  1. Thanks— this seems like critically helpful advice.
  2. Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I ended up going with the Kamado Joe Jr. Not a huge cooking surface, but quality, price and portability were really good. And I saw enough videos of people being able to grill and smoke a lot of big meat on that grill to get comfortable with the idea of the smaller grill. I will let you all know how it goes when it gets here!
  3. re the Bike tour, my wife and I did that there, and it was ridiculously dangerous. We were all riding in a long line, weaving in and out following our guard through all sorts of traffic. At least when we were around the French quarter it wasn’t a great experience. Not ideal spot to ride. When we got out to the river and to other neighborhoods, it got a little better.
  4. agreed. I thought we had like a 15+ year track record of the team having a very positive relationship with Rosenhaus. Bills FO have never had issues dealing with him.
  5. i will have to check out this book. not to get political, but I believe in-person sporting events is one of the great unifying things, and without it this past year, it hasn’t helped with all the divisions in society. It’s only at a bills game where you have people from all races, classes, jobs, socio economic classes wearing the same jerseys, sharing the same ups and downs, and high fiving and hugging each other.
  6. Nice! Thanks for the update. Definitely a cool place; but totally agree with you re being an early bird town.
  7. Check out the famous Houston athletes slide— pictures of Deandre Hopkins, JJ Watt, and James Harden. 🤣
  8. it’s funny you say that— when I think of New Orleans, all I can think of is the smell of urine, vomit, and marijuana mixed together.
  9. you have to see this multiple times. There are so many priceless tids bits in this. The Kermit puppet for the chiefs— haha! edit: the trip advisor ratings on some of these pages are so priceless.
  10. These ticket prices to the opener are ridiculous. And I think they are only going to go up given all the Steelers’ fans too that will easily travel.
  11. football is meant to be played at 1 PM on Sunday’s. It ruins my rhythm to have it played any other time. (4:25 starts are the absolute worst).
  12. I actually don’t think Eddie Vanderhoes is a real person. sounds very similar to Dr. Van Nostrand.
  13. they really need to get rid of that Scott van pelt. That guy was on the C team on ESPN news and has launched himself to some ESPN anchor superstar. He comes across pretty arrogant; just annoys me.
  14. back in the day, I worked at Wendy’s. Those were the glory years. Biggie Fries, Biggie drinks, JBC’s, medium frosties— all on their glorious $.99 menu. now you go there, and all that stuff costs like $3 a pop.
  15. They got this Tevi in the off-season, who started for the Chargers and who they think can start for them, especially if Fisher takes a while to get back.
  16. From what I had read of the Colts situation, they have Fisher slated to start. But they have some backups they are really high on who can slide into the starter role if Fisher can’t recover in time. So, I agree they are paying Fisher to be the starter, but I don’t think they are putting all their eggs in that basket too. I have my doubts about him though. I can’t think of a worse injury for an o-lineman— you are on your toes and exerting quite the strain on your Achilles and calf.
  17. 8-year vet; played 8 games in 2019 season; tore his achilles in 2020 season. I have my doubts. That said, I think the Colts are stacked on the line, and could slide Fisher into a back-up role.
  18. The other thing I am looking at is the Kamado Joe “Junior.” it is a more portable version— weighs “only” 60 pounds and is 13 inches of grill Space (versus the normal 18 inches) and from what I can tell is a big enough size to cook for like 5-7 people and still smoke a fair amount of things. It’s $350– so significantly cheaper than the full-size ones, which run over $800.
  19. In my view, we dodged a bullet when Bojo was unreasonable on money. As we all know, he started off here really poorly-- with mistakes that went well beyond punting (bad holds, dropping snaps, kicks blocked). I think he seemed to turn it around a little last year-- but I am not sure anyone was super confident with him on the field. He has a big leg, but would outkick coverage; he was still prone to shank; and other than one absolutely gorgeous coffin corner kick, he wasn't great at pinning teams inside the 10. I also think his success last year was skewed a little given his sample size also shrunk. In the end, I think he was an okay option-- but I am much more excited about the new guy, who seems like a guy with much more skill and finesse in pinning teams deep (which, in my view, is more valuable that booming your occasional 65-yard punts).
  20. I really like my Weber gas grill. But we have a small cottage and I am thinking of mixing things up and getting a Kamado grill for that place. I am curious if anyone has thoughts on these grills. I was reading consumer reports, and they rank the Vision Kamado s-series as their favorite. That seems like a good value too— not in the price range of a green egg or Kamado Joe. I also saw that you can buy cheaper non-ceramic ones, but not sure what the deal is with those. any thoughts would be appreciated!
  21. thats a great idea. My kids go nuts When they file coins on the ground.
