  1. As ESPN says...Pending a Physical And Sage Rosenfels thought he might have the starting job...ha!
  2. Did someone from WGR say that they didn't think Rhodes would make the team? I hate hearing things second hand and not being able to verify it. Between Fitzpatrick and Rhodes, some people sure like to jump on a bandwagon to get rid of these guys.
  3. It's a shame that he chooses to be a sore loser. Jack Nicklaus was always happy for the other player when they beat Nicklaus and Jack was willing to talk about the 2nd place finish. Tiger is probably going to shatter just about every record , so I applaud him for that. I agree he has been and continues to be a dick when he loses Personally, I was glad to see a golfer finally step up and not wilt under the pressure to finally break Tiger's seemingly being invincible when leading. Yang played great and made Tiger make the mistakes.
  4. He partied too much, obviously. I don't think he could have worked much harder though. If he didn't know the playbook, I think it was just from not being that smart, not from lack of effort. Arthur Blank would not have given Vick the richest contract in the NFL if he had the reputation as not putting in time to learn the playbook and having a good work ethic. Nothing but an excuse for his shortcomings as a QB with the Falcons. The thing that I was disappointed in was him not renouncing the culture of dogfighting. I give him credit, he did admit not being a leader and shutting the operation down, but he was just trying to cover himself and lied to everyone before he was convicted. If he truly wanted to take a step forward in this interview, he would have renounced the culture that encourages dog fighting. I'd want to hear what he says in his talks to kids about dogfighting, then I could say that he is doing something good. I was encouraged that he realizes his actions will speak louder than his words.
  5. Stock Up: Lee Evans - nice to see Edwards get him the ball. Question is, can Evans and T.O. both get enough balls thrown to them? Leodis McKelvin - step for step with Hester to pick off Cutler Nic Harris - I think we found Ellison's replacement Stock Down: Ko Simpson - down and out Gibran Hamdan - Fitzpatrick got some separation. No doubt who's #2. I'm confident in Fitzpatrick. Tiger Woods - I can't believe he lost after leading by 4 after two rounds...he'll be back though
  6. Since making fun of the right is so easy to do as of late (thanks W), and they provide so much material, I applaud Colbert and Stewart for making a living doing it. Anyone who speaks out against "the right" is labeled a liberal. I am a Republican, but I could recognize that George W Bush was pushing an aganda in Iraq, hiding behind a guise of the existence of WMDs. Does that make me instead, a liberal? No, it just makes me an open-minded conservative. Wait, is that an oxymoron?
  7. Maybe she had the finest sharpened scissors in town???
  8. The #9 pick has signed a five-year, $28.5 million deal with $18M guaranteed The #12 pick has signed a five-year, $23 million deal with $13M guaranteed Kind of sets the bar on both ends now. I wish they'd let us know what offer is out on the table for Maybin. Is there even an offer?
  9. I saw a bleacher report headline about Vick and the Eagles, but the article has been deleted. Was it a false report? Mortenson mentioned the Cowboys too.
  10. We can get a team together to piece together a timeline of Vick's alleged movements. Anyone have a rumored sighting of him eating last night? Maybe a dog fight somewhere? I heard what I heard, but I'll wait until it's posted somewhere in the media before I believe it. If they're good seats, I'm all over them!
  11. More fuel to substantiate this...it came from a friend of a friend (blah, blah), but they said around 6:30 last night, Vick rented a car from National at the Buffalo Airport. I'd be really surprised if the Vick entourage could avoid all media and sneak into town undetected, but honestly, when you hear it from multiple sources (and I purposely didn't post this last night until I saw someone else post about the rumor of him being in town), you have to wonder if there is some credibility to these rumors. Again, it's what I heard, so now I'm just sayin'. Maybe it's just a conspiracy set up by an Airport Security guy, a car rental agent, and a hotel clerk.
  12. Evans was always more of a Losman guy anyway, if you remember, so I can see taking it that way. I do agree that Edawrds has much to prove. He has all the weapons now. It is on him. Evans never answered the question. Analyze that.
  13. To mow the patch of grass that people use to hit golf balls overboard.
  14. I think what you're banking on is that we'd be getting the Mike Vick that took the Falcons to the playoffs. He is two years removed from the NFL and has gone though hell. I am not disputing Vick's effect on a running game, and I'm sure any team that looks at Vick will be looking at him to run a wildcat type formation. I wouldn't doubt that if Vick could regain his sense of the field, he could easily open up defenses much more than a Ronnie brown or Darren McFadden. He is NOT a decent passer though, because of the reasons I stated in my earlier post. I think Ryan and Roddy White's rapport is pretty solid, so Gonzalez will be more than likely an option. I'm sure he'll be an asset in helping White by drawing attention away from him. You don't invest $50M over 6 years in a guy that you don't think will be your main go to receiver. As far as comparing Vick's winning to Ryan's, c'mon. One season. Ryan was 11-5, so he already surpassed Vick's first season as a starter. He was also rookie of the year, which Vick didn't do. Do us both a favor and don't go to the winning comparison until we're a few years down the road.
  15. I don't think anyone said Roddy White was a premier receiver with Vick. The fact is Vick often looked for Crumpler only, so the WRs were afterthoughts in the offense. He has no touch when throwing the ball. The fact that Matt Ryan AND Joey Harrington/Chris Redman were all able to get Roddy White the ball just shows how bad Vick is. He zeros in on one receiver (Crumpler at the time) and does not know how to check down. He drills the ball in when he doesn't have to, resulting in many dropped balls. Ryan is a successful QB working with pretty much the same receivers that Vick had his final year with the Falcons and he is getting the job done passing. Vick is nothing to Falcon fans. They have Matt Ryan, who they are happy with and he is WAY less likely to do anything stupid like pitbull fighting, smoking weed or flipping off fans. Fans are doing just fine with a team that just went 11-5 and they have forgotten about Vick and his "tremendous success" as you infer.
  16. Maybe it's just the long blond hair, but she kind of reminds me of Ann Coulter, and that's enough to turn me off.
  17. Until we hear what numbers are being offered, we really can't comment on either side being unreasonable or at fault. Hopefully, they can come to terms without Crabtree's contract getting done. They have a ballpark figure with Moreno's contract, IMO. It is frustrating though that rookies hold out, and are basically a waste for the first part of the regular season.
  18. I'm really not sure why you say he was a good passer. He had a 53.8 completion percentage and a 75.7 passer rating. He had the same Roddy White that Matt Ryan has turned into an All-Pro $50M man, and did NOTHING with him. I also live here in Georgia, and watched many of his games where he had no touch on his passes or couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. He's undeniable when it comes to his running ability, and that is the only thing that made him dangerous. He has a strong, inaccurate arm. He led the Falcons to two out of four winning seasons. He has been out of the NFL for the past two years. I wouldn't expect too much from this guy, and if his agent (same as Maybin I think) wants big bucks, forget him.
  19. A little more info on the Eagles wanting Runyan back... Link to Full Article Quote from the article:
  20. Seems like the Bills are selling their soul, if these rumors are true. I have to agree with you also about the possibility. On the brightside, the PETA folks will be filling up hotel rooms in Buffalo if the signing happens. Buffalo will be a media circus, if it wasn't already with T.O.
