  1. Apparently, I am the only guy here who likes sweeney! 😃 give the guy a chance! I thought he has flashed at times. He played 6 games as a rookie, and missed his entire second season, so he is still really inexperienced still. I think he can still develop into a solid #2 TE.
  2. i am not a doctor, but I agree. Very obvious spleen. I would suggest Dr. Andrews do an immediate removal. It may also make sense to remove the gallbladder and one kidney, as well.
  3. looks like they are moving from the “Matt’s” to the Ty’s.”
  4. I was shocked at how good Duke looked against the Colts. Didn’t think he had those moves.
  5. if you are the cops and are investigating a crime, I agree with you— you talk to the victim And her lawyer. if you are a company that gets a call from a lawyer who is going to file a lawsuit, you probably go on the defensive. I think that’s what happened here. It’s not like that lawyer was calling to be a friend— I suspect he wanted the bills to pay some of the money towards a settlement.
  6. That’s why i don’t understand how people are faulting the bills for not calling back the victim’s lawyer as part of the investigation. There was no purpose for him to contact the team except to somehow get the team involved in paying to settle the case. The Bills lawyers had to be concerned about any additional communications with him.
  7. why did the Ps attorney contact the Bills before filing the complaint? What would be the purpose of that?
  8. This is verbatim from the victim’s complaint (they don’t quote the call): 15. The pretext call with Araiza occurred the following day, October 28, 2021, at approximately 8:15 p.m. During the call, Araiza confirmed having sex with Doe, even telling her that she should get tested for STDs. When the detectives heard this, they instructed Doe to say, "Wait, what std?" Araiza told Doe that he had tested positive for chlamydia, at which time Doe was instructed to say, "So you know what to get tested for Ok, that makes me feel a bit better." To cement the criminal case against Araiza, the detectives asked Doe to ask again, "And did we have actual sex?" The detectives knew that asking such a direct question like this might raise red flags for Araiza, which they tried to manage by telling Doe to ask the question "When you can bring it up again." As expected, however, when Doe asked the awkward question, Araiza immediately changed his tone, saying, "This is Matt Araiza. I don't remember anything that happened that night," at which time he terminated the pretext call by hanging up on Doe.
  9. the only plausible explanation is that Haack is terrible and there was no chance he was getting the job— which is quite plausible!
  10. This is really the bottom line. Even if they had known about this as simply an accusation in April, he would have been off their board. That is frankly why it is so easy to root for this team. We don’t have to be like chiefs fans and try to weakly justify all the terrible misconduct by our players. The Bills want a team of high character guys, and it means passing on guys where there are even question marks.
  11. I think that explains why the bills cut Haack even knowing of the allegations. Haack was never going to make this team. Anyone else is basically better.
  12. The team cannot place him on the exempt list. Only the NFL can, and they won’t here because the conduct occurred prior to the draft.
  13. Crazy that this thread is over 200 pages and yet we all know the outcome. He is a punter (probably the least important starting position) and now a distraction to the team, and so he will be cut on or before Tuesday.
  14. I think the timing is more of an indictment on Haack. Seems like the team would be fine just grabbing a guy off the street over Haack, if necessary.
  15. Git r done, buddy!! (I am not sure what there is get done, though).
  16. Nah— not necessarily saying Blackshear is the next Eckler. I just don’t know. But RB is such a weird position where these diamonds in the rough can easily be found. Just wish that sometimes these teams (not just the Bills) trust their eyes at the RB position, and not just go with the higher drafted guys. But we all know how this ends for Blackshear. Taiwan is not going anywhere.
  17. Don’t forget that Austin Ekeler was an undrafted free agent. He only got a chance because Melvin Gordon held out. Sometimes you have to roll the dice on these late-round and undrafted RBs.
  18. Also, the Bills traded Cody Ford. Thought I would let you guys know this breaking news. 😁
  19. Sometimes the young see things most clearly!
  20. I agree. It makes no sense. You can only get 11 guys on the field at a given time— isn’t that a natural way to protect the value of the product?
  21. Been on here since 1998 (As a “guest” for the first four years, until y’all made me register). WHatever happened to that one guy who decided one day to just become a Steelers fan to improve his quality of life?!
  22. Cook has looked pretty good. The only guy who has looked better is future hall of famer Raheem Blackshear.
  23. I think part of the problem with the oline in the past had to do with scheme— specifically, the RPOs we would run. Guys like Ford should not be running RPO’s. They need to just go out and blast some people. With those RPOs, the linemen almost have to block in a very tentative manner.
