  1. I have been up and down on Taron Johnson all year. But he is the one guy I watch pretty closely. He is remarkably good against the run for a CB. Gets right in there and fills the hole, and is a good tackler. His best play last week was stopping Taylor on that 3rd down and goal pitch. i was thinking we would see more Klein this week to beef up the interior defense, but maybe the staff likes what Johnson can bring and how he has been playing against the run.
  2. Dobbins is probably the best RB I have ever seen play at Ohio State. I would put him slightly ahead of even Eddie George, and definitely ahead of Zeke. I don’t follow the pre-draft stuff enough though to know why he was only a second round pick and Zeke was a top 5 pick.
  3. I agree. But if that job is gone, I still think Daboll would take any other HC opening available (assuming he wants to be a HC). The rest of the openings are not so glaringly bad that you would say “no” to them.
  4. agreed. I think we were all sweating bullets re Edmunds and Oliver mostly. Beasley is going to play through his injury.
  5. Same. People on here are suggesting he will stay as an OC here over going to the Jets-- that is not going to happen. If he wants to be a HC, he will take the Jets job. It is a good job.
  6. Because they are “buddies,” from what I have heard. Something tells me that whole coaching staff got really comfortable; which you can, when you have a HOF QB who masks all your problems probably. Cant rely solely on Big Ben’s arm and athleticism like they could in the past.
  7. Josh Allen victory in snow at Wyoming against Colorado State: https://www.si.com/college/wyoming/football/wyoming-cowboys-dramatic-16-13-border-war-victory-in-the-snow-in-laramie-in-2017-featured-on-cowboy-classics
  8. if Yeldon doesn’t play well, we are blaming you!! 😃
  9. i think you are probably right. But if the scheme is going to be a bit more run heavy, then I think we may see Taiwan being the odd man out. Maybe that is wishful thinking on my part though.
  10. About time. He was reason no. 1 why they were so awful. The offense looked a million times better when they go no huddle and Ben just calls his own plays. Fichtner always reminded me of a state department bureaucrat. He was the under-secretary to Guam, and slowly got promoted through the ranks and found himself to be Secretary of State through the sheer machinations of organizational restructuring and bureaucracy.
  11. Yeldon being brought up. No word on whether Williams too.
  12. Good point re grabby corners; the officiating crew we drew calls a boatload of penalties. Do you think you all will blitz as much as has been suggested? The reality is that the best way to play pass D against Josh Allen (and pretty much every good QB in the league) is to pressure with only 4 and drop a bunch of guys into zone coverage.
  13. Good article here. This beat writer thinks the Ravens are not going to blitz much— just rush 4 and simulate some pressure. https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-film-study-bills-20210112-vztpyvxxrfay7jjjbldlfyerdu-story.html
  14. I agree. Football analysis is all recency bias. Less than a week ago, all we heard was how the Bills were going to easily beat the Colts based on how they smoked the Dolphins. It was a tight game instead and the Bills D didn’t look as good as it has recently. Now the narrative is the Bills are going to lose and their defense is terrible. After one game!
  15. agree completely. It was so dumb. They were “trying to get Henry going” with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I was shocked they just didn’t go shotgun and start throwing earlier. They have that really good 3rd down back too, who they could run draws with.
  16. If you guys are talking about the 4th and 1 at the end of the game, you’re too hard on the Bills. Taylor is a beast. You’re not stopping him on 4th and 1. The guy breaks tackles for a living.
  17. I think the critical guys this game will be Davis or Brown or McKenzie. Ravens have 3 solid corners— but I think the 4 and 5 receivers will get some opportunities.
  18. wow. very interesting. Williams actually looked bigger to me than Lynch.
  19. I agree. The sample size isn’t enough. For everyone— “pro” or “anti” Yeldon— no one knows for sure what he can bring to the table if given extended playing time.
  20. Not sure you all have seen today’s Christian Wade interview of Tre. To me, the craziest thing about the interview was the clip of Josh Norman literally jumping over a bull. It’s nuts; about 1:20 in: https://www.buffalobills.com/video/coffee-with-the-bills-christian-wade-and-tre-davious-white
  21. what’s that saying? “There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.” Yeldon seems pretty good at running through big holes or running in space. He seems to be really bad at running through contact, and it seems like a stiff breeze will knock him down. I would be curious to see his “yards after contact” stats, but not sure he has had enough carries for anyone to keep those.
  22. That goes for our guys too though. Has Josh ever even played in a snow game in Buffalo before?
  23. i hear you, but Hindsight is 20/20. we have also all seen him bust off 40-yard kick returns in situations like that. Can’t play or coach scared with a weapon like Roberts.
  24. did they get him an Antoine Winfield youth-sized jersey? Edit: whoops, that’s Singletary!! 😀
