Any Suggestions For Domestic Vacation Destinations?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Augie's topic in Off the Wall
St. John has to be my favorite carribbean island or at least in the top 3. Any time we stop on a cruise in St Thomas, we take the water taxi over there immediately and spend the day hiking and snorkeling all along those beaches. -
Caffeine - America’s #1 addiction - what’s your source?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall
i know the real pros measure out just the right amount of coffee, and grind their beans to the best size, pour the water at the right temp and in the right fashion, etc. i haven’t gotten to that point. i sort of figured out a regular ground coffee I like, eyeball it, and generally get the water right. I can tell when I hit a home run, but even if I am off, the pour over makes a great cup of coffee. when I was using my french press, the coffee was just too oily. Having it filtered through a pour over makes a huge difference. -
Big Ben might, might not, maybe, but probably retiring.

IMO, he is not throwing 10-yard passes because his arm is shot. It’s because his line is still a mess, and he can’t take the hits he used to. He can still sling it pretty good if he needs to. -

good question. Would take Ben R. Three super bowl appearances; two super bowl wins; winning season every year. Great in the clutch. Tough to argue with 18 straight years of success. i was watching some of the Steelers/cards 2008 super bowl last night (madden’s last game as an announcer). It is really something to watch Ben in that game in his prime. Scrambling, improvising, pump fakes, throwing darts. His GW TD throw to Holmes in the back of the endzone has to be a top-5 SB throw of all time. -

He can still play. He looks at the crappy QB’s out there and is probably thinking that if they can hide wentz and Mac Jones behind elite lines and running backs, he can surely do better than those guys. His arm strength at 40 with a bad elbow is better than Mac Jones. -

oh wow— great call. He would be a steal. The guy is a true defensive genius. -
Cornell has to be the most annoying team I have seen all year. Officials let them get away with constant reaching, hacking, and pushing too. Just an epically sloppy game.

i was a big French press guy, but love and much prefer my pour over now. A much cleaner taste. -
i liked hearing the other day how kingsbury refused to pump Ertz for information on the colts (re his time with reich and wentz). Said something like, “blood is thicker than water.” if I am Barkley, why am I telling the falcons anything? They are just using you and will cut you next week. Why actually even bother showing up honestly, or just tell them, “ if you want me to play or be part of the team, great; if you want me to just give you some insider knowledge, sorry.” It’s insulting, especially to a long-time vet.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Patriots (The Athletic)
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am a little surprised at the idea of Dane Jackson struggling against the pats. Giving up a few catches in zone coverage doesn’t seem like “struggling”— but I can’t read this and really haven’t gone back and watched the game again. -

i did the same. Did one of those cleansing 14-day vegan diets too at the same time. It was like death for 3 days. My whole body, head, joints ached. after the 14 days, I considered giving up caffeine for fear of another bout of withdrawal down the road. But i went back to it. just drink about a 20-ounce cup of coffee with cream and a few Splendas every morning. -
we went camping in the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania about 10 years ago. It rained the first night, so we headed into the nearby town of Wellsboro. I was just struck at how nice it was. Old Victorian homes; wide streets and sidewalks; gas lamps down the streets; quaint shops and restaurants. I am not sure how a neat little affluent quaint town is out there (maybe old timber money and tourism?), but it was such a gem. You can probably live right in the town, or in a number of woodsy areas outside of there. Then, in the area, you have these beautiful mountains, gorge, and like 100 miles of rail trails. you are also less than an hour to Watkins Glenn And that area of southern NY. I think the only downside is that it is remote— I am not sure what the nearest airport is. Probably a regional one?

my opponent (not a Bills fan) has Josh Allen going too. That said, I am not conflicted. I want Allen and the Bills to do really well, and to obviously win. But if it so happens that Patterson has a good game and— say— Devin vultures in to steal some of Josh’s TD’s, then I will resign myself to accepting that result.

agreed. Tom Brady proves this point. He just spent 20 years throwing 5-yard passes to Kevin Faulk (and various clones), and no one could stop him.
-
my fantasy team this year agrees. Just need one more great game out of CP for my first title in 20 years (yes, 20 years— that’s sad, I know).

Agreed I don’t know how many snaps Ankou has been getting, but every time I see him out there, he looks very good— stout at the point of attack.

Week 16 Bills Covid List - Players and Coaches

If this is the standard, then everyone except the super serious/hospitalized type guys will play. Won’t everyone else just load up on Tylenol and play? -

what is amazing about the Steelers is that they actually have a plausible path to the playoffs and a path to host a playoff game as a 4 seed still! They need to beat both cleveland and Baltimore (which they have already done this year). And cincy has to lose to KC and cleveland (cincy was blown out by cleveland earlier this year, so, again, plausible). If that plays out, there is a good chance New England goes to Pittsburgh. Assuming Watt is healthy, I would not like that matchup if I were you.
