i said this earlier this week— but I view Tua as a better version of Mac Jones. If you swapped those two guys right now, Tua would be playing a lot better/producing much more and Mac would be floundering much more.

they did pressure him some— but Josh made them pay every time. Also, contrary to what people are saying here, the pats didn’t just rush 3 all day. They rushed 4-5 consistently, and blitzed and zone blitzed all through the game. I think the line just blocked really well. And when they didn’t, Josh did a great job of making a play. For example, you should re-watch the huge 3rd and 10 conversion on the last drive. Josh hangs in there, avoids major pressure, and hits McKenzie for a perfect pass.

I think QB 1 is Tua and QB 2 is Mac? edit: just saw your answer and that makes more sense. I figured Mac would have fewer sacks per game.

I am sort of shocked, but I would bet on the Browns to make the playoffs. 1) They have to beat the Steelers and bengals (they smoked the bengals earlier this year). 2) The Bengals lose to the chiefs. Likely. 3) The Ravens lose to the Rams. Likely. They are coached by former titans OC, Arthur Smith. And what you describe reminds me of pretty much every Titans game. A bunch of 4-yard runs, and a timely big pass or turnover.

Agreed. It is very important to play our best football now and trend up. I want to see the same energy and execution the next two weeks. Need to build.

I can understand if they had called it a foul. But I am not sure how the pats could be so outraged by the non-call. Everyone saw that Hughes was trying to stop Mac from falling, and Mac tried to dive. Not getting a ticky tack freebie flag there isn’t cause for outrage.

the one thing I will say is that I was surprised that Mac was wearing these bionic metal Knee braces. He looked like part robot.

don’t think there is a fix for the run D. As you said, it is more style/scheme. We have a penetrating fast D. That means we will get a lot of no gain/-1 yard stops with guys getting into the backfield. But against these big gap running teams like the colts and patriots, they are going to get their runs. what we need to do is limit the long runs (which has really only become a problem for us this year), and that mostly comes down to tackling.

This was really the difference between a solid defensive performance and a stellar one. The D held them to 1 for 10 on 3rd downs! Yet, the pats converted like 5 for 6 on 4th down. The only 4th down stop was the Hyde pick to end the game. if we had come up with even one 4th down stop, this game would have been a total blowout. The reality is that the pats O basically played a perfect game, but still was held in check. They were on the edge though of getting blown out.

They don’t use Harris right. It’s similar to what we do. This Matt Canada is in love with outside zone runs, but their oline isn’t athletic enough to pull it off. If they just pounded Harris more between the tackles, he would be more effective.
