  1. haha. I can see it now. No receivers line up, and we have 4 RBs all go out and run check down routes. “your move, Mr. Allen. Your move.”
  2. Now let’s go get Star!! 😄
  3. seriously, insane. That said, I would argue that his one catch at the goal line was also spectacular. The ball was deflected mid air, Benford then got his hand in to deflect it again at the Point of contact, and jefferson dove down and still caught it. This was right before their failed QB sneak.
  4. What’s better than building a dome stadium? Borrowing your buddy’s for free!
  5. Agreed. That said, Jefferson made about 5 catches just like that during the game with the DB’s arm in the way. I still have no idea how.
  6. All good! Probably should have used an emoji. But I agree with your prior post!
  7. I am thankful that Tre White has been able to get such restful nights sleep, laying his head on his soft piles of money.
  8. Nice!! Here comes Stevenson!!!!
  9. Kinda wonder if Allen forced that last throw to Gabe because he knew the options start looking meager if they had just plodded down to inside the 10.
  10. we used to do this a little with Onuwaku— sort of run the offense inside out. Also, at least one problem is these guys can’t or won’t pass.
  11. does Bellichick have any successful head coaches from his coaching tree? (I don’t really count Nick Saban, who was an NFL failure). your description of Vrabel here is something I probably could have written verbatim. I will note though that he never coached under Bellichick. I also read that his time playing for Pittsburgh may have influenced his coaching more than his time as a player in NE.
  12. This is a game where it helps to have Hines. Just dump it off to him a bunch.
  13. wind looking like 18 MPH, but gusts over 35 MPH. That may be the biggest issue with the weather this week.
  14. Welp, the annual blow-out loss to Colgate. I have no idea what Syracuse does on offense. Just a bunch of guys running iso. Looks like a YMCA game.
  15. We actually tried to run it early in the second half. Very predictable runs on first down and the vikes run blitzed and it put us in second long all second half. I would prefer just a lot more play action on first down especially. Then sneak some runs in here and there.
  16. Jerry is great. Sacks are weird. Jerry would always get pressure, but would have some years where he just couldn’t finish. That can be bad luck more than anything. Glad he is getting some this year.
  17. thanks— that explains it! It is amazing what a weather nerd I have become because of this team. If they could run the ball, I would be less worried!
  18. Agreed. It’s the wind that poses the problem. It’s still early, but the wind looks around 15 MPH, but gusts up to 30 MPH, which could be an issue. Amazingly, the highest wind time of the entire week every week always seems to be around 1 PM on Sundays. It’s uncanny.
  19. Same here. When my one son reminded me too during the game, I said, “that’s okay. We are alright.” we are alright, indeed. Talk about some bad fatherly advice.
  20. My direct quote in the GDT before the Catch: “I already know the next play call. Cousins is just going to lob this up to Jefferson. Just going to be a jump ball basically.” And what Cousins actually said before the play: “Before we left the huddle,” Jefferson told me from the locker room in Buffalo, “Kirk said to me, ‘Hey, I might just throw this up to you.’ Kirk knew. We just needed to make something happen.” https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/11/14/tom-brady-germany-peter-king-fmia-week-10/
  21. The entire D is much different with Poyer back there. That said, these young guys did okay for like 80% of the game. Recall we were up 27-10, and outside of that first drive, had held Jefferson in check. then, in a very complimentary way, the wheels came off the entire team. If the O didn’t go 3 and out a bunch, I suspect the last quarter would have looked a lot different.
  22. not selfishness— it was instinct. It was a great play on the ball. Sure, with hindsight, I am sure he would like to have batted down. But it was a good play. Jefferson made a better one.
