Timing is everything. The slug unis did suck, but since the Sabres were winning, the timing allowed people to accept the slug and buy the jerseys. Since then, losing and the ugliness of the slug caused marketing to go back to the original Sabres logo, and that move has generated even more revenue through merchandise sales. A good jersey will also generate renewed enthusiasm in the team. A #3 draft pick will also generate enthusiasm. This team, making moves mostly dictated by marketing, needs to stay in the news somehow in these slow news days, and keep guys like you busy by reporting on a new jersey for the team.

Matt Leinart should have been an NFL success. 64.8 completion perectage, 35 on the wonderlic, 30+ college starts. Where does this writer mention him in the article? I wish it was this simple to predict NFL success or failure. A different way to look at things, I like it, but saying Jonathan Stewart has been a disappointment is a stretch. He's a part time back averaging 900 yards a season, though he took a step back this past year, as did the Panthers. I would not call him a disappointment. He scored 10 TD's in each of his first two seasons. Just the fact that the Bills have taken three Running Backs in the first round in the past eight years should tell you how terrible the thought process has been at One Bills Drive. Our starting RB this year is an undrafted FA, and the best rookie RB this year was an undrafted FA. RB's can be found other places besides wasting a 1st rounder on one.

Mocks from McShay should be ignored. He lost what little credibility he had when his projected 1st rounder Andre Woodson fell to round 6 or 7. Then he had Jevon Snead highly rated last year. He went undrafted and is in Arena Football League now. He has no NFL insider connections.

Whitner probably will not sign for a reasonable rate. If he "settles" for a reasonable rate, he'll become a distraction because he'll be whining about being underpaid. He definitely has motivation to play in Cleveland now with Jauron as DC. While I'd like to see Whitner still with the Bills, you're right in not overpaying, or paying what Whitner thinks he's worth. Personally, I don't see Whitner back.

Bryant McKinnie was considered by everyone except the Bills as the top tackle pick. McKinnie was a two-time All-American and the Outland Trophy winner vs. Williams, a one-time All American. I was scratching my head at the Williams pick instead of McKinnie. I, like every Bills fan, was hoping our front office would prove us wrong. They did not. McKinnie anchors arguably what had been the best line in the NFL for years. He has been a starter for ten years. How many starting left tackles have the Bills had in that time?

I'm sure Wannstedt's price needed a bigger title than linebackers coach. I also would think that since Edwards is raw, an experienced coach will come in and help him game plan to see how it's done. We recognize that Edwards is in over his head, so now he has help. I don't think Wannstedt will be a linebackers coach long. If Edwards fails, Wannstedt steps in. Otherwise, he will get an offer elsewhere. This is the first move in a long time that makes sense.

Looks like the person that made this video has an axe to grind with A&M players. Von Miller's highlight film is against Oklahoma, and he actually did make plays against Texas which are not shown here. He's still not someone I'd pick in the top 10.

Unfortunately, he trailed many plays and really was not much of a factor in the LSU game. LSU's QB Jefferson was not really under much pressure and had plenty of room to run because Miller had already blown by the pocket. He is not the answer to our pass rush problem and run stopper problem. We need a big man on the interior line that will occupy multiple blockers and free up others. Miller can easily be handled by a much bigger, much quicker OL in the NFL vs. the Big 12. He will be a late 1st round pick, but the Bills can't afford another undersized pass rusher. Miller will do well in the NFL as a complimentary player on a team with an established D Line.

Yup, we dismissed Peterson talking in the Von Miller potential thread. Jeff Fuller (#8) dominated him in the Cotton Bowl. We need someone who can stop the run and put pressure on the QB. Pray that Carolina and Denver do not pick Fairley, otherwise, Marcell Dareus should be the choice at #3.

Peterson is overrated from what I've seen of him. I don't get the hype. He's good, not great. He's a big CB, and I think that's what everyone's enamored with. A&M did not throw to Fuller as much as they should have in the Cotton Bowl. Peterson's reputation is way more than his play.

Miller is the only NFL talent graduating. They have underclassmen with potential. Jeff Fuller (son of the 49ers Jeff Fuller) is a great receiver, on par with A.J. Green and Julio Jones. He would be a steal if he declares. Uses his body very well to screen off defenders. Whenever A&M needed a 1st down, Fuller was their guy. He handled Patrick Peterson from LSU pretty well in the Cotton Bowl.

He doesn't have the size to be a DE and he is marginal for LB in the NFL. He had some stand out games this year, especially the Oklahoma game, but he does tend to disappear. There is no way I would touch Miller at the #3 pick, and this is coming from an A&M alum.

Actually, me too. Another mock that I looked at had him mid-2nd round. I think Casey Matthews opened a lot of eyes with his play last night, let alone, he'd draw attention because of his lineage. I'd never discount a LB's size if he is a playmaker. Look at Zach Thomas and London Fletcher as two examples.

You're talking cheap with what we'd have to trade, but he'd cost us 8.5 mil plus a 4+ mil roster bonus. Not very cheap. Definitely would have to wait until he was released.

Anytime the guy gets pressure on him, he makes a mistake. He did against Alabama, he did last night against Ohio State. He will get tons of pressure in the NFL, more so than he's seen at Arkansas. To use our 3rd pick on Mallett would be a huge mistake. This guy has Ryan Leaf written all over him, a head case who can't handle pressure. Pass.

If we don't get Luck, and a decent QB does not slip to the Bills in the 2nd round, I wouldn't mind targeting Kellen Moore in 2012.
