what I love about edwards is that he always keeps the ball high— never brings it down to where it will get stripped. he also really had a great game passing the ball. All the shooters will get wide open shots the more we can feed him the ball in the middle. great game by JG3 too. i get that Louisville was missing their best player, but both the O and D were playing really well today. i don’t know if they have an chance to make it even onto the bubble at this point, but if they keep trending up, they would be a tough out as a high seed in the tourney.

Should there be an NFL Lottery?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
isn’t the way to account for that to change the odds based on record, or narrow the lottery group to those with x wins or fewer? Not saying I would support the lottery, but there are measures in place that could still preserve parity. -
Kurt Warner - Josh Allen deserved the W
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Long Suffering Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
well said. i found the Warner analysis re the “lay ups” to be weird. He dissected a play where Josh was meant to read the end, and he was a bit slow in doing so, which meant he lost the chance to hit Singletary in the flat for an easy 5 yards. josh and others like him aren’t looking to the flat as their first read— which seemed to be the entire premise of Warner’s analysis. if there is something that josh legitimately can improve on, it is being able to throw better balls for his receivers to get YAC. But I think the lack of YAC is still Mostly on the type of receivers we have and the type of routes we run. -
Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy getting 2nd interview with Saints..

One of my theories on why EB never gets a chance is a bias against former RB’s. I think there is a view that the RB position is not a “smart” Position— ie, running backs rely on their athleticism. Contrast that with the QB position, and the view is that former QB’s really know the X’s and O’s. Same with former DB’s— they seem to be viewed as the brains behind the defense. if you think about it, what head coaches were former running backs? The only guy I can think of is Dan Reeves. -
Should there be an NFL Lottery?

great thought. It would also benefit the free agents. Maybe a guy like Addison would prefer to sign with another team once he knows the bills drafted those ends. -
Should there be an NFL Lottery?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
i was thinking the same— I think a lottery would generate a ton of excitement in the lead-up to the draft. i remember the year the Orlando Magic bucked the odds and won the lottery (was the year right after they had won it and drafted Shaq). It was pretty thrilling. I think their odds were like 1%. -
With all the talk about intentional tanking in Miami and Cleveland (stemming from the Flores lawsuit), should the NFL change its draft format? Jason McCourtey alluded to the NFL doing a lottery similar to the NBA, where basically the non-playoff teams go into the lottery for their draft position. The worst record team is guaranteed no worse than the 5th draft pick. Would such a system work in the NFL and be better for competitive balance and anti-tanking?

I feel like the Winter Olympics haven’t been well publicized. I randomly stumbled upon some women’s hockey on USA network. I didn’t even realize it had begun.

Another really nice offensive game by Cuse. Edwards really is developing at a great rate. He could be one of the best big men we have had in 20 years.

i also think people misunderstand a key purpose of the rule— it’s to get minority coaches in the door to help build relationships and expand networks. The problem with the NFL is systemic cronyism. People just hire the people they know. It’s why guys like Doug Marrone and Pat Shurmur bounce around the NFL. It’s why the Bills hire a bunch of Carolina guys. Its why every head coach hires his son. The rooney rule was designed to help minority coaches develop relationships and hopefully break up the usual suspects. But, I agree with you that the spirit and application of the rule need to be looked at closer. -
Jim Harbaugh is going back to Michigan.
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall
College is a different beast. he can’t recruit as well as his competitors. I think he is a good coach, but mediocre recruiter. And there’s no way he can recruit against the SEC. I think he is better suited as an NFL coach. -

I did not expect the response to be “elated,” for a guy desperate to leave. -
Pro Bowl implementing “Spot and Choose”

I think it has easily been 30 years since I watched any part of the pro bowl. Do people still watch it? -
Mike Munchak available for OL coach
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t disagree. But a guy like Munchak seems like he is thinking more about a bunch of other considerations— family, fit, relationships with the staff, stability, etc. I doubt he is solely hunting SB rings at this stage of his career. -

don’t disagree. My point is that it will be ultra competitive to get Munchak. He will be highly sought after. -

Webb is not our QB coach. Speculation was wrong
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
Webb has the ideal job here. He is the QB coach, but gets paid like a player.
