  1. I have noticed that with Keenum, he plays better when he gets starter reps all week. I expect him to do fine this week.
  2. Now isn’t the time to take chances on struggling players on bad teams. Maybe the old Bills would. I don’t need this guy getting some bone-headed late hit penalty in a crucial game.
  3. I personally love the zone. But even from my own experiences playing a lot of bball myself, it is so much easier to rebound playing man defense than zone. In recent years, we haven’t had the athletes to play the zone and then the rebounding has suffered too. So I am on board with mixing it up.
  4. well, ugh! normally, this wouldn’t be bad. But if Allen is out, we could use that time.
  5. that makes sense to me. Considering that they will get the super long layoff after thanksgiving too, that is probably the smart move.
  6. yeah, they had some real dogs. The difference is we knew they were a good team, so we didn’t panic like we do now.
  7. Really nice opener. Some good athletes on this team. I actually think man helps them out more on the boards more than anything. really like Maliq Brown in particular— thought he played very well. Wonder if JB goes 10 deep all season. Gone are the days of 6 deep— lose all those guys you want to develop to the portal now.
  8. Case looks better when he has a full week of starter reps, which I expect he is getting now. Looks shaky when he comes in cold off the bench.
  9. Nothing we can do if Allen is hurt and can’t play. Just need Case to hold down the fort.
  10. that’s not the criteria for a backup QB. You want your backup to get you to .500. I have no doubt that Case can help us go 2-2 if he has to start the next four.
  11. I don’t like to do this very often, but this is feeling like an All-Valley championship type moment. Point me to the Ulnar, because I got this.
  12. that’s what makes it particularly hilarious, to me. (Plus, I think it is because it is Cousins’ old team).
  13. they have some really great content. Several excellent podcasts, And they have relationships it seems with some bills players and beat writers.
  14. I said this coming into the Jets game, but the thing that this team needs is to learn how to “win ugly.” there is a little Clip I post below, where the commenters made this same point about the patriots. Brady would be off, or guys would be injured, or they just wouldn’t play their best. In those games, they still knew how to win. Key ST play, decent game from a RB, not turning the ball over, etc. For us, that means not turning the ball over, taking the check downs, making some FG’s, hitting good punts, playing field position, letting the other inferior teams make mistakes. If we had done that yesterday, it would have been an easy but maybe ugly 20-10 win. I think a lot of this comes down to coaching and offensive playcalling and decision-making. The Bills really need to play cleaner games. This is a long season— can’t always play your best football or be fully healthy. But you still have to gut out wins. https://www.espn.com/espnplus/player?id=27820471
  15. agreed, esp based on the crew out there today. They didn’t even overrule that spot for the Jets when the ball clearly hit the line of gain. Not reversing anything close.
  16. 55-yarder is no gimme. More bothered by the kick out of bounds— his second of the year. I think they have him really try to sky those and place them in a precise spot— juice may not be worth the squeeze.
  17. I agree. But I think the problems are the D-line not winning. Earlier in the year, they were killing it. That allowed the LBs to feast. Today was a bit of an anomoly because the bills dlinemen were also held quite a bit. if there is any issue past the line, it is mostly with J. Johnson. Takes bad angles and misses too many tackles.
  18. There was lots of holding by the jets on those big runs. On one of their biggest runs, Phillips was held badly. I actually don’t mind if they let that go— but to call that hold on DD at the end then, it really had to have been egregious. And it wasn’t. Killed that drive.
  19. The problems with the run D do not relate to Taron. It’s like 90% our d-line getting beat at the point. Two games in a row.
  20. agreed. That, plus I think Dawkins arms being on the outside made it a bad look.
