  1. People (overly-sensitive) can find offense in anything. What is "wrong" to you, may not be wrong to others. And I would respect the opinions of the majority of Native Americans over the majority of the overly sensitive "other" population. Nine percent. So they just probably happened to tap the least sensitive sample of the Native American population, and no poll is ever worth a damn. All a lower sample size does is increase the margin of error. Does this sample size account for a 40% error rate? 4% error rate (+/- 2% as they said)? Maybe they should ask the same poll sample whether they take pride in this team calling themselves the Redskins and see how that is answered. Sometimes, it is all in how you ask.
  2. 2004 poll: 9% of Native Americans were offended by the name. If over the past decade, 40 plus percent have become outraged, I'd change my mind. Otherwise, Hail to the Redskins! http://www.annenbergpublicpolicycenter.org/downloads/political_communication/naes/2004_03_redskins_09-24_pr.pdf

  4. Sounds similar to the cancer that Roger Ebert had. I hope they caught it early. George Karl also.
  5. Hughes was viewed as a huge bust in Indy, so maybe a change of scenery will prove to be helpful.
  6. Unfortunately, Moore needs a mentor to watch over him. His first couple of years at A&M were inconsistent. Kevin Sumlin made a huge difference in his work ethic, along with A&M's strength coach this year. Now that Moore is not working with the team, it sounds as though he's had a relapse back to being inconsistent.
  7. Kevin Minter would be a good alternative in the 2nd. What was his time?
  8. Just like Mike Sherman and Tannehill last year.
  9. I think we can now say it'll be Ryan Nassib. Hopefully in the 2nd round and not a ridiculous reach in the first.
  10. Chan Gailey was recommended by Bill Cowher. How'd that work out for the Bills?
  11. The two coaches before Robinson had winning records. I'll wait to see who he gets for his coordinators, but Lovie Smith has a positive reputation with NFL players, and could have attracted some free agents here.
  12. Turnaround? 8-5 in the Big East? Bouncing from 7th to 4th to 7th to tied for 1st. I'd like to see some consistent winning from a marginal college program, let alone a marginal football conference.
  13. Chan Gailey was a 68-41 college coach and an 18-14 NFL coach before the Bills hired him. Bills just hired a 25-25 college coach. I just don't know what to think.
  14. He has his own style and his players respond, but like all college coaches, I'm not sure how his style would translate to the NFL. He is a disciplinarian and keeps everything in house. A&M had an issue with a WR who disappeared after the Bama win without explanation. They found him safe, but the circumstances around the incident and his subsequent dropping out of A&M have been kept quiet. He also does not use a playbook http://www.chron.com/sports/aggies/article/No-playbook-required-for-Ags-in-Sumlin-s-4035193.php
  15. I've watched OU play also, and I agree with the deer in headlights comparison. I've been working in Oklahoma and talked to plenty of OU fans. Even they think Landry Jones sucks. I'd take their word over yours...sorry. Notre Dame was the only top defense Jones faced and look how he did. He'll put up big numbers in the Cotton Bowl because they'll be playing catch up all game.
  16. OK, here's the real SOS of the top 11 teams: 1) Kansas City 2-12 (.500) 2) Jacksonville 2-12 (.540) 3) Oakland 4-10 (.455) 4) Philadelphia 4-10 (.513) 5) Detroit 4-10 (.567) 6) San Diego 5-9 (.460) 7) Buffalo 5-9 (.491) 8) Cleveland 5-9 (.500) 9t) Tennessee 5-9 (.513) 9t) Carolina 5-9 (.513) 11) Arizona 5-9 (.558)
  17. Bills have a weak Strength of Schedule, an advantage in the draft. As of today, Bills draft #6, I believe.
  18. Does anyone see any QB that is worth a high pick in this draft? They have all pretty much underachieved. I really don't see any franchise type QBs with the exception of Geno Smith. Starting with the third round, start grabbing QBs left on the board, but the Bills still have glaring LB and WR issues, as well as QB.
  19. Buffalo Bills Record: 5-8 Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame The Bills could be in the market for a quarterback depending on how they feel about Ryan Fitzpatrick after this season, but there's no way Barkley has the arm to play in Buffalo in the winter. There is also no wide receiver worth taking this high to fill their need at that position. Te'o would give the team another young defensive leader up the middle with DTMarcell Dareus. He's a three-down linebacker who can handle the point of attack against the run and has shown plenty of ability in underneath coverage. I'd love to see this! Only one QB, Geno Smith, in the first round 8th to Arizona. 1) Star Lotuleilei, KC 2) DeMontre Moore, Jax 3)Bjoern Warner, Oak 4) Luke Joeckel, Philly 5) Jonathan Hankins, Car Mingo, Milliner, Smith, Lewan and Warmack round out the top ten.
  20. Drew Bledsoe was 6'5" and had a boatload of passes batted. It can have more to do with technique and pocket awareness more so than just basing batted passes on lack of height.
  21. My partial wish list for the 2013 draft: Te'o or Milliner in the 1st round Quinton Patton WR (La Tech) Collin Klein QB (Kansas State) All these guys are winners and just get the job done. We all know about Te'o, and Milliner has been a complete shutdown corner. I am doubting Geno Smith will be available when the Bills draft and I pray we don't take another bust USC QB, nor Landry Jones. By the way, if you have not seen Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M, get a good look. He is the second coming of Doug Flutie and only a Freshman.
  22. I was at the game, and the Niner fans were rude, more so than any other stadium I've been to. I expect a few here and there, but it was just constant, and I ran into a few Bills fans walking out, and they said the same thing. We got blown out in Chicago a few years back and those fans were cool. Niner fans were in your face and kind of jerks. I guess it rubs off in from living in the Bay area since Raider fans also have a bad rep. Even the short fat security guy was yapping at Bills fans after the game. Also, Candlestick is a horrible venue, and they definitely need the new stadium in Santa Clara. Getting in and out of parking was a disaster.
  23. Anyone want to blame it on his ribs? Fitz is pathetic.
  24. Looks like the Bills bandwagon may get crowded this summer Rest of the list: 2. Nate Solder, LT, New England Patriots 3. Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns 4. Jeremy Kerley, WR, New York Jets 5. Pat Angerer, ILB, Indianapolis Colts 6. Marcedes Lewis, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars 7. Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Oakland Raiders 8. Brooks Reed, OLB, Houston Texans 9. Kendrick Lewis, S, Kansas City Chiefs 10. Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos ESPN Insider access needed to read article
  25. They have their built in margin. If more people bet the over, which is what Vegas is anticipating, then they could stand to lose money. Say 1000 people bet $140 on the Bills over...Vegas pays 100,000 out of their pocket plus the original bet, if the Bills win 7 or more Say only 500 people bet $100 on the Bills under...Vegas takes in 50,000 If the Bills win 6 or under in the above scenario, Vegas collects $140,000 and pays out $50,000, so it depends on how many bet each side before saying what Vegas is rooting for. Vegas is hoping the even money bet would tempt the gambler and the 140 to win 100 would scare the average gambler. They will adjust the over/under based on the betting action, so get your bets in now to capitalize on the 6 1/2 number, because I'd see this line going up to 7 1/2 or higher. Plus, I would think Vegas would collect interest on the money they are holding while the bet is active for four plus months.
