Texas is still one of the highest paid institutions if not the highest. All games will still be closer to home. How are the fans getting hosed? I was hoping A&M would join the SEC rather than the Pac 10 if the Big 12 dissolved simply because of the travel distance and the possiblility of having 10PM games in the Pac 10.

Texas willing to commit to 10 team Big-12

This new development may make all of our speculation a moot point... Big 12 may go with 10 teams More money via the new Texas network. Why not get TCU and Houston back in the fold? -
Texas willing to commit to 10 team Big-12

A&M has the Gene Stallings tie to the SEC, so it will make him happy, but my Aggies will be in for some lean times as they go up against the SEC. Three straight bowl losses, the last two being blowouts of 20 or more. Still, I think it will differentiate them enough from Texas for recruiting purposes to give them a better shot at top Texas HS recruits. Just ask, where would you rather play, the SEC or the Pac 10? We need something to make up for whatever Mack Brown tells them. Texas did have a sweet deal in the Big 12, as they pretty much called the shots, and got the biggest share of the pot. Not sure what the Pac-10 breakdown of revenue will be. The SEC just wants a foothold in Texas' major TV markets, so A&M will be good enough to get the #5 and #10 TV markets included in the SEC fold. Clemson and Georgia Tech would make the most sense to go after to balance out the East division. -
U.S. Discovers Stunning Mineral Reserves in Afghanistan

Excellent! We will cut our dependence on the Middle East and its' oil, and focus on the mineral reserves in Afghanistan, where it is much more stable -
Thoughts on this idiocy: Hallmark missed a golden opportunity for free advertising by pulling this card, rather than fighting this by keeping the card in circulation. Rappers, you keep on degrading. It's OK, because it means colored people are advancing. Hallmark is probably run by whites, so even perceived racism must be stopped at all costs. The NAACP has given even more fuel to the already sick of the "race card" being played sentiment. This is one of the more ignorant fights in recent history. So what is next, all references to the color black will be stricken due to any possible negative connotations? Color should be stricken completely when referring to ethnicity, since there are no worse cases of racism than this card being taken WAY out of context. This must finally prove that racism no longer exists in the US. Hurray for mankind! Advancement has taken many steps backward thanks to this action. D.C. Tom, great post!

Top NFL snakebit franchises - #10 our Bills
buffaloaggie replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills do it little by little...trade their #9 overall and a 4th for Rob Johnson, trade up for J.P. Losman giving away their 2 and 5 in 2004 and the #1 in 2005, a 2nd and a 3rd for McCargo. That's pretty much a whole draft there, and what do the Bills have to show for it? I'd say they may have reached that depth with these three draft moves. -
The line play can only go up, right? Anticipating vast improvement may be reaching. Yes, they are raw, so experience will help. I just don't know if the talent is there. From what I saw from Bell last year, he is a backup at best. Wang needs to step in and make the Left OT job his. His pedigree is similar to Peters in that he was a Tight End converted to Tackle. He obviously has some athleticism. This is all part of Buddy's master plan, finding a diamond in the rough. Let's just hope he didn't find cubic zirconium in this draft.

Supreme Court ruling against the NFL I'm thinking teams will celebrate the individual marketing deals. Jerry Jones' dream has come true.

Jeff Feagles punted until he retired at 44. Moorman has at least a half dozen more good years. Don't forget, Moorman threw a TD pass out of a fake also. He's more than just a threat to run. He's signed through 2012. I just hope the Bills don't wear him out next year.

TOP 10 teams to NOT win a Super Bowl
buffaloaggie replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kinda surprised they were only #6. Why couldn't have Mark Ingram been in jail during that Super Bowl? -
He was put in a no-win situation when the Bills made him an eighth pick. This was a dumb move on Marv's part, and Whitner has never been able to live up to expectations of a #8 overall. OK, he's not a bad player. Still, the dude seems bi-polar with his I'm quitting twitter, NO "I'm not gonna run from twitter...I'm here to stay" routine. Donte, sometimes you just need to stop craving attention.

This is the problem when you give a player with a questionable heart big money, and it speaks volumes of the need for a rookie salary cap. In his calling out of Haynesworth, it takes one to know one. Oh, and I'm not bitter about our wasted 4th overall.
-
Umm, I can.

What does being a fifth round pick have to do with anything? Jason Peters was undrafted. Players do develop after college. The problem here is playing only 11 of 16 games and having to see a foot specialist. Does not bode well for a big trade right now unless the Bills want to incur a huge injury risk.

Bills - Ravens agree on deal for Gaither?

Adam_Schefter RT @rmsmylie: Some blogs reporting Gaither to the Bills for a 2nd is done pending a contract extension. Can you confirm? ... Not true. -
Buffalo "only" the 14th fattest city in America
buffaloaggie replied to tomdayfan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
So, does this mean Buffalo Wings aren't as fattening as first thought? Tex-Mex cuisine on the other hand resposible for 5 of the top 9 fat laden cities. Honestly, I think this is a stupid survey. I say this because Dallas is #4, Arlington, TX is #54 and Ft. Worth is #66 and they are all pretty much the same area. -

Those that have a total lack of integrity will exercise power for their own special interests, whether it involves race, friendship, business association, religion etc...they can justify anything in their minds. Sounds like many a politician.
