he is practicing today, so hopefully trending in the right way.

it is really bizarre that they are doing all of this talking. Sounds like it could be less about cockiness, and more about being insecure.

I mean, the Ravens are really stout against the run. I think they are third. But we are fourth!

When are week 18 game times going to be set?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t understand how the NFL can delay these announcements like this. People have to plan! -
oddly enough, I say “happy new year.” I think my adding of the “S” is only for grocery stores. All grocery stores must end with an S!

It’s cute that both teams are scheming on defense. But the reality is that this game is going to be a shoot-out. I actually think also despite how stout the interior is of the Bengals D, the Bills will be able to run it well, probably with those pulls and outside zone runs. I expect a lot of empty-set spreads from both teams too, and both QBs taking chances downfield. Will come down to who makes more plays.

Haha. I just can’t call it “Kroger.” Same with “Aldi”— I always have to add an S. I don’t care what the proper name is; it just feels wrong without an S.

I agree with this. My post was in response to the OP suggesting having a free agent as the WR1a. To me, that is not financially possible. Your WR1a has to be on a rookie contract to make it work.

it is really tough to know the mindset of an eliminated team, for sure. by the way, in your unlikely scenario, I am not writing off the broncos. They will need some good luck and Wilson to show up, but sometimes these teams play really hard for their interim coaches.

Block Forever - Podcast Worth Checking Out
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to DD4Bills's topic in Off the Wall
I feel like I hear this being advertised daily. Will have to check it out. Thanks! -
Good point about rooting for the Dolphins this week. If they are out, the Patriots will totally fold in that last game.

Josh McDaniels doesn’t rule out benching Derek Carr
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t count Saban because he was never able to have success at the NFL level. He is a great college recruiter; but he never proved himself to be a good coach in the NFL. I think the reality is that the Patriot Way cannot be replicated. -

Amazing how only McDaniels can take a QB that just threw for 4800 yards last year and run him into the ground. The Patriot Way. Good luck with Stidman! -
I don’t care what Boyd says, he will always be a Buffalo hero for the Dalton/Boyd TD to break the playoff drought.

It is actually financially impossible to do this in today’s NFL. If you look at the teams with an elite QB and two #1 WR’s, two of the three players in that trio are on rookie deals (cincy, Miami, Philly). The Chiefs realized this and that’s why they jettisoned Hill and kept Kelce as their number 1. I think the chiefs model is the right one— pay your franchise QB and number 1, and then fill in the rest with complimentary high-pick rookies and modest short-term free agents. If you don’t do that, you won’t have enough money to field a good line or good defense.

Tyler Bass is the Bills' best pick of the 2020 draft
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed; getting a serviceable starting CB in the 7th round is highway robbery. -

Welp, McDaniels will be joining Patricia and Judge soon enough back home. I can’t believe how these former pats assistants all have failed spectacularly. I don’t think Bellichick has a single successful assistant from his coaching tree (I don’t count Vrabel, who never coached under him). -
They literally just had the exact same type of coach in Fangio— who did an excellent job. They had no QB, and that did him in. But i would argue that had they kept Fangio and given him even a serviceable QB (like a Mayfield or Trubisky), that was a playoff team. Instead, he got Drew Lock for three years!

I hope so. But I think they will need some good live reps (not zoom reps) this week. Just hope the weather cooperates here.

Are these guys even practicing this week? Sounds like no one can move in Buffalo still.

Was just thinking back to the Bengals/Bills games in the past 20 years— those were absolute dog games. Times sure have changed!
