Week 16: Bills at Pats - DISCUSSION
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really am wondering what the bills do with the oline. I know it is not popular, but the idea of just having Doyle or Bates at LT makes more sense than shifting 3 guys to weaken 3 positions on the line. -

that is a good point— it just feels much worse. -

Other than half the team, we are fully healthy. -
barely. The dude with all the vowels in his last name may even be called up to play!!
-
yeah, but I guess my point is that I haven’t seen anyone return much faster. Dawkins and Feliciano are both vaccinated and will miss two games at least. That said, I get your main point— we were always at a competitive disadvantage without 100% vax rate.
-
Don’t want to get into a vaccination debate, but omicron is claiming both vaccinated and unvaccinated equally. And based even on the NFL protocols, no one is coming back early.

Bourne is their only receiver worth worrying about. The Bills need to just now be able to cover Henry, and there’s otherwise not much to their offensive passing weapons. -

the season rides in Bobby Hart’s shoulders. Oh the irony! -
Ugh. And cody ford too?! He has actually been playing pretty well recently.

Joe Burrow…”Nothing to do in Cincinnati”

I think every city is “more boring” now due to COVID. So many of the best places have gone under in cities across the country. -
Agreed. Titans are one of those teams that you just need to out-execute them. They will always be in every game. We almost did that this year, but we didn’t. Comes down to a slip on a sneak and letting one big run. That’s the difference.
-
i agree. But what is good about him is he knows who he is. Same with all the titans. They just play fundamentally sound and play within themselves. Even on that Jimmy G pick, it was nothing special. Just good zone coverage; bad throw; safety catches the ball.
-
Lack of energy is a good way to put it. I don’t quite get it. I think it could be also due to a lack of an identity. When you have an identity, you can lean into it. The Bills are still trying to figure out who they are.
-
see what I mean? Going to be a tied game And the titans really haven’t done anything.
-
The one thing I will say about the titans is that they are just plain gritty. I really have no idea how they win any football games, even when Henry was there. Just sort of collecting 4-yard runs, and a few playaction chunk plays, here and there. Nothing flashy on offense or defense, but seem to get it done every week. they always figure out a way to hang around in games. They will probably come back and make this a game.

you are definitely not wrong. I heard a a NE beat guy this week talk about how BB will find your weak link and put his strongest guy out on it to fully exploit it. -

I hope so. I actually don’t think the patriots have anyone as good as Burns rushing from the edge. I know they think they do in Judon— but Burns is more of an elite edge rusher than Judon. So, hopefully Brown can hold up a little better. -
i would do that trade in a heartbeat! I love tamales. But I have never gotten up the courage to try to make them. It seems so challenging.
-
Yum. I have really been into making dumplings this year (your ordinary Chinese pork ones), including ‘making my own dough. Have made some that have come out restaurant quality. I haven’t upped my game to your level though! i saw this movie in the theater years ago, and the audience was audibly groaning with hunger during the dinner scene.

that is actually a better idea to swing Williams to LT. I just am unsure what the staff is thinking after Brown’s last game. -

nothing. It’s going to be too late now. i do wonder if the Bills might try something different this week— like leaving Spencer Brown at RT and using Doyle or Bates at LT. -

the only difference is last week, the pats were facing a QB who barely threw for 50 yards and nearly threw like 8 interceptions. I think they were basically stacking the box and playing the run given the sheer ineptitude of Wentz. That said, we aren’t talking about moss running wild. At least what I am hoping for is like 5-7 productive Carries out of the guy— which means maybe breaking off a few 5-yard runs and keeping the pats defense honest. Expectations are low. -
