. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-indianapolis-colts-finally-built-a-defensive-monster/
  17. Sort of nuts that the Sunday night game is Pittsburgh/Cleveland. Seems like that could be a boring game.
  18. Good news: this game is on my birthday! Bad news: horrific playoff memory of my 11th year birthday party being ruined by Ronnie harmon’s drop in the 1989 browns’ playoff loss.
  19. Agreed. Let’s hope that last year’s loss is a learning experience and we won’t see a jittery Bills’ team. I think it will help being at home with relatively few fans.
  20. I am nervous about rivers. He always seems to complete like 90% of his passes against the Bills. Quick release—smart with the ball. They seem to run the bell very well too. I liked this matchup over others, but I don’t think this will be a blowout.
  21. can you imagine ending your season with a loss like today’s? Talk about a bad taste in your mouth.
  22. I was going to post this in the GDT— it may have been his best play of the game, in a game where he had a ton of great plays.
  23. Just tuned into the scores— I can’t believe these games are close. Jax is playing with replacement-level players.
