If you had the choice of Brady, "the best there's ever been", and Peyton Manning, why would you not take the best ever?

Baker Mayfield better than Tyrod already?

Sounds like you are having a flashback to a personal experience. A high school dance, pal? -
Baker Mayfield better than Tyrod already?
Mister Defense replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More similar? In what ways? One places balls precisely, and one throws them in the vicinity. One leads a receiver, hits him stride, and one throws it somewhere in the vicinity. Yes, generalizing and exaggerating here, but almost nothing similar in their skill sets -
Baker Mayfield better than Tyrod already?
Mister Defense replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't fake what Mayfield did last night, as he showed the kind of accuracy that few players do. His ball placement reminded me of some of the best quarterbacks I have seen play, such as Kurt Warner, whose passes seemed to be just where they needed to be. This doesn't mean Mayfield will be a great quarterback, but he looked really good last night, preseason or not. -
Marcus Murphy needs his own thread
Mister Defense replied to MakeBuffaloGreatAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, Murphy looks good; fast, runs with power, good moves, and runs well outside of the tackles and between them. He was used a runner only a few times in his years at Carolina. He is getting his shot. If he keeps doing this, he may be an important player this year, someone who can give the 30 year old McCoy a break now and then, including for an entire series at times. Nothing like a great one-two punch to wear down a defense, especially as a game progresses. And what we saw on the kickoff was not a fluke, as he was an excellent returner in college, with a 30 yard average and two touchdowns. Love those young hungry (and skillful) players that surprise us. -

Baker Mayfield better than Tyrod already?

Great to see Josh Allen perform as well as he did last night, looking poised, competent, confident and loaded with skill and potential. This coaching staff, the best here in years, seems to be creating the environment in which he can grow quickly into a very solid NFL quarterback and leader. But also impressed with Baker Mayfield's performance, skills, and potential. He was very accurate with almost every pass, and seemed to complete a wide variety of passes. Even some that didn't count, like his corner of the end-zone 'TD' pass, showed what he can do. This years quarterbacks, like Allen and Mayfield, and some others, will likely define the position for years to come. I like Tyrod Taylor. He is a hard worker and a humble guy. He has a good arm and is an excellent runner. I saw every pass he threw in every Bills game. And watching the game last night, seeing Mayfield zing the ball to the perfect spot on almost every pass, hitting receivers in stride with great placement, I realized: right now, before ever playing in an actual NFL game, and with only a few months of NFL practice under his belt, Baker Mayfield is already a better NFL quarterback than Tyrod Taylor is. Hugh Jackson can say what he wants, but it seems impossible that he can overlook this himself. I believe Mayfield will be the starter on day one or very soon after. Why not just do it now? Did anyone else think something similar last night? -
Sam Darnold Dazzles In Debut

How can you think that what he is saying in the OP is straightforward and not facetious?? -
Should we look at Eddie Lacy
Mister Defense replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, of course we should look at Lacy--and at any other possible, viable running backs available. And the Bills should take this search very seriously. They should bring in all of the viable running backs to see what they can offer. And now. While we should give McCoy the benefit of the doubt, the evidence seems to indicate that he was involved in this attempted robbery and beating. Yes, maybe some over zealous friends of his acted on their own, and there are other possibilities, but these scenarios seem less likely based on the facts. The Bills should not wait. They should get their ducks in row now. The success of the running game will be the key factor in the Bills success this year. -
A good read. But if accurate, if his college stats indicate it is extremely unlikely he will be a quality starting quarterback, this will go down in history as the worst pick in the Bills history. As that means that the Bills will have nothing to show for the first, third, and fourth picks this year, when they desperately needed them to rebuild their offensive line, linebackers, and wide receivers. And if Rosen becomes a great qb, well, it may be a quick end to the new Bills era. Really hoping that the Bills saw something definitive in Allen, and that they were fully aware of how poor his college stats were.

Go on the record -do the Bills trade up?
Mister Defense replied to sullim4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. The Bills see McCarron as the starter. Instead, they use their stash of picks on an assortment of high level talent. The combo of those two things will make the Bills a better team, more quickly. Wishful thinking maybe. -
Will Shadys ego outstrip his talent
Mister Defense replied to Foreigner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Strange post.. How is this about ego in any negative sense of the word? Seems the OP is confused about the concept of a big ego (as implied negatively by the OP) and about the type of player McCoy is. He loves playing, was devastated when he thought he would may not play anymore this past week after he was injured. The Bills are his team now. He wants this as much as anyone. Ego is a good thing, it is what propels us, but this is not a 'big ego' thing for McCoy, but about wanting to be part of this, of his team, as they head to the playoffs for a huge game. If they gave him a lobotomy then he may not care. Yup, he knows he is a vital component of this team and their success. Knowing that does not make him egotistical, as it is factual. (To not understand that would make him ignorant.) Ridiculous take, in my view. -
Absolutely. Dalton is a top tier quarterback who at this point in his career has been destined to play for a perpetually underperforming coach and, so, team. Hard to imagine how any NFL team would part with a player like that. But, hey, we got Shady McCoy for...Kiko Alonso! So you never know...

Kyle Williams: If You Ball You Get the Call

Kyle is going to play great next weekend, will be a big factor in the Bills victory. -
If Shady is out, then any options should be explored..

What happens to Tyrod next year?
Mister Defense replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it is not a very feasible option, but Tyrod would make an excellent backup and would likely really help a young quarterback as well. Likely: the Bills get what they can for him in a trade, hopefully a pick in rounds 3-4, and this trip to the playoffs increases his value, clearly. But if the Bills win next week it makes things difficult for the team, especially if Taylor plays a major role. And if they make it to the championship game, then he is back next year. (Has Taylor ever had a great quarterback coach in Buffalo, someone to help him eliminate weaknesses and sharpen his skills? fi not, might that be an option?) -

The Bills win an exciting game in Miami. The Bengals come through for their head coach. Kyle Williams gets in, his one time, finally. -

TRADE: Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo

30 years ago today in Bills history - Oct. 31, 1987
Mister Defense replied to nichebiche's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been a Bills fan since the late 70s. This was the most important trade in Bills' history, in my opinion. While the championship teams may be better known for the offense, to me it was the dynamic defense that got things going and that was the base of much of the success. The trade, and that first game with Bennett, were seminal moments. -
Interesting to see the extent of the coverage of this topic on CBS pregame, and the extent of the criticism. Many players, teams, and coaches are speaking out and taking action. I think If fans took a knee, or engaged in some other show of solidarity, it would amplify the effects considerably. (Go Bills 12, Broncos 6)

Rams Sign Ex-Bill CB NRC
Mister Defense replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He seemed like a talented player who played hard, and a good leader as well, From the Buffalo News today, upon his signing with the Rams: "The analytics website Pro Football Focus ranked Robey-Coleman second among slot cornerbacks with a 74.86 passer rating allowed to opposing quarterbacks." 2nd in the league seems pretty good. How many other Bills rank that high? What is the highest ranking of all of these free agents that the Bills have brought in to this point? It doesn't seem that the Bills are in a position to just get rid of good players. I wonder if the Bills, Whaley, have a real plan or if they are just shooting craps, over and over... -

Just read Jay Skurski's summation of the Daily News interview with Ryan. What a classless, senseless, irresponsible, obnoxious, pathetic ingrate. Saying he doesn't wish the team luck (to me, shows you just how close this 'players' coach' really is to his players), blaming everyone else for his failure and taking zero responsibility, implying the Bills position was not a "realistic opportunity", suggesting he joined a team in disarray as he was "not real lucky coming in there with the situation" he did, and bragging about the additional 15 million the Bills have to pay him. What a classless moron, the incompetent huckster fool he has defined himself as over the last 7-8 years. Talk about burning your bridges. Stupid, classless, clown.
