If You Grew Up in Upstate NY.......
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to RevWarRifleman's topic in Off the Wall
heck, yeah! In the late 80s/early 90s, in rochester, we would jump off some of the bridges, old locks, and walls into the canal in our sneakers. We called it “scumming.” The cops were always looking out for kids scumming, so you had to do it on the down low. I was never as daring as my friends, and would mostly do it off lower cement walls, not bridges or locks (still probably 30 feet high). A buddy of mine also had a rope on a tree And we would swing out over the canal and jump in. in hindsight, it was pretty dangerous, given all the wood, debris, and other junk floating around there. -
Steelers having attendance issues...

To be fair, when you have a consistently winning team, standards are higher and so is disappointment. Fans get fat and happy. -
Rumor- Harrison Phillips not coming back

i feel bad for this poor buddy of his that you accosted. “Show me the text evidence— now!” -
How much $ is Trubusky going to sign for in FA?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trubisky in Pittsburgh is an ideal fit. I don’t get why he would go to NYG, where I think Jones would still be the presumptive starter. -
Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade

this is personally my favorite of the three threads. But I am hoping the next one today might have some potential. -
Per Adam Schefter: Cowboys likely to release Amari Cooper
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
i never cared for Cooper in oakland (too inconsistent), but then he had a really good first two years with Dallas and so I figured I was proven wrong. But I was right, especially with his contract value. -
This thread is pretty dumb, for all intensive purposes.

Right now, the odds favor the team that wins the coin toss. They need to devise a system where the odds won’t be stacked against one team based on pure chance. i think the Bills’ likely proposal of just playing another 5 or 10-minute quarter seems like it will even the odds.

Wish we could have stolen that win. They played very well, and Cole had a historic night— wish we had won for him.

Safer Punting Rules Coming??
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice! No rush on Haack— let him take 4 steps. -
i agree that their other items are overlooked. Great chicken and fish sandwiches. They actually have some good sides and apps, like mozz sticks and potato cakes. I had a buddy who used to swear by their regular deli sandwiches and subs (not sure they make them anymore).

I would argue that Arby’s horsey and Arby’s sauces are the best fast food condiments around. (Yes, I rank them above chic-fil-a sauces).
-
In 2001, I bought the 5 for 5 Arby’s deal, and proceeded to eat all 5 sandwiches (over two meals). I then did not return to Arby’s for a full 15 years.

Danielle Hunter, DE, the perfect trade candidate
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. They have invested significant draft capital at DE. Time to see if they were right. -
Kareem Hunt: Cut candidate. Possible 2022 Bill?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills did an investigation into the Dodson incident and found no credible evidence supporting it. While speciation on my part, if they found credible evidence, I would have thought they would have cut him, esp. since he was an undrafted rookie. -
Sad when ESPN tunes into the Syracuse/Duke game five minutes in, and the game is already over. i guess the only positive was Benny having his best game. Hopefully he can build on that.

The formatting and interface on that old board is like a present-day chiefs’ board.

In hindsight, what’s your worst “hot take” on TSW ever?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
re winfield, I was okay with it at the time. My reasoning was that the Bills could only pay one good corner and I thought Clements was better. But after that move, AW played at a high level and Clements declined. Re Pat Williams, I came to terms with it because I remember hearing that we tried to re-sign him, but he left for more money. I just suspect now we could have gotten it done if we really wanted to. Of course, he also went onto have additional productive years. -

it’s not my “narrative.” I just haven’t seen any evidence of them taking risks on character. You are right— nearly trading for AB may have been the one lone exception. But, if anything, that near miss has probably made them more risk averse. i don’t get why you think I am pushing a narrative. Whatever your opinions or my opinions are of this issue, my point is that there is no evidence of the current FO taking risks on character. There are no guys on this team with character red flags (esp since the Bills own investigation cleared Dodson— the one guy). -

i am also a homer. I still even look back at those drought rosters and think, “man, this seems like a good team.” I also had the same pro-RJ and pro-Kelsey views as you, so I won’t repeat them. for me: 1) I was a huge Tom Donahoe fan 2) I was also a big Chan Gailey fan 3) Approved of letting Winfield and Pat Williams walk. 4) Non-Bills take: Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning -

what makes you think this? I have never seen this front office give someone a second chance. They don’t take risks on character. -

here is an article. Bills general manager Brandon Beane says a team investigation found no credible evidence of Dodson committing an act of domestic violence. He adds the team's pre-draft evaluation of Dodson showed no history of him getting into legal trouble. https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/40138693 My conjecture of him being cut is pretty obvious. The Bills were not going to keep an undrafted rookie free agent if they discovered he beat up his girlfriend. You can call that Conjecture, but guys on the bubble aren’t really given the benefit of the doubt like your first rounders, etc.
