Pretty good summation from Cover1
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
In terms of offensive line coaching, I have to think the miscommunications and mistakes on assignments have to be on coaching. I have never seen so many mental errors by our line in a single game. They get confused by stunts. They get confused by disguised pressure. I still have no idea what Darryl Williams was doing out there today on a number of plays where he blocked no one. -
Injuries Show how Little Depth Bills Have
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
it’s not so much depth, in a weird way. It’s the talent evaluation wasn’t quite right. I don’t know what the Bills look for at guard, but whatever it is, it has them valuing Cody Ford and JF more than Spain and Teller. -

NFL Officiating is an abomination for a 18B product
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Early in the game Dawkins got called for a unsportsmanlike, which killed a drive (the refs erroneously called it on Williams). i just re-watched it. The defender spun and jumped up, and right when he jumped, Dawkins pushed him in the chest and pancaked him. It was a great and clean block, and was largely caused by this guy jumping up. Dawkins then fell forward. Dawkins literally did nothing wrong. -
I was re-watching some more of this abomination. on the first drive, we had 3rd and 10, and josh scrambled for a first down. On the play, you had 3 olinemen blocking one guy, and then 2 defensive players just having a free reign to Josh. He eluded both. What I think I saw on the play is the Jags bringing a bunch of people to the line and then pulling them out. For whatever reason, this confused Williams as to who he was supposed to block. So he ended up blocking nobody, including the guy standing Right in front of him. then, on the first and goal play, we ran a nice sweep with Moss. It would have worked had Ike not been blown up and pushed 3 yards backward.

That was a real critical one. Wiped out a huge return. Absolutely bizarre. -
So I just re-watched this play: 1) it was not a designed RPO-type play. Morse got blown up and it was a jail Break, which caused Josh to run forward. 2) Gabe should have caught it, but it was slightly behind him at a weird angle, and so I can see why he dropped it. 3) josh was getting tackled from behind if he didn’t throw.

How about the “taunting” Call on Levi on a successful QB sneak where he Was 30 yards away from the play? That doesn’t even make sense. -

I had a feeling it might be a long day when Trubisky was called for unsportsmanlike conduct on the first play of the game.- 94 replies

11/7/21 Bills @ Jaguars Postgame Thread
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. if he does that, then we kick a game-tying FG. A sack drove us out of FG range. It was the play of the game, IMO. -
That was my take too— like 60% mental errors by the line today. The three interior linemen could not handle a stunt today to save their lives.
-
Devin had the first down there too. Josh doesn’t trust those RB’s.
-
re Williams, did you see the last 3rd down where Williams allowed the sack? Someone posted the video in another thread here. He stood there for like 2 seconds while his man went by him. And that was the game!! It knocked us out of FG range.

Man, listening to Josh in his post-game presser, he has no voice and doesn’t look well to me. Really hope he doesn’t have COVID or something. -
i actually think the biggest problem is Williams at RT. It’s like he moved inside for a bit and forgot how to play tackle. He looked far worse to me than Ford did at guard today. edit: and Ike was atrocious today.

Running game...why do we never run outside
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
been waiting for those all year. He was the only guy too today that seemed to show up. -
was wondering if that was a designed play or a Josh Allen improv. It looked like a really neat play.

you can see it better on TV or a less grainy screen. I was sure it was on the jags, but when I rewound it, it was clearly on Ike. the jags line seemed to move early all game. It was really odd. -

that was the play of the game too. Even if it is an incomplete pass, we kick a game tying FG there. What was DE doing? also, note how bad they got beat on the stunt on the other side. -

i re-watched it after it happened and I just watched it there. Ike flinched a little first— very slight. -
I am going to go back and watch a little, but I suspect that a lot (most?) of the problem with the line is mental. Seemed like a lot of blown assignments. Yeah, there were some plays where they were cleanly beat. But if we can fix up the mental errors, maybe there is hope.

Looks Like the Rest of the NFL Have our Number !!
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
the defense can all drop back to cover and we can’t run to keep anyone honest. We can actually survive that, except if the D can pressure us with 3 or 4 guys. Then it’s like 8 against 4. -

I said this past week that we need to be careful what we wish for and Feliciano’s replacement could be even worse. And I got lots of eye rolls on that. -

I am amazed at the refs today. They were so bad that it screwed both teams consistently all day -

I find it weird that we didn’t even try to take a deep shot. Not one.
