To be fair to Elam, the guy hasn’t had any in-game action, and was then left on an island 1-on-1 with Ridley (and without a lot of pressure from our D-line). Just a recipe for disaster.
ugh. You should see the stats of when Josh ran playaction under center yesterday. I can’t find them now, but saw them yesterday— it was something absurd, like 5 for 5, for 180 yards and a TD.
Perfect combo of scheme, playcalling, and personnel.
it’s not like the bills and other teams haven’t tried similar stuff. Just usually can’t pull it off. For example, we tried to be an outside zone running teams for years, with zero success.
I have no doubt that they were jet lagged. But that really doesn’t fully explain the offense’s woes. Just really poor playcalling and easy drops derailed those first few drives. Maybe the penalties were caused by those guys dragging, but not even sure about that, since I think more of the penalties were on the D.
I also thought the defense played with a ton of heart and energy, despite being ridiculously short-handed. So why did they have energy and the O didn’t?
was thinking the same thing Re that Allen “interception.” That too was just total luck— bad luck. DB got his hand in there late basically after Diggs caught it.
to your point, crazy to see these headlines that say Etienne had a monster game. I guess he did, but he was basically held to like 20 yards for 80% of this game.
Maybe O needed better TOP to help them out.
crazy too they think that little sprint draw was going to work when it went for negative yards every time we tried it today.
can’t understand how they aren’t scheming Kincaid to get open.
Defense played inspired with all the injuries.
O scheme is what held them back. Needed to go down field all game. Nothing open short and in the run game.
