  1. correct me if I am wrong, but the Bills have struggled against the run in a few games this year against gap heavy run offenses with elite line play. i believe the Falcons run more of an athletic outside zone running game, which is something the Bills’ defense is really designed to slow down. i don’t see Atlanta having anywhere near the success running as teams like the colts and pats have had against us (I don’t count the titans game, because outside of 1 long run, the run D was okay).
  2. very astute observation. Given that Zach Moss is a former Ute, I believe this also means that Moss will be a critical cog in said SB run. I am seeing 120 yards and 2 TD’s this Sunday.
  3. Team doctor: “Any symptoms?” Wentz: “(hacking cough) umm, no?” Team doctor: “you’re off the list. Go beat those raiders!”
  4. I agree that he made himself a target with his comments. But then he did go low profile and he recently said that the only reason he didn’t play last week was because of the “rules.” That “rules” comment got him featured articles calling him a selfish guy and basically an idiot— and yet, he was right. They changed the rules. I think it would have been better for all these players to be vaccinated. But a lot of guys weren’t (or faked that they were) and yet Cole really got the brunt of the media focus.
  5. i can’t believe the media crucified Cole Beasley, and Wentz and many other unvaccinated players will get a free pass and not a bad word mentioned about them.
  6. Agreed. The prior recruiting success breeds more success too, so it is impossible for these other schools to break into the elite group. i think the one game changer could be this NIL money now. I think you might see some more clever programs really put together big marketing plans for these recruits, where it will be more financially lucrative for some stud from Georgia to instead go and play in a better “market.”
  7. “Guys, if you don’t recruit, there’s no coach out there who can out-coach recruiting,” Smart said in his postgame press conference. “I don’t care who you are. The best coach to ever play the game better be a good recruiter because no coaching is going to out-coach players. Anyone will tell you our defense is good because we’ve got good players. Spending time on the phone, spending time with people at your house, spending time with people on your campus, I’m not with my family when I’m doing that. My family sacrifices so that I can go and spend time with other people’s families so that we can have good players. That’s 25% evaluation, 50% recruiting, and the other 25% is coaching. If you don’t recruit, guys, you’ve got no chance.” https://247sports.com/Article/Georgia-Kirby-Smart-explains-recruiting-will-always-beat-out-coaching-174192418/Amp/
  8. That is fair. There are coaches around the country who do a good job of coaching up and developing players. It’s more Noticeable with the programs without the twenty 5-star recruits.
  9. i mean, even Kirby Smart himself has said that college coaching is basically recruiting. And I haven’t yet heard anyone persuasively defend him ripping into his QB yesterday publicly and like a toddler when he had a TO he could have used and he called 2 running plays. That’s the kind of stuff that really bothers me about these big-time coaches. It’s not just Smart. Swinney does this same stuff all the time. That’s not development or coaching or teaching or accountability. It’s the opposite.
  10. well, haha— clearly you are a die hard dogs fan. To each his own. But publicly berating your QB when you have 2 TO’s you can call yourself and after your QB just had an epic half is all for show. Same with calling off the Gatorade bath. All for show. Now everyone has something to latch onto to show what a great coach he is. There is a reason that the same 3 teams are competing for the national championship every year— they get all the best players.
  11. well, I guess to each his own. But, in my view, these college coaches are nothing other than recruiters. They can yell and scream on the sidelines for theatrics—which is what Smart was clearly doing there. But that’s not coaching, and as is clear by the epic failure of guys like Saban and Meyer at the pro level, that stuff doesn’t fly or is effective except with 19-year old kids. But at the end of the day, the coaches at these top programs recruit. That’s it. They just sell kids, parents, boosters, and the media on signing up the best to play for them. They are recruiters.
  12. Stinks. He was probably the best one. But I suspect he will be back after a break. by the way, I haven’t watched this show in a few years. I feel like I sort of “discovered” the show though— watched from the very beginning and clued my friends and family into it.
  13. I need a little Bills fantasy advice. Looks like I may need to find a WR in a pinch as Antonio Brown may be out Sunday. I snagged McKenzie off waivers and have made a claim for Gabe Davis. Which one of these guys would you consider starting? I know Cole is back, but McKenzie had such a breakout game last week that i wonder if he will get a ton of looks again.
  14. Many of these college coaches are beyond annoying. Did you see Kirby Smart berate his QB at the end of the first half? It was so phony. And Saban is in a league of his own. The reality is that college football coaches are nothing more than used car salesmen.
  15. haha— thankfully these friends are much better than our “super bowl party friends”! Happy new year too!!
  16. Taking a bit longer to crunch numbers on that new roof!
  17. Walking out the door to a new year’s eve party and we get a call that the host’s kid has a fever. Canceled! Eating the crab dip and bacon wrapped dates we were going to bring, and playing video games with the kids. Oh well.
  18. unless Frazier suddenly becomes 20 years younger and starts drinking kaboucha juice and wearing skinny jeans, he is not getting a HC job anywhere.
  19. That town looks great! Straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie!
  20. i hear you. My wife’s extended family has a bunch of gluten, dairy, egg, etc. aversions or allergies. Feel bad for them— but it makes the food part of parties and events less fun and more of a headache. we have a bunch of friends who are the same. We were at one party and the stuff that was brought was comical. “You have to try these cookies— they are gluten, dairy, egg, sugar, and nut free!” i am just thankful my immediate family doesn’t have any of that stuff.
  21. Now, this is a real legend!!!
  22. i think he will get back on track. But that drop last game was inexcusable. That alone is reason to see the bench for a while.
