  1. This is verbatim from the victim’s complaint (they don’t quote the call): 15. The pretext call with Araiza occurred the following day, October 28, 2021, at approximately 8:15 p.m. During the call, Araiza confirmed having sex with Doe, even telling her that she should get tested for STDs. When the detectives heard this, they instructed Doe to say, "Wait, what std?" Araiza told Doe that he had tested positive for chlamydia, at which time Doe was instructed to say, "So you know what to get tested for Ok, that makes me feel a bit better." To cement the criminal case against Araiza, the detectives asked Doe to ask again, "And did we have actual sex?" The detectives knew that asking such a direct question like this might raise red flags for Araiza, which they tried to manage by telling Doe to ask the question "When you can bring it up again." As expected, however, when Doe asked the awkward question, Araiza immediately changed his tone, saying, "This is Matt Araiza. I don't remember anything that happened that night," at which time he terminated the pretext call by hanging up on Doe.
  2. the only plausible explanation is that Haack is terrible and there was no chance he was getting the job— which is quite plausible!
  3. This is really the bottom line. Even if they had known about this as simply an accusation in April, he would have been off their board. That is frankly why it is so easy to root for this team. We don’t have to be like chiefs fans and try to weakly justify all the terrible misconduct by our players. The Bills want a team of high character guys, and it means passing on guys where there are even question marks.
  4. I think that explains why the bills cut Haack even knowing of the allegations. Haack was never going to make this team. Anyone else is basically better.
  5. The team cannot place him on the exempt list. Only the NFL can, and they won’t here because the conduct occurred prior to the draft.
  6. Crazy that this thread is over 200 pages and yet we all know the outcome. He is a punter (probably the least important starting position) and now a distraction to the team, and so he will be cut on or before Tuesday.
  7. I think the timing is more of an indictment on Haack. Seems like the team would be fine just grabbing a guy off the street over Haack, if necessary.
  8. Git r done, buddy!! (I am not sure what there is get done, though).
  9. Nah— not necessarily saying Blackshear is the next Eckler. I just don’t know. But RB is such a weird position where these diamonds in the rough can easily be found. Just wish that sometimes these teams (not just the Bills) trust their eyes at the RB position, and not just go with the higher drafted guys. But we all know how this ends for Blackshear. Taiwan is not going anywhere.
  10. Don’t forget that Austin Ekeler was an undrafted free agent. He only got a chance because Melvin Gordon held out. Sometimes you have to roll the dice on these late-round and undrafted RBs.
  11. Also, the Bills traded Cody Ford. Thought I would let you guys know this breaking news. 😁
  12. Sometimes the young see things most clearly!
  13. I agree. It makes no sense. You can only get 11 guys on the field at a given time— isn’t that a natural way to protect the value of the product?
  14. Been on here since 1998 (As a “guest” for the first four years, until y’all made me register). WHatever happened to that one guy who decided one day to just become a Steelers fan to improve his quality of life?!
  15. Cook has looked pretty good. The only guy who has looked better is future hall of famer Raheem Blackshear.
  16. I think part of the problem with the oline in the past had to do with scheme— specifically, the RPOs we would run. Guys like Ford should not be running RPO’s. They need to just go out and blast some people. With those RPOs, the linemen almost have to block in a very tentative manner.
  17. i agree that the league has changed, but in a way that has actually made top-end RB value even more worthless. There really are no more premium running backs, outside of like two guys. And everything is really a time share. That’s what makes it frustrating when teams still won’t give these undrafted guys a chance. Odds are— if actually given a chance— Blackshear will outproduce Devin. But we will never know.
  18. there is always a stud preseason RB that we never give a chance to. I would even go back to Lionel Gates, who was our 7th rounder in 2005 and lit it up in preseason. there is a serious bias in the NFL Against late-round RBs. And yet so many late rounder or undrafted guys— when actually given the chance— succeed in the NFL (Priest Holmes, Arian Foster, Willie Parker, Fred Jackson, Terrell Davis, etc.)
  19. Well, it’s all relative. All three are great in the sense that they can all meaningfully contribute to the DL rotation.
  20. would be really painful to lose Bryant, ankou, or love to the giants. Those guys are all really great.
  21. "You get six touchdowns on six drives, obviously nobody did good. So we have to evaluate the group as a whole. We have to tackle better. We have to hold the point better. Everything," Hackett said. "Obviously, our defense didn't play good enough. The offense didn't play good enough, especially in the beginning. But that's why we do this."
  22. I don’t mind this if the market dictates it. But this is all the more reason that they need to really open up training camp to the masses. That’s really the way you can get the whole family to enjoy the team. Having the limited tickets to camp and the failure or the app still really irks me.
  23. the paint colors are way too dated. They need to re-paint the entire interior. It looks like Trading Spaces circa 2001.
