  1. Just tuned in and this sounds like a home Lions game?!
  2. you have the benefit of hindsight. In the moment, there is absolutely a benefit to try to build and keep winning down to the end, for purposes of momentum, culture, player development, playing hard for each other, and learning how to win, etc. The best example of that was the 1997 Falcons. Pretty bad team. Meh QB in Chris Chandler. Started like 1-8 or something like that, and then won a bunch of games to end the season. That momentum carried over to the next season when that team went to the SB. I guess separate and apart from that, I am not here as a fan to play the long game, which usually doesn’t work out anyway. Just want to see my team play hard and win right now. The draft stuff will take care of itself.
  3. Just looking at the snap counts for the game. Buffalo Joe played 26 snaps and came away with 8 tackles?! That’s nuts.
  4. agree. We all Sort of look past all those 3rd and longs that Josh converts with ease.
  5. Both teams are going to be running backwards for safeties all game!
  6. that’s not a respectful type of question to ask right after a loss. Maybe during the week. But no one asks, “how great is that opposing QB who just smoked you 5 minutes ago?” That reporter was trying to rile him up.
  7. pretty gracious of Rodgers to answer that question. A lot of players would have exploded at that sort of question after a loss.
  8. agreed. one thing I have noticed though is that in zone, bishop seems to be now playing with an extra big cushion. That might be the coaches telling him to do that. Or it could be he is still gaining his footing as to how to settle into the zone coverages. But I have felt that if he can play “down” a bit more, he’d be in such better positions to explode to the ball.
  9. I am an “always root for a win” fan. More important to have guys that play hard and sometimes these late season wins can build great momentum for the following year. Also, when we were in the drought, I figured draft position didn’t matter anyway because we were going to screw up the pick regardless. 😃
  10. If the Steelers lose and chargers win, then I believe Steelers get the 6.
  11. Agree re the Bills at Chiefs. But I will tell you—if the matchup is Steelers(6)/Ravens(3) in round 1, I would bet on the Steelers to win that game. Those games are basically coin flips every time, and Tomlin is going to have his guys ready to smash the ravens in the mouth.
  12. One of my favorite plays is when Phillips picked off that pass and immediately slid. That dude always seems to get injured on fluke plays, like interception returns. Smart to just slide asap.
  13. True, but Tua may not play, which makes it a bit of a toss up.
  14. I would prefer Denver, but I am resigned to the fact that it will be Cincy. They aren’t losing. And Denver and Miami both seemed primed to choke.
  15. I was pretty disappointed today that that 40-yard completion to Coleman was negated by basically a non-existent hold on Spencer brown. Just an awful call. One of many. And took away really one of the best plays of the game.
  16. So Siriani is out there getting Barkley 31 carries in a 40-point blowout so he can beat the rushing record? Seems pretty lame.
  17. Agreed. Dude will have like 30 tackles and the legend will grow!
  18. i would be curious to see their snap counts and if there is a big discrepancy.
  19. I don’t think I have seen such a poorly officiated game in my life. On both teams. The flags they threw even on the Jets were very suspect. Totally ruined the flow of the game for both teams.
  20. After loving the NBA in the 80s and 90s, I lost interest for a long time. But I really got back into the NBA again about 5-10 years ago or so. Haven’t been watching the last few years as much though. i think the main issue is the players are actually all too good offensively now. Everyone can shoot 3s, even all the 7-footers. The other issue— alluded to in the article— is there are no great rivalries anymore. I think what the league needs is some new stars, and hopefully ones who will create some legit rivalries, as opposed to everyone wanting to play on super teams.
  21. the way to beat the jets is to pound the rock. I am hoping that’s what we do, rather than force the ball downfield just to boost stats.
  22. Messing around with the playoff machine, If the browns can upset the ravens in week 18 (never know with a division game) And Steelers win, ravens may end up As the 5, and steelers As the 3. That would Really be ideal.
  23. Nice gesture, but his fiancée’s not letting him leave the house with that gaudy thing on. 🤣
  24. No chance Lamar wins. Just too much Lamar MVP fatigue. The voters will want to give it to someone else, and Allen (and even Goff) have solid cases.
  25. yeah, I think the real draft miss was taking Coleman one spot ahead of McConkey. McConckey looks like a complete receiver, though I am not sure how much of the time he plays from the outside vs the slot.
