  1. Really good point. There is an art to winning these gritty games, esp against tough opponents, or in bad weather, or not playing your best football. Patriots did this for 20 years. That said, I also think there is a lot to be said for peaking at the right time. My hope is that we use these last few weeks to create momentum. I actually thought the run game last week was going to be something we build on. Maybe it comes back next week.
  2. I was fully expecting that onside kick to squirt out into the waiting hands of Waddle, to race it back for a TD.
  3. They have been decimated by injuries this year, even far worse than us. If they are fully healthy and get in, they will be trouble. Would prefer the jets getting in!
  4. Classic chargers trying to blow this game.
  5. My one Steelers friend buddy once made this observation about Tua: Tua just sits alone on the sideline, doing nothing. Every other QB seems to be studying stuff or looking at the iPad or talking with other guys. He always just sits there by himself, staring off into space.
  6. Ekeler is such a great check-down back. Always a little wiggle and an extra 5-10. Herbert would be totally lost without him.
  7. Tua is more athletic, but White seems to have a much better arm.
  8. probably can’t hear with the 70,000 visiting fans screaming the entire time.
  9. Chargers actually have to be one of the most unlucky teams too in the NFL. I am sure this game will end with some crazy fluke play against them too.
  10. That’s why I loved when Antoine Winfield junior taunted Hill to his face in the Super Bowl. Knew he would get the flag, and it was 15 yards so well spent.
  11. Haha. That is so unreal. let’s see if Tua throws 6 dropped picks again too.
  12. i love how that fins message board is complaining about how they don’t have big receivers like the chargers! First world football problems!
  13. I don’t know. Seems risky. that’s how you also give up huge plays. A few plays ago Hill was wide open with a totally lost safety 8 yards behind him. Tua blew the Throw, but don’t think you can depend on that. the bills actually did a really nice job of keeping Hill and Waddle in check last game, mostly playing zone.
  14. y’all want to play press man against these receivers next week?!
  15. no throws into the endzone on every goal to go play. Awful.
  16. Brown had the ball in his chest, with momentum, and let Sauce pop it out. Gotta help your QB out!
  17. compare that catch to the one John brown couldn’t haul in today!
  18. I thought hines would be making those same moves that Ekeler just made. Makes a check down into 10 every time.
  19. I can forgive McKenzie for those drops, just because he is always going to be that sort of inconsistent player. But for more skilled guys like Knox and Brown— you would hope they could help their QB out and haul in a hard catch. For Brown, I have seen receivers every week make much harder and contested catches against us on a regular basis. Just about every completion against Dane involves Dane’s hand basically touching the ball!
  20. agreed. This is an age-old story of undrafted or low-drafted running backs. So many of them are indistinguishable from first rounders and so many of them never get a chance due to draft position. It’s very weird.
