  1. I see your Antonio Williams, and raise you a Christian Wade.
  2. Honestly, that was a moral victory. They really kept it close 3/4 of the game. Just Couldn’t get stops.
  3. Absolutely. That was his draft profile. He was considered very athletic. They want guys it seems who are athletes and can pass protect and get out into space on these wide zone runs. The problem is all their athletic linemen aren’t athletic enough. Maybe they would be better off with some big beefy guys who can plow into defenders and run more gap-style runs?
  4. we are just not built to play in this weather. The 90s team had a solid running game when needed. You can’t have a pass heavy finesse game in our weather. It’s not the QB— the receivers can’t catch anything.
  5. The last place I want to play is in Buffalo in the playoffs.
  6. i am not disagreeing that our current interior oline isn’t great. But will investing high draft picks really help? look at the patriots. They have undrafted and late round picks at their three interior oline spots and their backup guard (Owenu— who is better than anyone we have). i think the problem is oline philosophy and evaluation. We try to get quicker athletic guys, not road graders. Maybe we need to change the type of interior olineman we are looking for.
  7. agree. I think we are a better team, and I look forward to the re-match. Games like yesterday are weird and based entirely on execution. Can you make a big play here or there, and avoid mistakes? The pats out-executed us— made one big run play, made two FG’s, and other than 1 fumble, mostly avoided any mistakes. by contrast, we made no real big plays, and instead had 4-5 huge drops, a horribly Timed penalty, missed a FG, and had an inexcusable fumble.
  8. didn’t we already do this a little with Morse (high paid free agent center), Ford (2nd round pick), and Brown (3rd round pick)?
  9. i actually thought he might do that against the pats— but I am a big Antonio Williams homer.
  10. I was saying this before the game. Take the wind if you win the coin toss.
  11. I think everyone assumed that to be the case today. Just look at what happened to the pats on their PR return. MCK and Stevenson have been too dicey back there
  12. Agreed. Let all the “fire so and so” emotional reactions subside in the next few days. It’s clear to me the Bills are better, but the pats out-executed us today in a game where there was no margin for error due to the weather. let’s see how they play in NE in a few weeks.
  13. what’s funny is that if Bass made that FG, we probably win this game 16-14.
  14. The question could have been framed in a more professional way. And I didn’t think they “snapped” at anyone.
  15. He needs to make a big play when he has the chance. The one I am disappointed in the most was the one in the endzone. He is so much bigger and stronger than the DB. You wish he could make a play.
  16. I said this in the GDT. Why was Griese going on and on about that pats safety who made that last play? It seemed like josh threw it to the wrong spot there— I don’t know what he was seeing (was he going to sanders? Or did he think Beasley was sort of cutting back?). In any event, i am not sure that safety does anything except stand there.
  17. What is preventing the patriots from basically just running this exact same gameplan against us in 3 weeks? We had 11 guys trying to stop the run, but couldn’t. If you were BB, wouldn’t you just do the same thing?
  18. sometimes you need your skill players to make big plays. He dropped 3-4 key balls, and made no big plays.
  19. In the pre-game thread, I said this game would come down to execution and physicality. We lost on both, and lost the game. The weather didn’t help— but the dropped passes, missed FG, penalties, and bad Redzone calls led to the loss.
  20. Explain to me how that pats defender made a good play. Josh threw it to the wrong spot?
