Buffalo rumblings studs and duds
buffaloaggie replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is a "smaller" DT/NT. He'll get worn out by the potential double team blocks or a bigger and better OL than what he's facing in Bills' training camp. For now, he's good in a rotation of NTs. -
Aaron Schobel looking for housing
buffaloaggie replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Texas' unemployment rate is higher than all but about 10-15 states. Congrats to Texas in that they gained the most jobs over the past month of June (14,000) than any other state. Six Flags over Texas must have been hiring for the summer. Schoebel wants his paycheck, but I'll be curious to see how much his heart is still into it. -
Possibly headed for a short career This past Thursday Last summer

The recipe for a left OT seems to include gifted athletic ability. Wang was a former TE as was Peters and his parents were both Olympians. Bell's daddy was Karl Malone. Seems we have some of the ingredients in those two.

The Ultimate Buffalo Road Trip
buffaloaggie replied to mikedeering's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're talking about that weekend too. Sabres vs. Panthers is the 17th, but it's on Friday. I don't see why the NHL doesn't try to arrange more weekends in cities where fans will already be traveling for the NFL game. Can't give you any insight on the venues though. -
Trent Edwards - Your Expectations For 2010
buffaloaggie replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Concussions linger and every hit adds up. One Game??? The Arizona hit opened the door for the other hits to add up. His performance has been noticeably worse, and it's easy to figure out when the damage began. -
Trent Edwards - Your Expectations For 2010
buffaloaggie replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edwards has not been right ever since getting concussed on a blitz by Adrian Wilson at Arizona. That hit seemed to take ten years off of his career. His reaction time has gone from average to terrible. I'm not sure if he'll ever come back to where his potential was. His career high game is 289 yards. The only thing that can save his career is the checkdown to Spiller. The way to stop Edwards is to pack 11 defenders within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage, since he refuses to go deep. I joke about the 11 defenders, but am I really joking? -
Nothing out of the ordinary...Like staying in coverage lanes.

Who needs credibility when you've got hope?
buffaloaggie replied to Rob's House's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Not that I'm an Obama fan (I'm not), but we're using a CNS News website as a credible source? No slant at all there. Obama is just another politician with his own agenda, what a surprise! Kind of figured that one out on his election night when they started running the ads talking about healthcare as the biggest problem, meanwhile, everyone's jobs continued to be shipped overseas and our tax base continued to shrink. -
Bingo! He didn't even sound interested. The book mentions, and I paraphrase, "Oh, by the way, Buffalo expressed interest, but that Packers job, wow!"

So it doesn't just stop at making you go blind anymore?

Saw the Bonham reference. Totally missed it. Andrew Wood

Am I the first one to mention John Bonham?

The Pirates problem has to do with their ownership. Small markets can compete. Tampa Bay has built the team that the Pirates could have had if their F.O. had a clue. Lump St. Louis in with the small market teams too. Somehow they continue to compete. Anyone can win in baseball. It doesn't always take free spending. Yes, it's a disadvantage, but it takes a little know how. Don't blame non-competition on Steinbrenner. If you know how to run a business and have a passion for your team, the sky is the limit.

Not to defend Buffalo's owners, but the Boss had a huge advantage with his team being in NYC and having a greater opportunity to generate revenue. Still, he knew what it took to win, was very demanding, set high expectations and never cut corners. He could never be called stingy when it came to financing his teams, whether it involved player or front office salaries. Spend money to make money. I agree, best owner in sports. We can only hope his sons will continue his legacy. RIP.

Jesse Jackson strikes again (link provided)
buffaloaggie replied to major's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Jesse's on a roll. Duke Lacrosse and then this? Did he speak up along with the NAACP about the Hallmark card that mentioned black ho(le)s? I do feel bad that he really doesn't get much press anymore. -
Jim Kelly hopes Trent Edwards is the starter
buffaloaggie replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This year: Checkdown means the ball is in C.J. Spiller's hands. Maybe Trent is the right guy. -
fixed T.O., I believe, has been humbled, in as much as he can be humbled. He didn't act up last year, and knows he won't get anything more than a one year deal from another NFL team. That's the only way they'll be sure that he behaves. And honestly, nobody running the offense last year knew what they were doing, coupled with the fact that almost everyone on the OL was inexperienced and/or hurt, would tend to lead to poorer numbers (not to mention our QB crises). To point to T.O. and say we were worse with him than without him, ignoring the many other variables, is a pretty lame argument.

OK, she could use a makeover

A New Story About What Happened........
buffaloaggie replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say he's earned the rep as a thug/dumba$$ over a long period of time. 1) Gave a chick herpes and introduced his alter ego, Ron Mexico 2) Flips off crowd in Atlanta after getting pounded by the Saints 3) Stashes weed in a water bottle going through airport security 4) Runs a dog fighting kennel for years 5) Lies about said dog fighting ring to the NFL commissioner 6) Allegedly, Vick's entourage shoots one of his dog fighting co-defendants No quick judgment needed. -

wr Chris Henry - evidence of prior brain damage
buffaloaggie replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the least, this report can help explain his erratic behavior throughout his life. Who knows what the cause was. It could be more than just blows to the head. Many factors can contribute to encepahlopathy. -
I don't think anyone thinks Vick did the shooting. Vick put himself in a position to land in trouble, and he has more than likely landed there, as you said. Totally agree there. Past actions tell us that Vick has no common sense, so that is why the party commenced.
