  1. I am here because I figured this would soon turn into a “build a dome” thread.
  2. Nice! i canceled Netflix and so am waiting until maybe next month to sign up again and watch the new season.
  3. whoa really? I didn’t know he has been trying to leave. I don’t follow college football a ton, but I usually will try to loosely keep abreast of Big 10 Stuff.
  4. i bet no. He probably wants Harbaugh to stay there. I bet there would be some tension with his fellow alumni too if he were to poach him— I think Ross is pretty active at the school, if I recall.
  5. well, I didn’t say that. But I also don’t think BB can claim Vrabel as a success from his coaching tree. He never coached under him.
  6. I would argue college is a totally different animal. The stuff that gets these BB disciples into trouble in the NFL works in college. Haha— you are too generous. Vrabel gives out a lot of credit, including to his time with the Steelers too. The fact that when he started, he built his staff with ex-Steelers, suggests to me that the NE influence is less or at least tempered. The reality is Vrabel doesn’t seem to coach in any way or manner like Bellichick or the other former NE coaches— who seem to try to rule with an iron fist. Maybe he learned in NE also what not to do.
  7. I believe his coaching tree has a 0% success rate. The patriot way isn’t something that can be replicated outside of BB and New England. I actually don’t think BB could replicate it himself elsewhere. It only worked because Brady helped generate very early success.
  8. i agree. It is absurd. When they released that video of him talking about running the ball, the media started fawning over him. This, despite all him saying was that running the ball keeps defenses honest. then the media went bananas over his comments about Gruden resigning. And of course over all the 4th down analytics stuff. Not saying he is a bad coach, but the media has been obsessed for no real reason over him.
  9. Could be the greatest thing I ever watched there. I can’t believe he kicked it. It was like a victory for old school football over analytics.
  10. I don’t even know what I am rooting for at this point.
  11. This is why everyone loves Herbert. Talk about clutch under pressure.
  12. Agreed! Thanks, Jags. I have already donated $17 to Urban Meyer’s legal defense team.
  13. yeah, that is probably the scenario. That said, Pittsburgh is playing with house money. No expectations. Big Ben’s last dance. It wouldn’t surprise me if he mustered up some of the old magic and the defense kept them in this game. KC just absolutely smoked Pitt a few weeks ago. As weird as it sounds, I don’t think there is a chance they could repeat that.
  14. A few random observations about the game: 1) I thought it was interesting how the Bills lined Ed Oliver up at times at DE. He got one of his sacks from the DE position. 2) Zach Wilson was bad. But I have to think that the NYJ bad playcalling, Wilson without his main receivers and starting olineMen, and the wind were major factors. He can’t be as bad as he looked today. 3) I think the wind impacted our offense a lot. That said, the jets sort of also made some solid defensive plays (albeit barely). They stopped the Bills a lot by like a yard or two on 3rd downs. The way Haack was punting, I think the Bills were probably better off going for it. But those stops right at the sticks a bunch really kept the jets in the game.
  15. i think the execution errors were probably related to the weather, at least in part. The drops and overthrows certainly were connected. The wind makes it really hard to catch balls, especially when your QB has to zip them in harder. The wrong routes though— would love to hear an explanation on that.
  16. Whatever it is, It’s usually played at the Akron Zips stadium.
  17. The wind also causes issues for receivers. Just lots of drops and balls that seem hard to adjust to. If we played today in perfect weather conditions, we would have won by 30 points.
  18. What happened with Andre Roberts? I missed it and they keep showing his face, so I assume something bad. Fumble?
  19. it seemed like it worked the first time he did it. He hit that low liner the first time that cut through the wind and ended up rolling about 40 yards.
  20. hey, that’s why I started my color commentator thread earlier this week. This game proved my point. Such empty commentary.
  21. Can someone explain to me Zach Wilson? I actually thought coming into this game that he was a lot better and much more elusive too. That was probably the worst performance by a QB against us this year.
  22. I like the ref just yelling at him instead of throwing the flag.
