Should the Bills ever have another guy named Norwood on their roster? Seriously, the guy looked like a monster last night.

To give Snead a little break, Mississippi's offensive line was pathetic. Eric Norwood was all over Snead most of the night and Snead never had the chance to get in a rhythm. Give the SC defense credit, they dominated. Snead will get all kinds of hype from ESPN's braintrust as the 2010 draft approaches, but I would not draft him any earlier than the 3rd or 4th round.

Next weeks game should be interesting...

I think I'd be betting the over on this one. Both defenses are in the bottom third of the league. New Orleans is a monster this year. Only bad weather will slow down Brees. -
INT-- TRENT or LEE
buffaloaggie replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably the same people that were calling for Fitzpatrick to start during the preseason. Just depends on which way the wind blows as to whether fans are happy with Edwards. Without a doubt, it was a bad throw by Edwards. Can't really believe anyone is even debating this. Otherwise, Edwards was pretty damn good today. -
We all know what the kids did was stupid. We all know what Leodis did on the football field was stupid. They both need to learn a lesson. The legal system will take care of the kids (though I hope it's nothing more than a fine and community service) and McKelvin will learn from the coaches when not to fight for extra yards. Looking forward to the Bills whipping the Bucs!

Ellison in the middle, Nic Harris at OLB

He never saw the ball. Perfect position doesn't matter if you don't locate the ball. I agree the throw was perfectly placed, but Ellison needs to turn his head or stick his hand up where the receivers hands are. -
He got beaten on the exact same route twice by Ben Watson. I think the second pass was thrown over the opposite shoulder then the first one. A good placement by Brady to beat the coverage. I don't think Ellison ever turned his head on either TD.

Leodis McKelvin's property vandalized
buffaloaggie replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've read his stuff in the past. He had an axe to grind with A.J. Smith of the Chargers during the LT contract dispute. Let his personal bias get in the way of objective reporting in that case. Not a big fan of his. -
Not that I care, but...ESPN Power Rankings
buffaloaggie replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel we're better than 21 for sure. Just take care of business and if we're in the final 6 of the AFC by the end of the season, I'll be happy. Anything less than that and Jauron will be fired, and I'll be happy We do have much to prove. A win over Tampa bay will be a good start. Moral victories still amount to being 0-1. -
Leodis McKelvin's property vandalized

It is the principle here that matters. You're going ot someone's house and doing this. Violating someone's privacy. I lived in Irving, TX in an apartment complex that Emmitt Smith's girlfriend lived in and he was over there frequently. Emmitt had a bad game that week, I think a couple of fumbles and the Cowboys lost. The next day, his car was egged. (Not by me!) Two weeks later, the girlfriend had moved out. I don't know if McKelvin is renting or owning, but having your privacy violated sucks. I bet he wishes he could move now. Who knows what the next stupid Bills fan will do if he screws up again. -
Absolutely. The Bills we saw against the Pats were not the same team that we saw in the preseason. I was not impressed with anyone's performance in the preseason but the Bills really stepped it up many notches. Now, Jauron can redeem himself by picking this team up after a tough loss and continue to build on a pretty good performance, save 72 seconds. My apologies for beating up on Aaron Schobel in the preseason. He was the star of the game, along with Fred Jackson. The O-Line too, minus Bell's gaffes. Promoting AVP was a great first step to improving the Bills performance.

How old were you when you started "slowing down"?
buffaloaggie replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I made it to 37 until a shoulder injury ended my competitive days in sports. I still workout and do spin classes at 45. It's not age, it's just about taking care of yourself. I noticed my wind going in my mid-thirties. Made playing pickup basketball a little tougher. As far as partying goes, just do it in moderation. No woman likes a slurring drunk trying to hit on her. You'll be thankful the next morning whether you pick her up or not. Hangovers get old. -
Crabtree to re-enter draft
buffaloaggie replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad we didn't have the chance to pick him. Would love to say if he had been there, we would have passed, but... He's losing a lot of money if he re-enters the draft next year. Maybe he just doesn't want to play in SF? Looks like the Niners may have righted the ship, so I don't get why he wouldn't want to play out there. -

He looks lost out there. Packers D looks pretty tough. -

Pisa Injury - short news article -
I would love to have Runyan in Buffalo. While both have injury issues, Jones just seems to be the biggest risk. If any team signs Runyan, they'll wait until after week 1. If they sign him before, they'll be on the hook for his whole base salary.

Bell should holdout for more money
buffaloaggie replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really can't believe you're trying to justify this argument. Bell has not proven anything. The best analogy is the one post about filling in for the store manager. I know when I got promoted to a Supervisor position years ago, there was no raise involved. It was an interim title until I could prove myself. That is what Bell needs to do. The analogy that you suggest is that every starter in the NFL should hold out until they get paid the average salary despite being an unproven commodity. I can agree somewhat with your point above. Ralph Wilson has kept the Bills ticket prices among the lowest in the NFL, so the fans in WNY can afford tickets. Personally, I would rather see any revenue generated from tickets go to funding for the Bills organization and not ticket scalpers livelihood. I would say that Bills face value ticket prices are undervalued. With higher prices, they'd possibly have the money to retain a talented front office like they had in the late 80's and into a bit of the 90's. This is a whole different matter. Unfortunately, it's Ralph Wilson's right to do whatever he wants with the team. I think it sucks that he won't sell the team until he passes. I think it sucks that he will not do anything to guarantee that the Bills stay in WNY after his passing. He has not budgeted anything to construct a good front office and coaching staff. He is thinking bringing in bodies rather than talent will build a winning team. For ten years, we have seen where that thinking gets you. -
Let's just hope that Trent can throw the ball effectively 25 yards or more downfield under AVP.

Nope. The last guy to lead in receiving TDs was also a Wide Receiver, Bobby Shaw with a whopping total of 4. Bledsoe had 11 Passing TDs in 2003.
-
What is sad is despite the consistent decline, Evans has led the Bills in receiving TDs in each of those five seasons. Doesn't say much for the Bills ability or willingness to pass into the end zone. Trivia Question (I'd actually be surprised if someone knew it off the top of their head): Name the last player to lead the Bills in receiving TDs besides Lee Evans in a season? Hint: it ain't Moulds
