  1. i suspect the delay is due to covid. Many crime labs are backed up around the country and these tests are probably just waiting in a long line to process.
  2. I didn’t really appreciate JB’s snarky comment too to the one SU student writer who asked him about pulling Edwards. The kid was the only one with the guts to ask the question, and JB was a total jerk to him. The professional PS reporters just sit idly by, never asking a tough question. This kid asks a tough question that every person in America who watched that game wanted to know— why did they pull Edwards out in the first half?— and he is ridiculed by the head coach. So unprofessional by JB.
  3. if that’s the case, Maybe Jimmy is like the 8th guy off the bench and is cool to just be along for the ride with his dad and brother. JG seems like he will be a better version of Trevor Cooney when all is said and done. I think that is mostly a compliment.
  4. I will say the positive here is that there will be a lot of guys looking to transfer, and I think we can get a definite short-term upgrade in terms of losing one of the underclassmen transfers for a grad transfer with a lot of experience. I would love to get a kid like the UNC power forward (Manley)— 6’11”, 255 pounds.
  5. Every time I see Ryan Leaf, I am reminded of my 100% bet the farm prediction that I made to anyone who would listen in 1998— that Leaf would be, by far, the much better NFL QB over Peyton Manning.
  6. Ugh. I really had high hopes for Newton. I don’t quite get why he was pulled out of the rotation as the season went on. In early action, he looked great. Do you think there’s any risk of Richmond transferring? That would be absolutely devastating.
  7. I was surprised with JB’s presser answer re Edwards being “tired.” I think he could have given him a quick breather and used his own TO’s and the TV TO’s, and Edwards may have only needed to go out for like 3-4 total game minutes. Edwards was a game changer on defense. Probably his best game. That said, our O was stymied all night anyway. We made 13 shots! We needed someone to hit some outside shots— JG started to at the end, but it was too late.
  8. I’d rather see Newton get minutes than Griffin. I think Griffin is gone.
  9. what’s neat about Edwards is he has some of the finesse parts of his game. I know JB almost died when he took that little transition pull-up today, but he can make that. I’d love to see him put on weight and get more PT. I think he could be a very well-rounder center. Make some 10-footers; some baby hooks; develop a little post-up game. You can tell the raw talent is there.
  10. i would be curious to hear what he says in his presser about it, though the beat reporters don’t usually push him much. As best as I can tell, it was either he was worried about Edwards’ conditioning or worried about Edwards picking up fouls, and so felt he had to pace and protect him. I suspect it was more of the latter, as Edwards does have the tendency to pick up fouls in spades. I do think that really was the game. I also think that Our offense was just poor. It was a blood bath out there, and so everything was contested or fouled. lot to be excited about for next year about Edwards, and Braswell. Is Sidibe coming back too? The zone will be a lot more effective with those three guys in the rotation.
  11. Houston defenders foul every time on every play. They hand check and body check and play ultra aggressively and out of control on the glass. That’s why they are so good. But that’s also why at the end of their games, every guy on their team has like 4 fouls.
  12. The “Up” montage is probably the greatest movie montage of all time. So perfectly done.
  13. Stevie Thompson is an assistant on Oregon state and his son, Ethan, is their leading scorer? How did I not know they? Stevie is in my top-5 favorite Syracuse bball Players of all time!
  14. There are some “dust in my eye” moments every time I watch Castaway (which is a movie I will stop and watch any time I see it in TV).
  15. my girl is a tear jerker— both the movie and the book.
  16. I remember Rian Lindell saying this about kickers and the same holds true about punters. There are only 32 spots in the league. So most guys aren’t rolling the dice and bouncing from team to team if they don’t have to. There’s a lot more risk in testing the market, and Bojo is probably finding this out the hard way.
  17. one thing KC and Buffalo fans can mostly agree on is what a waste of Watkins was. That the chiefs didn’t even seem to offer him the same pretty measly deal that Baltimore gave him shows Me too it wasn’t really about money. To your point, a rookie or bargain vet at the WR 2 spot is perfect. You already have Kelce and Hill as basically your 1/2, Hardiman for a few other targets, and can you use your backs well in the passing game. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to invest more money in your O skill players.
  18. Agreed re Quincy. All I am reading is how Houston’s “best offense is a missed shot.” Quincy is going to have to kill it down low for us to win this game. Everyone really needs to crash the boards. I am really hoping Griffin has a breakout performance. He’s due.
  19. same here— had no idea she was still alive. Lots of classic books. I distinctly remember “Dear Mr. Henshaw” as a kid— that book stuck with me for years. Been cool reading her Ramona books now with my 9-year old.
  20. I said this earlier, but a pretty huge fall from grace. This contract value basically means that the chiefs would rather have anyone else as their WR3 than Watkins. It’s not even the money. He eats up a roster space and often an active game day spot, as when he does play, he is often hobbled/less than 100%.
  21. it’s worse than that. He didn’t even make it that far. Slipped on his way to sign the contract and out (week to week).
