  1. One of the worst teams in the league got rid their best player, and he is 24 years old! it is like some on this board are plying a video game! Reality will prove you very wrong--I almost guarantee it. And it won't be years down the road, but weeks. I wonder what you will say after a few weeks of Lynch playing for the Seahwaks...
  2. When they got rid of Collins for Rob Johnson and gave two high picks, I was furious-Collins was going to be the quarterback to replace Kellly effectively. 13 years of many wasted high draft picks and mega money flushed away on one hack after another, I stand by that as the most detrimental move by the Bills in my lifetime. This is the second worst move. Trading a 24 year old stud of a running back for a first round pick would have been crazy, but to trade him for a fourth round pick makes this team's front office look remarkably similar to the incompetent yahoos here who turned the Bills into the joke of the NFL, before Polian arrived and cleaned house. (I remember one Polian insider saying that the scouting department was so bad when they arrived that they did not even hav a a file system for players.) This is the same team now, inept, incompetent, irrational, and squandering opportunities to become legitimate. They traded the best player on this team, one who will be a star in this league for years and years, for a fourth round pick. I have been extremely optimistic, almost always, when it came to the Bills 'turning the corner'. Now, I am completely disgusted by the Bills and have no faith. Any team making this bad of a move has almost no chance to become even competitive. Can you say 2-14? If they are lucky. Go Seahawks.
  3. In Syracuse it is 50 and sunny, a great day for football. I just realized,I really want to be in Buffalo today to watch this team take a step toward legitimacy. The Ralph will be going nuts today as Lynch turns it up again. If you are going, go nuts too--be loud and stand up! This young team will feed off that, get some turnovers and play up to their potential. A perfect day for a victory.
  4. I don't see a prediction thread.. The Bills offense is coming alive, showed signs in Green Bay and then last week they showed us what they can do. Why not Fitzpatrick? He looked like a more mature, accurate quarterback, making quick, excellent decisions for most of the game. And for those still calling for a trade of Lynch--he is the best player on this team, and will continue to find his holes, break tackles, and not go down easily as he runs through the Jets. The Bills would be a joke to entertain taking even a first round pick for their best player, and one just getting started. The Bills 30-13. Yeah, the injuries to Stroud and Edwards are a big concern, but if they can overcome that today, the Bills should get on track in a big way. Go Bills!
  5. My uncle in Georgia is too lazy to drive to a sports bar to watch the game. While this means he likely does not deserve to watch the game today, I don't want him to miss it, miss the Bills running game continue to come alive and run defense continue to improve, as the Bills demolish the patsies (30-17). So, if you know of a possible link for the game, please let me know! (I don't see another post with links.)
  6. BOOOO! Ultra negative post. Bills 20-17, as the offense comes to life, the run and the pass, and the Bills defense gets some turnovers. In any case, the Bills will be an improving team and a good one as they progress through the year.
  7. I hope that the Bills' current offensive line comes together. (If it does, this will be a good team this year.) And I lamented the loss of Peters, especially when there was no one to replace him. But this and other comments we have heard really make me reconsider my consternation with the Bills for getting rid of Peters. I can definitely see why Wilson and the Bills' front office did not dare give this guy a huge amount of money, no matter how much talent he may have.
  8. Yeah, it was probably that same exact reasoning that prevented Joe Gibbs, and then, Jim Zorn, from playing Collins rather than Campbell. In Zorn's case he saw with his own eyes what he had with Collins when Campbell went out (and saw what he had with Campbell) and still made Campbell the starter the next year. In my view, Campbell had never shown himself to be a starting caliber quarterback whereas Collins led the Redskins to their first real success in years. If Cutler doesn't perform, I say Lovie Smith goes with Collins. Had he stayed, Collins would have led the Bills to much more success than they experienced. He has the accuracy, leadership, toughness, and intelligence that NFl quarterbacks need, and he has proven himself in virtually every opportunity he has had since he was run out of Buffalo.
  9. Collins had another typical preseason for him--high percentage of passes completed, 9.0 yards per attempt, few mistakes, and passer rating over 100. His stats were similar in the four regular season games he played in Washington in 2007, leading them to the playoffs. With such an erratic and immature quarterback in Cutler, I think Lovie Smith finally gives Todd Collins the opportunity he deserves. If so, the Bears can make the playoffs.
  10. Do any predict that they will finish 2nd or 1st in AFC East? Make the playoffs? If so, please give me the links or the names. Less than one week until some squishing!
  11. HUH?? The question was, "how many plan on booing Edwards?" Then, the question in the actual 'post' was about the coaches--how is that the "same thing"?? Coaches booing Edwards is what you seem to mean in this post. Huh? As you said, at the outset of this, "Stupid is as..."
  12. What a stupid topic heading--and totally unrelated to the post! Why would anyone boo our starting quarterback this time of the year? We are not Philadelphia fans, although some on this board make them like grateful, rational fans. Why would anyone go to a game with the intent of booing their own starting qb? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  13. Thanks--looks like I will have to watch it on the Internet somewhere.
  14. I have no idea and cannot find any information on this. Also, is there any one place to go online, every week, to determine if the Bills are on tv? Maybe not as relevant during the regular season, but even then it is difficult to determine sometimes. I am in Syracuse. Thanks.
  15. Great; I was listening in minutes. Thanks!
  16. I thought I'd be able to find it easily, but all the links I hit on the Westwood One site have different shows on. Any radio streaming it live will do. Thanks.
  17. Getting rid of Collins was the worst mistake the Bills have made since I have been a fan in the late 70's. It set in motion over a decade of poor quarterback play and lots of wasted picks and money, such as the impetus for the move, the Rob Johnson signing. Then, the Redkins made the same mistake, letting Campbell start for years when the superior talent was on the bench. (The only real success they had recently was when Collins replaced Campell.) Maybe this year he gets a chance again. Cutler needs to develop the skills that Collins has--accuracy, playing within himself, solid preparation, and calmness under pressure.
  18. Thanks for news. Collins is the kind of mentor Jay Cutler needs, and it looks like he is there for the year with a guaranteed contract. Go Todd!
  19. I didn't look very hard, but see no indication of this for Friday's game. I do see that the Bills/Skins game is on 13 in Rochester, but can't find it in Syracuse. On regular tv in Syracuse too??? Also, let me know if there is one place to go to find this info consistently. Thanks!
  20. Thanks. This is one of the better reports about camp that I have read this year. Trent is the man, will have a good year.
  21. This yahoo's got to be kidding, right!? Ridiculous--the thread asked who we wanted to see cut, not because of who we just didn't like, but who we thought was not good for the football team. A joke, right? Sounds like a walking cliche, throwing out every worn out phrase out there to show how compassionate he is. BS if it is real, and he has really run "acropper"! It also "saddens me about the human condition". And make no mistake--there is definitely "vitriol behind the sentiment expressed" in my post. Yuk!
  22. QUOTE (Hplarrm @ Aug 7 2010, 02:16 AM) The approach is a bit odd to me in that while I think there are players who I believe will get cut it is the rare player that I actually wish he gets cut. However, some fans get enjoyment out of seeing others suffer so I guess whatever floats one's boat. Some of the most msiguided crticism of a post I have ever read on this board. He and the others are not rooting against the Bills by naming the players they think are weakest on the Bills, hence, the ones he wants cut. What self-rightheous nonsense by the two posters criticizing this as rooting against Bills players. (See the bold above for the most outrageous example of this.)
  23. Thanks. This great 2007 Sports Illustrated article states clearly that Walsh wanted Plummer and also has excellent analysis of Jamrcus Russel that, if accepted by the Raiders, could have saved them millions of dollars and avery high draft pick: "Beware of the big arm Russell's cannon doesn't guarantee he'll be great QB" It was written April 7. It makes you realize how ridiculous some aspects of those pro days are, that the feats quarterbacks are asked to perform are almost comical, such as "'the butt throw' -- a pass delivered while sitting at the opponent's 40-yard-line...through the uprights of the goalpost." Silver pulls no punches in the article, which is pretty rare today. He compares Russel to Druckenmeyer, someone who wowed them at the pro day with a huge arm. He makes this comparison to scouts and they discount it. Funny how this writer was able to see something that most of the NFL scouts could not.
  24. Jeff George?? This is a joke, just to get a reaction, right? He will be 43 this season, never looked very good when he was younger, hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL in almost a decade, and was one of the worst leaders I have ever seen in this league. Pretty funny, actually, as no one can be this ignorant.
