That is the model. Draft a franchise QB, and draft/develop young talent around them for the long haul, and be in the hunt for a SB every year. The Steelers had 3 SB appearances, 2 SB wins, and haven’t had a losing season in 19 years.
The NFL has really become a matchup league. I think you are better off trying to have a sustained successful model
to make the playoffs every year, and then try to get a path of favorable matchups to win the SB.
The Rams model is just risky, and it is no guarantee that it will work. They should have lost last week, when their heavily Leveraged defense choked. And, as constructed, there is no chance they could beat the Bills or Chiefs. They are lucky they won’t have to play them.
