  1. That is fair. I was never high on Fields, but I agree it’s a bit unfair to assess him now. He definitely is much more raw than a lot of recent top 10 picks. it will be interesting to see where the openings are this off-season. I think definitely in Chicago. Vic Fagio in Denver may be safe the way he has that team Playing. Maybe Minnesota will fire Zimmer. And Texans could can Culley after a year. Other than that, I don’t think there will be any other openings.
  2. yeah, I wouldn’t be jumping at that bears job with Fields as the QB.
  3. I think this proves my point a little. he wanted to go back to Pittsburgh but couldn’t because he publicly insulted the QB. No matter how you spin it, that comment was a dumb and gratuitous move. I suspect he regrets it in hindsight. But I guess we can agree to disagree.
  4. there is no reason to go to a new team and publicly bad mouth your prior QB, no matter how bad he is. I think E Sanders had since expressed remorse for making those public statements, and he is obviously an older and more mature player at this point.
  5. I was dead wrong about Sanders. I pinned him as a diva and sort of an anti-process guy. That view stemmed from him bad mouthing Ben R for no reason when he left Pittsburgh.
  6. I heard he has been really banged up. Knee drained; didn’t play at all in the preseason. The way our ST likes to give up big plays, I can see Roberts having some success this Sunday.
  7. I didn’t realize Philly had two 1st rounders. But I get the sense that they love Jalen Hurts there. I haven’t seen him Play very much to get a beat on him.
  8. i just re-watched it just now again in case I was wrong. He didn’t touch him. It looked like Spain tried to grab his arm, but totally whiffed and the defender came in at a weird angle. There was almost no contact between them at all. that was sort of emblematic of a lot of ticky tack offensive and defensive holds and illegal Contact penalties they called all night. Some were legit, but most were way too ticky tack, IMO.
  9. but how about that offensive holding call on Spain? He literally didn’t touch the defender. That could have cost the Bengals the game.
  10. I am Not sure it would have made a difference, But Urban Meyer did not coach a tactically sound game— two key misses to me: 1) As I said up thread, you kick that FG in the second quarter to build that 3-score cushion. Instead, they didn’t get it and he let the Bengals back in it. 2) 4th and 4 on the last jags offensive possession— 5 minutes left and ball at midfield and the offense was looking good, and defense is looking terrible. You have to go for it. Go and win the game at that point!
  11. what a poorly Officiated game. Lots of big phantom penalties on both teams.
  12. i don’t know. You can go up by 3 scores going into the half. Bengals get the ball first in the second half too. What you have done now by not scoring the 3 is you can let the Bengals back in the game with a TD out of the half and it is suddenly 1-score game. There are sort of diminishing marginal returns the more you can go up on a team and the earlier you can do it, IMO.
  13. Hate going for 4th down there. Being up 17-0 Has the same impact at this stage as being up 21-0. Three scores, and really burying the Bengals in a hole.
  14. i guess I am still salivating over Josh’s two epic games last year in Arizona. Perfect weather conditions and I have never seen him look so good. In any event, I will stop beating the dead horse of a dome because we all know it isn’t going to happen anyway— but how about a stadium with a little more protection from the wind? Can they at least give me that?! 😁
  15. I am Surprised the NFL isn’t just canceling this game— what a dud!
  16. I was about 11 years old and remember that so vividly. Watched it on TV. That block was so improbable.
  17. This was great. But does anymore remember those old Langston Walker shows on bb.com? He was terrific!
  18. its just that our strength now is this high octane precision passing offense. Unlike the K gun days, we really don’t have a strong running game to lean on when needed. I’d rather have the option with the new stadium to at least minimize the weather, if we want to.
  19. Rain on Sunday— ugh. Build a dome, I beg you!!!
  20. The only team that can trade for Watson is the Dolphins. They are the only team with the draft capital and also the QB need. They have like 13 picks over the next two years, including two 1st rounders in 2023. But if you are Dolphins, how do you structure a deal to hedge the legal risks of Watson? I don’t think you can.
  21. Wow. Is this normal? In this article, they mention yet another missing guy around this time. So, that is 3 women and 2 men all Dead in the same area around the same time? I can’t believe they are all unconnected.
  22. Irv is pulling a classic reverse jinx. It’s a brilliant move.
